    Salted Caramel Latte

I didn't realize the breakfast burritos are the main attraction, so I'll have to return. I tried the salted caramel almond latte and it was cool. What I loved most about this place was the service. They are so enthusiastic to greet you, which is a rarity at coffee shops now.

I've been coming to undergrind since I discovered them during the pandemic. Love supporting a local black-owned business! Lattes are so yummy and their food menu really sets them apart from other coffee shops! Staff is always friendly.

The service is always on point in the very cute spot that always gets packed. If you like really strong coffee, this is your place to be. Definitely a neighborhood spot with enough seating inside and outside. It is not super spacious inside but more of a homely feel with some lower seat downs, bar stools and high top areas. Outside could use more seating tbh. The veggie burrito was so huge it was hard to finish. Most items are good sized portion. It had enough dressing in it as well as much veggie including mushroom. Yay!!! The FunGuy fungus. Owners are so nice to talk to and very personable. It has an Asian flavor to some of the items like the banh mi sandwich. This is def a good find Undergrind!

    Bagel and lox

What a hidden gem! In an area that is not very trendy or known for anything in particular, sits this great coffee and breakfast joint. The food is fabulous, the coffee is rich and creamy, and the prices are more than fair. We had the Greek scramble that was loaded with feta, olives, spinach, and other veggies, and the lox bagel. My dining partner gets lox and bagels all the time and said it was the best he's ever had. The lox was super fresh and high-quality. There is a small seating area inside and a few tables outside on the sidewalk. It's super casual with metal barstools and a mishmash of tables and counters. It would be good for takeout as well.

I got the lucky charms, it literally tastes just like a regular iced coffee nothing special overrated af!!!!

Wasn't sweet at all no flavor just coffee, I was looking for that marshmallow flavor and sweetness just butter

Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte with almond milk

Coffee was delicious. I got the cinnamon toast latte and was worried it would be overly sweet as I normally don't drink my coffee too sweet but it was perfect. Had great flavor and strong. Loved the service everyone was very friendly. Also got a slice of banana bread that was really yummy. I definetly wanna go back and try more of their sweets and food - the daily burrito seemed to be popular.

GASSS burrito. And the most delicious coffee. Would recommend. I really enjoyed sitting outside here.

So so good! I have had several things here and they are all so bomb. Service is kind and I asked for a recc and he gave me his opinion, which I appreciated. I ordered the breakfast burrito before for takeout and that was so good. Today my friend and I ate inside. There are a few tables, good music and we had a nice meal. I got the GOAT avocado toast topped with a fried egg, arugula, honey goat cheese, so creamy and yummy. My friend got the Bollywood burrito that is a curry explanation of flavor and deliciousness. She also got the purple rain drink with lavender and that was a lovely sweet treat. I also want to try the tuna sandwich on a brown bread and the beet salad.

I'm not a first timer for Undergrind and you can tell what it means when you keep coming to a coffee shop. Yep, I love their coffee and the fact that they provide multiple fun options of sweetened latte. Some of them are more adventurous featuring peanut butter, but my faves are surely their Salted Caramel and Vanilla ones. Kind reminder, their cup sizes are relatively big compared to typical coffee shops; hence I mostly go for their small. Unlike the cup size, the venue is quite small. Nonetheless, that actually doesn't really trouble me as much as the fact that sitting for awhile inside always leaves me with food/kitchen scent (IYKYK). Don't get me wrong, they do serve luscious breakfast and brunch menus, so if the scents don't bother you, ALL GOOD! This place is constantly busy throughout the day, but it's pretty outstanding that they always manage to get the orders ready speedy enough even including the foods.

    Break of Day Burrito

Great spot for a hearty breakfast burrito! The Break of Day Burrito was a decent size for the price. Could've had a little more flavor so glad it came with a side of salsa!

Veggie & Grits (+Turkey bacon & scrambled egg). The creole wine butter & garlic made this dish!

Read my previous review for food items. I just wanted to show how I got my cherry bomb blended drink and it was sooo good!! Cherry bomb with oat milk, extra cherry pumps "not blended" with chocolate sauce at the bottom. This is my new high!!!! That's all!

Update since my last visit! My Latte was delicious and my burrito was excellent in flavor texture and let me say PORTION! This burrito was hefty. My wife got a coffee cake, that was good and her drink was a peanut butter cup latte and that was also real good! The food was so good today we're moving up from a 4 to a 5 star from my previous review. Shout out to the Raza chefs in the back! Also the service here is always great! Thank you :)

I'm just going to go ahead and say it, this might be the best breakfast burrito in LA. I had the "Break of Day" with bacon and it was everything I wanted. Leveled ratios of bacon, hash-browns and the right amount of cheddar. I'm in bliss. Not to mention the cute Halloween decorations and delicious chai latte. Oh and service, so kind and helpful. 5/5!

