shakshuka

I stopped for breakfast and had a pleasant experience. I ordered the shakshuka and an oat-milk chai latte, both were enjoyable. I also got the mango smoothie expecting it to be freshly blended, but it ended up being a bottled Naked drink. I should have read the menu better. My friend got the Dubai chocolate pancakes. The portion was on the smaller side, but they liked it. Overall, it is a nice place for a casual breakfast.

Thank you for coming to Arsenal Yards!!! What a nice edition to this family friendly area. My family and I have been pleasantly surprised by Mighty Squirrel and have visited this place many times. First, I love the ambiance of this place. It's so big and open. I love their outdoor space. I've only been here in the summer, so I'll be interested to see how they'll use their space in the wintertime. Second, the beers and other beverages are so yummy!!! I love that you can get small versions on most of the beers. I also love that they serve coffee and fresh juices. What a treat for any occasion. Their food is pretty good too ... especially their fish tacos. They are craveable and better than most taco places!!! I do wish, however, they had some flatbread options. That would really make this place amazinggggg!!! And last and most importantly, their service is impeccable. They get pretty busy but have always tried to accommodate seating. I also superrrrr appreciate that they are baby/toddler/kid friendly. Like ... so patient and no dirty looks. You'd be surprised how many places automatically judge you when they see a stroller pull up. This really makes this place shine and stand out cuz honestly, who needs a a drink with a nice vibe more than moms and dads of kiddos.

Birria Poutine

What a delightful addition to Arsenal Yards. After years as a pop up there, Mighty Squirrel took the leap and opened up a tap room. Lots of outdoor and indoor space. Brewery vibe. Tons of options on tap. They even do coffee and food! We got the mango lassi sour and the prickly pear sour. Generous pour, in a funky looking glass. I had the mango lassi, which I think had a slightly higher alcohol content than the prickly pear sour. It was also notable that it had lactose, which is interesting, and offset the sour just a little. The birria poutine was a fabulous fusion. Super creative and delicious. My other fav were the sliders. Liked the touch of crunchy bacon.

They just opened a couple of weeks ago. Came here for lunch. Great service, food, and drinks. Large space, indoor and outdoor seating, and good location at Arsenal Yard.

I am over the MOON with Moon Bar!…read more If I could live here I would! :) Another excellent experience here and it just happened to be restaurant week. We also spent an hour at the King Tut exhibit across the street! This restaurant/bar always seems packed. And, with reservations for 645pm (highly recommend) the bar was quite busy. The buzz from this high-end cocktail bar is exactly what you want on a Friday evening; From girlfriends sipping their wine to couples laughing and swirling their cocktails, Moon Bar is for the classy and sexy. Abby our server is excellent! A mixologist who knows all the cocktails and can recommend based on your preference. I tried one of their new cocktails with bourbon and did not care for it. Abby made me my mezcal drink that I have ordered before...its the 305 cowboy, an extremely popular drink. A must try for sure! Note: Some bartenders make you feel guilty for saying something about a drink you ordered and did not like. But, here at Moon Bar, Abby was so gracious to make me something that I will enjoy. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. Then, we had Piri-Piri Chicken Thighs that were also good but quite spicy. For dessert, we shared the Caribbean Tiramisu, which was great. It was a tough choice between this and the Guava Cheesecake. We were so full that we ended up bringing home leftovers. Oh, I also forgot to mention we always order their Curry Fries - a must try when coming here Trust Me. My husband doesn't love curry but he loves these fries and you will too. #friesaretodiefor Moon Bar, thanks for being amazing in every way. Thanks for your splendid service, crafty cocktails, delicious wine (try the Pinot Noir from Germany), and your amazing food ---Love those Curry Fries! "Alexa, make reservations for 2 at Moon Bar for tonight." Cheers~

