Daughter recently had her vehicle towed to Unfranchised Auto on Loudon Road in Concord, NH. (If I would have known she was having car towed there I would have said no, don't do it.) Anyway, 1/3 mile up the road when she started her car, the gas pedal didn't work. She pressed on it, no gas, couldn't go anywhere. They said they diagnosed the problem, spent very little time on it, cost $120. The second time she started the car, same problem. They said it is this other part that was needed. Nope. Had it towed to son's favorite mechanic in Manchester NH he has used for 10 years. Diagnosed the problem, cost $60. Fixed this time. Now let's go back 3 years. My car wouldn't stop stalling. Would stall like 6-7 times to get out of a parking lot. I paid them about $1200 to fix it. Not fixed. Brought it back few days later, spent about another $800 to fix it. Not fixed. Stupid me brought it back a couple of days later, more $$ to fix it. Not fixed. I said I have spent a lot of $$. I was told it was an "old car." I've dealt with these guys for a while now, personal vehicles and company business a while back. Never had an issue at all. Jeremiah is awesome to deal with. I had my truck worked on a month or so ago. Picked it up after hours. Saw my rear rain guard broken with the piece on the ground. Snapped a pick, talked to Jeremiah, he took the price of a new set of rain guards off my bill no problem. I've seen the other reviews with people bitching about "over charging" well folks every auto shop has diagnostic fees, or they could just put parts in to fix the issue "customers, or amateur mechanics " tell them they think it is and charge for that. Suck it up buttercup, you need to explore the mine before you go digging for gold. Anyway. These guys are great, and honest, phone calls to update you on shit is going along the way. I went to this place to get an inspection because they had a deal going on. It was great. The guys there were friendly and the car passed problem free. I decided to go back about 6 months later to get new tires put on my car. I inspected my car before and after the swap was done and the mechanic put a big scratch around one of my wheels. He left a gouge in a different wheel from an impact gun socket missing the lug. And there was grease all over my wheels that I just washed prior to going there. I have mounted tires on wheels before and could've done a neater job myself if I had a tire machine. It was sloppy and I probably won't be going back there. read more

I went to the garage on Saturday 9/10/16 for a rubbing noise with my breaks. I thought the sound was coming from the front breaks but the mechanic told me the fronts were only about half worn and everything else looked great. He said the issue was the rear breaks due to the emergency break was stuck on rubbing up against the drum. all were replaced at what I thought was a fair price. when I picked up the car the mechanic said he could still hear the noise it was making but thought it was the new pads breaking in. ask me to give it a couple of days and come back if problem continued. I returned to the auto shop on Wednesday that week and scheduled an appointment for 9/10/16. when the mechanic diagnosed the problem he gave me a call at work to say it turns out it was the front breaks that were making the noise as well as the sway bar. He asked if I wanted to work to be done for some more of my hard earned cash. I told him to go ahead with the work. I though about how I was going to pay for the work and decided I couldn't afford it this week and called back in ten min to tell them to cancel the job. he told me my car would be ready for pick up in an hour. When I arrived a explained how I couldn't afford to do the work this week but wanted to get it done ASAP. and that's when it happened......... I was handed a $44 bill for a half hour of work that was done diagnosing the issue. I told him I didn't think it was fair to charge me for something that was miss-diagnosed in the first place. I told him I would make an appointment for the further work but had a bad taste in my mouth now over the $44. Sorry to say Unfranchised Auto Care has lost my business of my 100,000 mile GMC. I had an inspection done on my vehicle yesterday Unfranchised Auto Care, they spent an hour and half inspecting the vehicle. In my 30 years as a licensed driver I have never seen a car inspected in the way it was . I should have known that a 10 dollar inspection special was to get you in the door to get you to do work that is not needed on your vehicle. This company went over my vehicle with a fine tooth comb to the point that they needed to call the dealer the next morning to see if a ball joint passed or failed due to a 1/4 inch movement in it. If you want to fail your car inspection due to the indepth inspection, please do, they would love to steal your money on repairs that should'nt need to be made. Buyer beware a 10 dollar inspection is too good to be true. If I could give them negative stars I would. read more

I am so unbelievably grateful to Sanborns in Laconia, not the rip off thieves at Unfranchised Auto in Concord, Main st. To make a very long story short. I checked around for pricing, went to Unfranchised Auto in Concord NH, they quoted $500.00 to repair my wheel bearings (I supplied the parts). I dropped off my car and took a cab to work. They called and said both bearings would be $500.00,......I couldn't do it. I paid 45.00 for them "looking at it for a half hour". Then I met my future mechanic........Once you read the 2nd half of the story you will see what a rip off they are. I then took my car to another place. at the other place I mentioned I needed brakes as well, the owner took me to 2 Auto places to buy the brakes and Rotors (NO MARK UP) then DROVE me to work. He said if he couldn't have the car fixed he would drive me to rent a car. they called me at 4:30, when I got out of work said he fixed my car and no need for a rental. They PICKED ME UP at work and only charged me $260.00 for both wheel bearings, brakes and rotors AND drove me everywhere I needed to go. I am so happy that this guy gave a reasonable price, NO mark up on the parts (which is expected and all auto places do it) and drove me everywhere. I have found my forever long mechanic. .......however unfranchised auto I will never waste my time with again read more
