Metered street parking, breakfast bagel options were great. I got the mikes bagel (2 fried eggs bacon and cheese) but switched the cheddar cheese to have cream cheese instead. The bagel was soft and yummy. I also got the vanilla bean latte which was very vanilla-y and great. Friendly service yummy coffee. Space to sit inside (not the best metal chairs though, see pic) ; would recommend a visit!

The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is because of wait times. I don't mean waiting in line, I mean waiting for your drinks because food comes out so fast! I hear the food is amazing so my next visit I will have to dine here also. Got an iced vanilla bean latte and it was worth the wait! They must harvest the beans fresh lol jk, but the flavor is truly great. It's a little cramped inside but there is an okay amount of seating since most people seem to take their orders to go, plus there is a few tables outside which they thankfully have been thoughtful enough to provide shade as well so on a nice day I'm sure it enhances the experience. I hope to be back soon and highly recommend!

Break of day burrito & peanut butter cup iced latte

I ordered delivery, so no notes on service or the physical location. The break of day burrito was piping hot & yummy. It was clear they diced & comingled all the fillings before stuffing them into the tortilla, allowing every bite to have some of everything, which I particularly appreciate. The peanut butter cup iced latte was a decadent hit of caffeine.

Delicious and very lavender forward. It was my husband's and my first time where we sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. The people are very nice and friendly. We plan to come back and try the breakfast menu. Cheers!

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after craving some breakfast burritos in the area. They have an abundance of different bfast items from pancakes, sandwiches, salads, coffee, lattes and of course bfast burritos. Ordered the break of day / all american burrito / pancakes. All items were very delicious. Nothing bad to say, everything was wiped clean. Burrito comes in a very nice tortilla thats very thin and has a nice texture. Size is really good as well. I know some places the burritos are the size of a peanut. The pancake was really fluffy and hit the spot. Definitely will try again and try their sandwiches next time. Parking is pretty easy even though it's street only parking a lot of spaces available. They do delivery to DoorDash an Uber eats as well.

I didn't realize the breakfast burritos are the main attraction, so I'll have to return. I tried the salted caramel almond latte and it was cool. What I loved most about this place was the service. They are so enthusiastic to greet you, which is a rarity at coffee shops now.

The service is always on point in the very cute spot that always gets packed. If you like really strong coffee, this is your place to be. Definitely a neighborhood spot with enough seating inside and outside. It is not super spacious inside but more of a homely feel with some lower seat downs, bar stools and high top areas. Outside could use more seating tbh. The veggie burrito was so huge it was hard to finish. Most items are good sized portion. It had enough dressing in it as well as much veggie including mushroom. Yay!!! The FunGuy fungus. Owners are so nice to talk to and very personable. It has an Asian flavor to some of the items like the banh mi sandwich. This is def a good find Undergrind!

    Bagel and lox

What a hidden gem! In an area that is not very trendy or known for anything in particular, sits this great coffee and breakfast joint. The food is fabulous, the coffee is rich and creamy, and the prices are more than fair. We had the Greek scramble that was loaded with feta, olives, spinach, and other veggies, and the lox bagel. My dining partner gets lox and bagels all the time and said it was the best he's ever had. The lox was super fresh and high-quality. There is a small seating area inside and a few tables outside on the sidewalk. It's super casual with metal barstools and a mishmash of tables and counters. It would be good for takeout as well.

I've been coming to undergrind since I discovered them during the pandemic. Love supporting a local black-owned business! Lattes are so yummy and their food menu really sets them apart from other coffee shops! Staff is always friendly.

I'm not a first timer for Undergrind and you can tell what it means when you keep coming to a coffee shop. Yep, I love their coffee and the fact that they provide multiple fun options of sweetened latte. Some of them are more adventurous featuring peanut butter, but my faves are surely their Salted Caramel and Vanilla ones. Kind reminder, their cup sizes are relatively big compared to typical coffee shops; hence I mostly go for their small. Unlike the cup size, the venue is quite small. Nonetheless, that actually doesn't really trouble me as much as the fact that sitting for awhile inside always leaves me with food/kitchen scent (IYKYK). Don't get me wrong, they do serve luscious breakfast and brunch menus, so if the scents don't bother you, ALL GOOD! This place is constantly busy throughout the day, but it's pretty outstanding that they always manage to get the orders ready speedy enough even including the foods.

Great spot for a hearty breakfast burrito! The Break of Day Burrito was a decent size for the price. Could've had a little more flavor so glad it came with a side of salsa!

Veggie & Grits (+Turkey bacon & scrambled egg). The creole wine butter & garlic made this dish!

Read my previous review for food items. I just wanted to show how I got my cherry bomb blended drink and it was sooo good!! Cherry bomb with oat milk, extra cherry pumps "not blended" with chocolate sauce at the bottom. This is my new high!!!! That's all!