I went with a friend for the Mother's Day buffet brunch. There were three timed seatings and we…read morewent for the one at noon. There was a bit of a backlog getting in but not a problem. The space is tight for a buffet, and we were glad to just miss being seated right next to where the diners were lining up for the buffet. They seemed to be a bit short-staffed as our server was attending to a section that included two large parties -- one of about 12 and another of 8 -- in addition to the smaller tables including ours. She came as soon as we were seated but only explained we could go up at any time and promised to bring water. We waited for her to return to take our beverage orders but finally grew impatient and got in line for the buffet. The buffet selections were scrumptious--breakfast and lunch options. The chicken and waffles seemed to be the most popular and the tray was empty when I got to it but a new batch arrived momentarily -- thank goodness! Yummy as I expected. I also had scrambled eggs and link sausages. I passed on a few other things like eggs benedict (the last in the tray which is never ideal). In hindsight the ideal time to arrive seemed to be about a half hour after your seating time, as by then the lines to the buffet were minimal (that's when I headed back for seconds). Oh and when I finally got to order my old-fashioned, it was delish. There is an attached parking garage (the red garage) and if you park at the right end of the building you just take the elevator to ground level and the restaurant is a few steps away. I'm not sure I'd return for the special celebration seatings. The price is right but the logistics, seating, slow service and lapse in keeping trays full of hot food would give me pause. On a regular day, however, no contest.

I was amazed at B&B in Back Bay, so I was eager to try it out at the Watertown location!…read moreUnfortunately, compared to its Boston counterpart, Watertown lags behind. We came here with my roommate on a Friday night and it was completely empty which was strange. Nevertheless, we ordered our usual baked brie and a side of fries start, which came out amazing as always. The problem began right before placing our order, as we informed the waitstaff that my roommate has a severe tree-nut allergy. The waitstaff took it into consideration and let us know they informed the kitchen staff. When we got our entrees, however, I noticed my roommate's salad garnish on her lamb chop was chock-full of chopped pecans! I was horrified. If I hadn't noticed, she would have had an allergic reaction. I understand that there is a risk when going out to eat, but this is completely unacceptable given we gave ample notice and the salad was not pre-made with nuts. The waitstaff seemed more terrified of us than apologetic, despite us being nice and understanding. I am going to call out an allergy hazard when I see one... They switched it for us which was good and did end up apologizing, but it kind of turned me off from the rest of the dining experience. The entrees themselves were decent, I had the famous wagyu sliders but I prefer the crispy chicken sliders here. If you have an option, I'd choose the Boston location over this one.

All the meals, by fabulous Executive Chef Jason Bond, were beautifully plated, served hot and delish! The expansive menu and creative cocktails are truly an experience for all tastebuds. The venue itself is so elegantly decorated yet relaxed at the same time. The performance space is also beautifully lit with it's own bar. Seating in the entire restaurant lends so much to the intimate setting and the casualness of the couch, chairs with low tables are fun! Ambiance felt modern and chic given the decorations and lighting which matched the overall vibes of the restaurant. Menu had a decent selection of dishes - nothing too standout as a typical American restaurant. The entree I got was okay, expensive and tasted fine. Overall, nothing special though. I probably wouldn't come back here again, but I had a fine meal with my friend. The price and quality just didn't match for me though and I probably would opt to eat somewhere else.

Nothing on the menu or from the server mentioned that, which was disappointing right away. When I told the server I didn't like it and wanted something else, he literally tilted his head and said, "ummm what do I tell the bartender?" That honestly rubbed me the wrong way -- just felt unprofessional and awkward. Jenny got a tequila cosmo, which was fine, nothing special. Food-wise, everything was just average. The bao buns were overcooked and the bun fell apart, though the flavor was decent. The pineapple fried rice was probably the best thing we had, but even that was just okay. We also had dumplings -- Jenny liked them, but I thought they were just alright. Dessert was the biggest miss. The blueberry cobbler was not good at all -- maybe a 3/10 at best. One thing that really didn't sit right was when we asked to split the tasting menu and were told no. That doesn't make much sense -- if people want to share, especially for a tasting menu, it should be allowed. Overall, nothing stood out in a good way, and between the service and the food, solid ambiance , it just wasn't a great experience.