Village Well is just such a nice place to hangout in if you love books and/or need a place to work instead of home so you don't fall asleep. I placed copies of my books there, including a recent title that had been in the store for less than six months. When I followed up, I was told there had been no recorded sales and that books are subject to removal after a period of time without activity. When I returned to the store, I noticed that much of the "local author" section appeared sparsely stocked, which raised concerns for me about how long books are kept on display and how actively they are supported. To be fair, the store did communicate that: Authors are responsible for following up on sales Shelf space is limited Books may be removed after a certain period However, I think it's important for other local authors to understand that: Placement does not guarantee visibility or promotion You may need to actively check in and market your book yourself Unsold books may be pulled without much notice If you're considering consignment, I recommend having a clear plan to promote your work and staying in regular contact with the store. Just sharing my experience so others go in with clear expectations.

Many of the smaller artisinal coffee shops close around 2-3 pm. Luckily, Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. Is not one of those early closers, and I'm so glad I was able to come here after work at 6pm before my long drive back to San Fernando Valley. Just the small sample that I got today already made me want to come back here. I got a cup of Americano made from Mount Haraz medium roast coffee from Yemen, and it was just so delicious with its slightly earthy but pleasant flavor. There are a lot of other unique coffee drinks from Mufawar ( Mount Haraz medium roast + cardamom) to Sheeba (Qishr coffee beans) with ginger & cinammon. And coffee is not the only thing on the menu that can take you on an adventure. The desert and pastries are all very tantalizing, from Saffron Milk Cake to Honeycomb Khaliat Al-Nahl cake to what I got, which is the very delicious Pistachio Kunafa Cheesecake. It was a real treat for anyone who wants to take their sweet tooth beyond the basic same ol' flavors you tend to see in majority of coffee shops! Additionally, the shop has a gorgeous interior decor with its high ceilings, beautiful murals, and exquisite presentation of your tasty treats! Love the tray the used for my Americano and dessert! I'll be sure to come back here, especially since it does open late!

The space is very large and open, with plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs. It definitely attracts a lot of students studying. Personally, I think the upstairs feels more like a quiet study zone, while the downstairs has a more social vibe but right now the separation feels a little unclear. Upstairs, it was extremely quiet, which made it feel slightly awkward since I was trying to have a conversation with my son. Service was okay, but nothing special. The staff member who helped me wasn't particularly warm or attentive. I ordered their signature latte, but it had too much cinnamon and I couldn't really taste the cardamom. It also felt a bit too milky and watery for my preference, so I probably wouldn't order that drink again. However, I would come back to try their teas and other menu items. The pistachio cake, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious very sweet, soft, and moist with a rich flavor. Overall, I'd give it about 3.5 to 4 stars. The space itself is beautiful, and there's parking in the back, which is convenient. It's a nice place to come with family or friends to hang out, study, or enjoy coffee, tea, and dessert.

There is a full-service restaurant and bar perfect for grabbing a pint and a meal, and a dedicated bakery on the right side where you can pick up empanadas and sweets. During my recent visit to the bakery, I ordered three empanadas and a Beef Milanesa sandwich. It had been a few years since I'd had a Milanesa, and this version was quite solid -- it's essentially what would happen if a chicken fried steak and a chicken cutlet had a baby. The Beef Milanesa ($19.25), it features a breaded, very thin eye of the round beef. Since this is a bakery, the French Baguette is front and center, offering a great bite. It's pretty simple with the tomato, lettuce and mustard. While I would definitely eat it again, it isn't necessarily a destination sandwich I'd drive across town for, but it's a very satisfying choice. For the side, I went with the staff member's recommendation of French Fries over the salad. It was the right move; the shoestring fries were perfectly seasoned, hitting that ideal balance of crispy and soft. Spinach Artichoke: A flavorful blend of extra virgin olive oil, whole milk mozzarella, spinach, artichoke hearts, and caramelized onions. Spicy Beef: Made with halal beef, sweet onions, and a kick from three different types of chilies. Chicken Mushroom: Features halal chicken thigh (ground in-house by hand) with roasted mushrooms and fresh herbs. The empanadas ($3.50 each) were excellent and truly the primary reason to visit. The Spinach Artichoke and Spicy Beef were my personal favorites. I'll definitely be back soon to work my way through the rest of the empanada menu. With so many hipster restaurants popping up in the area, don't overlook this local gem. Whether you're in for the bakery treats or a hearty sandwich, you won't be disappointed.