So so good! I have had several things here and they are all so bomb. Service is kind and I asked for a recc and he gave me his opinion, which I appreciated. I ordered the breakfast burrito before for takeout and that was so good. Today my friend and I ate inside. There are a few tables, good music and we had a nice meal. I got the GOAT avocado toast topped with a fried egg, arugula, honey goat cheese, so creamy and yummy. My friend got the Bollywood burrito that is a curry explanation of flavor and deliciousness. She also got the purple rain drink with lavender and that was a lovely sweet treat. I also want to try the tuna sandwich on a brown bread and the beet salad.

During this visit we tried their Banana Pudding Donut, Fresh Strawberry Milk Cream Donut, Roasted Sweet Corn, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Hazelnut Latte and Caramel Latte. All 3 donuts were good and not too sweet. The Banana Pudding Donut was yummy. You can taste the banana that blends in well with the creamy pudding. The Roasted Sweet Corn was unique in taste. It was my favorite. Fresh Strawberry Milk Cream was also delicious. There's a hint of tanginess that balances the sweet taste of the donut. Hazelnut Latte and Caramel Latte went perfectly well with donuts and Chocolate Chip Cookie. Their Chocolate Chip Cookie is plentiful and contained lots of chocolate chips. Cafe Knotted is now added to our go to list for yummy pastries and donuts. We have also informed our social circles to try this place out. After letting the donut defrost at room temp for a little bit, somehow both the donut and the cream soften to the perfect texture and temperature. It was amazing, so I was excited to try the fresh version. However I was sorely disappointed. The fresh donut was the same texture and fragrant flavor which I liked, but the whipped cream was room temp since it was a hot day outside and the strawberries were thin slivers with barely any strawberry flavor. They should probably keep the donuts in a refrigerator if they are full of whipped cream. I was pretty sad that the fresh ones did not live up to my expectations. Guess I'll stick to the frozen ones from now on, they are cheaper, bigger, and better anyway.

Walked in on a Sunday around 11:30am, restaurant maybe a quarter full. Seated in a corner with incomplete silverware, no menus for several minutes, no water for even longer. Waited another 10-15 minutes with menus in hand before anyone came to take our order. The food wait aside, what really stood out was the lack of basic check-ins. No "sorry for the wait," no acknowledgment, and when I finally asked for the bill, the manager came over with the terminal, took payment, and walked off without much of a follow-up except to hand over boxes. Just a little warmth goes a long way! Food, when it arrived: * Landwer's Pancakes: the highlight. Three pancakes tall with seasonal fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, and maple syrup. Delicious and a generous portion. * Croissant Sandwich: disappointing. Tough, chewy croissant with thinner filling than the bread size warranted. Hard to get a clean bite. The Century City location is convenient, and parking on weekend mornings is easy before the crowds roll in.

My friend and I made a reservation for outdoor dining for brunch. We arrive right around our reservation time to find nobody at the podium. After a few minutes, a woman comes up and asks, "For two?" before immediately turning around and walking the other way, to which point we stop her and say that we actually had a reservation which we gave her all the details for. She stopped for about half a second, grabbed menus, then turned around again and brought the menus to an indoor table, then just walked away without making eye contact. She did not even tell us to follow her nor say a single word to us once we were seated. No worries, right? Wrong. We perused the menus and waited for about ten minutes, with no staff members coming by to help us. We started looking around to try to flag someone down, but each staff member was either not looking in our direction and/or wearing a different outfit from the next staff member, with some outfits almost having a nightclub aesthetic than wait staff. Eventually, another individual comes by our table and, again, without greeting us or making any eye contact, aloofly says, "Just order off the QR code," which we didn't see because the menus were covering it. Now, my friend who I was with works in the mall, and I know the restaurant offers a discount for mall employees, so as the employee was walking away, I called out and asked if we would still get the discount if ordering off the QR code, and he said yes. Note that in all the times my friend and I have eaten here in the past, it was always traditional table service. Then, we go to place our order, and after adding everything to the basket, it tries to charge my credit card. At this point, almost 20 minutes had gone by since we arrived, with still no single greeting or water or silverware set or anything. I get up to speak to another waiter who was helping nearby tables, to which I am again told to just order off the QR code but was reassured that the mall discount would be applied once the tab was settled. So we oblige and place our order through the portal. Several minutes later, the same waiter who I had most recently spoken with had come to our table (mind you, this is the first time someone came to our table in the entire time we were seated) and said that the restaurant was out of some of the items on our menu. And it was at this point that we FINALLY got waters. At this point, we had to look through the menu again, but it was getting to the point where we were going to miss our movie, so we had to just abandon ship and eat at the mall food court. Upon leaving, the only acknowledgement we got was from the first woman who "brought" us to our table, which was a petty smile and wave. Allow me to make myself clear. I hold no animosity against any establishment for being short-staffed, for requiring QR code ordering, or for being out of ingredients. This stuff just happens. What I do have an issue with is the astounding lack of any grace or hospitality, without even a simple "Whenever you're ready go ahead and use the QR codes on the table" or even a welcome. It just felt as though every person was just trying to get by with doing the bare minimum, and every employee had attitude. Even the couple next to us, who had been seated before we arrived, never got acknowledged. It's honestly a shame, because many of the items here are great, and the offerings are unique, but if this is how Cafe Landwer chooses to operate and treat its customers, I won't be back.
