He serves great St. Louis backyard style BBQ prepared in a couple barrel pits. He prepares several meats every day he is there and has a number of sides. Today I tried his ribs, his brisket, his pulled chicken, and chicken thigh. All had good smoke flavor and were well cooked and seasoned. I really enjoyed the chicken thigh and the ribs. Don't get me wrong the other items were good, but I enjoyed those 2 the most. I'm not a fan of pulled chicken, I've noted that previously, but Mr. J's pulled chicken was right good. He puts a little of his se'lah gold sauce with it and some sautéed peppers and onions. That makes for good flavor. The reason for the 4 not 5 stars is minor. I had several slices of brisket on my plates and the first slice I picked up while nicely smokey and well seasoned was tough. However, every other slice was perfectly tender indicating a proper cook. I only tried his Se'lah Original Sauce. But let me tell you he has a wonderful quintessential St. Louis style BBQ sauce in that. Man is it good. I get to KFM often during the summer. The ribs were perfectly smoked using on site smokers. The ribs were very, very tender. I didn't count the number of ribs on my rib plate but it was very generous compared to a sit-down restaurant. He offers a variety of sides and I chose the potato salad and the coleslaw. Both were excellent, with decent sized portions.

The menu didn't have as many choices as some places, and just a few sugar free choices. There are just 3 choices in sizes. It makes it easy to decide quickly what to order. I got a Georgia sunshine today. They served each snow cone with lots of syrup, you won't get a dry cone! There were a few picnic tables with umbrellas so you could enjoy it on the premises. This is a nice place to get a cold treat in an STL summer heatwave.

I got wedding cake for me and chicken broth and a treat topper for the puppers. We happen to drive by a couple of days ago and on a whim I quickly checked them out on Yelp and figured out they serve sugar-free syrups. Not a great many but enough. So we banged a U-uey and dropped in on them a half an hour before closing. I'm a diabetic so sugar-free is the way to go for me. The grape was perfect! It didn't taste sugar-free, it didn't raise my blood glucose, everything about our visit was great. What made the visit even better was that we saw on the menu that they have SHAVED ICE FOR DOGS! Whoop, winner winner chicken dinner! We love places that accept and cater to dogs very much, there are not enough places that do. Unfortunately we did not have our dogs with us at the time but we're planning a second visit in a few days where we're sure to bring our two. The woman that was serving was great, she had on a good smile and was very personable. This is surely going to be a regular stop for us when we are out and about.
