While my family was visiting from out of state, my boyfriend and I took them to this charming and adorable diner in Watertown. If you are driving, be mindful that just like their cafe, the parking lot is also quite tiny! However, they do open up their outside dining in they summer when ther weather is nicer which opens up a lot of space to eat! This diner had a gluten friendly labeled menu and was able to accommodate me with Celiac Disease. On top of that, they had amazing lattes. My boyfriend got the mocha, which in terms of mochas - may have been one of the best ones I've had (and I am NOT a mocha fan). I had a milkyway latte with almond milk which I thoroughly enjoyed, along with my breakfast which consisted of gluten free pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Came here by total accident. Seriously ... I was thinking of a different restaurant when I accidentally clicked on this one. So happy for the mistake because this place is so quaint and yummy!!! From the outside ... and honestly on the inside too, it's very underwhelming. However, once you experience the home town friendliness and delicious, diner-like food, you really forget about the ambiance and instead ... enjoy the diner-next-door vibes and hominess. The place is small, but I appreciated the online "waitlist" feature. It goes by a lot quicker than expected. I had to re-put myself on the waitlist cuz we weren't at the restaurant yet. This place also has a "order at the counter" first and then get seated situation, which helps things move along and turn tables over, but I'd have to say that this is my least favorite part. You get more fast food vibes than dining in vibes. The food, however, was definitely worth it. They have a large menu with amazing coffee drinks. The coffee drink I got was probably my favorite part. The food is also really good and feels like breakfast without being too greasy and heavy feeling. I came here for breakfast, but I definitely want to try their lunch menu too. Ordered their egg breakfast sandwich with the veggie Morningstar patty on an everything bagel and cold brew with sweet cold foam on top. Egg and patty seem to be lacking seasoning, I'm not sure if I was supposed to specify salt and pepper and I would consider adding chipotle mayo next time around. Cold brew with sweet cold foam would be better with a sippy lid instead of straw to fully enjoy the foam top. Otherwise, just okay. read more

Service is 7/10, it's fairly busy on a Sunday so I do truly commend them for their hard work. This is a very small diner. When we arrived I was confused by the set up. Apparently you walk up to the counter, ask for a table, grab a menu seat yourself, and then order at the counter. The menu is busy not properly punctuated so you may mistake items for more than what you're allotted to order. It's quite noisy inside I'm pretty sure this place seats maybe around 30/40 max at a time...but there's Togo orders/ online pickups etc in the mix of dine ins; I say that to say I'm sure that's how our order was put in wrong. An easy fix once it arrived to the table but a wait for the rest of the items. The food 10/10 in regards to taste and quality, my toddler enjoyed her pancakes, and bacon. I ordered her a side of scrambled eggs, which she still ended up needing more of. My stuffed berry French toast! Was pretty good. I will say the ricotta they use isn't sweet, so you will have to use the syrup but it's still fluffy and delicious. Now my husband loves cinnamon rolls so he tried the French toast, and I must say it's 100/10. I actually liked it better than the stuffed berry one! The meats were pretty good as well! It opens at 8:00 and filled right up. I think people were waiting for the door to open. I got there early and they let me sit inside until 8:00. This place is real popular for breakfast. They have an extensive menu which I was given when I came in. Lots of egg choices to choose from. An egg sandwich was 7:59 which I found reasonable. Some people arrived after me but were served before I placed my order. Then I realized you have to order at the counter. now looking around, there is a sign that orders should be placed at counter. It would not have hurt if someone mentioned this to me when I was given the menu. Lots of outdoor seated with limited tables inside. I don't know what they do in the winter. They have a number system where they give you a number so they know where to deliver the order. It seemed to work efficiently. The omelets were priced higher than the cheeseburger or sandwiches. That must be some omelet that they are preparing. I ended up having an omelet anyway but ....... still. Let's look at the pricing. The interior looked up-to-date. I have driven by Uncommon Grounds a hundred times and have always had it on my list of places to try. Finally, the day has come! There are tons of outdoor seats available so if it's a warm sunny day I would 100% recommend eating outside. Tons to look at, it's located on a pretty busy street so there's some activity to look at, and it's just set up for a great outdoor seating spot. You basically can sit anywhere (inside if there's a spot or outside) and then whenever you're ready to order, you go up to the register inside and place your order. They hand you a stick with a number on it, and then the friendly staff will come find you to deliver you your drinks and food. It's honestly super efficient. The staff is super nice too. The inside has probably 7-10 tables I wanna say. It's a little small but also does fit a good chunk of people. I ordered the "Breakfast Platter" with scrambled eggs, chocolate chip pancakes, hash browns, and sausage and I was full for nearly half the day! It was delicious. My friend ordered the Eggs Benedict and she wiped her plate clean. I'm super glad we made it out here! Such a gem! read more

They have lots of outdoor seating with umbrellas, which are good for now, but not sure how everyone fares in the winter. We grabbed a booth inside. It's very small, you order at the counter. Ordering takeout online is so easy and convenient. They have a free parking lot. They have some fun season drink specials, which are delicious. I got an omelet and my fiance got a breakfast burrito and we LOVED both. Their home fires were nice and well one which is preferred by both of us. I think the food is good, but, the ricotta lemon pancakes were indistinguishable with plain buttermilk pancakes. I even asked the manager if I had actually received the right order. They confirmed that was the ricotta lemon pancakes. They did give me a complimentary side of blue berries though, which was nice. I wouldn't recommend those pancakes. Why don't they tell.you when you come in that you have to be your own waitress? Why don't they tell their staff to tell their customers that the refill decanter should not be taken to the table? Met 2 friends for brunch just after noon on a Sunday. There was a good deal of outdoor seating under umbrellas. We grabbed some menus and placed our orders inside at the counter. They had breakfast foods, lunch foods and various coffees and teas. I ended up getting a chicken burrito which came with chips (chips seemed homemade). The burrito was delicious! A generous portion with well-cooked chicken, black beans, cheese and rice. I added guac for an extra $1 and was surprised by the portion of avocado that I saw in there. It was obviously homemade as well - chunky and fresh! One friend got a veggie omelet with fruit (which cost more than the home fries the plate normally comes with) and the other friend got a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. We were all happy with our food. The one recommendation I would make to the restaurant is to keep the tables and chairs clean. Since it's outside, there's a higher chance of debris, bird poop, etc, so staff should keep an eye out. I grabbed their paper towels and spray to clean our area when we first arrived and would have preferred not to have been responsible for that. Yum avocado toast! I was craving breakfast and decided to try this place since it was a nice day and they had plenty of outdoor seating. Also the food looked yummy! I ordered a caramel latte which was very tasty and avocado toast that came with a side of crispy potatoes and my bf got their breakfast bagel. My avocado toast was extra crunchy which I loved! And the perfect poached eggs on top were delish! I can't remember the last time I had a side of potatoes with my avocado toast, it was so good! I got a bite of my bfs bagel sandwich and it was also very good. The bagel was nice and chewy and the egg was also cooked perfectly. It was one of the best brunches I've had in my area! This place was bustling with people even during COVID and that's how I knew this was going to be good. They did a great job of taking COVID precautions. There are many tables with shades outside and everything was well sanitized. The eggs were poached to medium rather than a classic runny egg. The English muffin was relatively large too. But the english muffin wasn't too tough and crispy enough. My mom fell in love with her huevos rancheros! She loved that it was served in a crispy tortilla bowl as it added another layer of texture. The eggs were a little tough but well seasoned.
