This is a stylish but classy wine bar-esque place. The drinks are really small but good. I finished my Spritz ($14)! The food is very well curated and everything is great. Deviled Eggs ($14) - only 3 egg halves were given. Z'aatar Pull Apart Bread ($12) - warm and fluffy! Steak Tartare ($20) - A+ Oyster Crudo ($30) - fresh and amazing. The staff were really polite and friendly :)

Stopped by Ungrafted for a quick bite and some wine. Super chill spot, great vibes, friendly staff and everything hit just right. Perfect little pause in the day.

Great place to checkout if you're in the area near the chase center. My friend and I were going somewhere else but saw this place from the outside and decided to try it. The atmosphere is relaxing and service is good. Great selection of wines and beers paired with good bites. Would definitely go back if in the area or date night!

Love the food at Ungrafted, but our recent experience had service that was uninterested and aloof. Made a dinner reservation for my mom's birthday... seated at a table in the back between the beverage room and the service area. First, drinks came suuuuper slow. Nothing to mix.. just a couple of bottles to open... why so long? 7:30 Saturday... out of fish of the day... ok. Ordered the deviled eggs, crudo of the day, beet salad, beef cheeks and steak frites. Eggs - awesome. Small but good Crudo - just amazing Beet salad - so much cream on the bottom? Like eating mayonnaise. Beef cheeks - really delicious. Also small Steak frites - was super tough. Also. Not cooked to the requested temperature (MW). Sent it back and another one came back also under but slightly better. Service issues: - slow drinks - banging silverware literally directly behind our ears - slow service (was trying to get their attention and a server actually made eye contact and kept going and never even acknowledged us) - brought back the replacement steak without silverware - just no sense they wanted us to have a good experience. Also weirdly the food came on plates so small it was crammed on there. WTH Ungrafted? Nice they brought my mom a dessert with a candle, but almost $300 for 3 people with 1 alcoholic drink is a bit rich. Especially when it seemed like they were indifferent to us being there.

Ungrafted--a sophisticated yet relaxed wine bar serving more than your average charcuterie board. their wide open glass doors are super inviting, so we walked right in and were able to get seats at the bar. it has high ceilings and a charming, rustic warehouse atmosphere that feels wine-inspired. there are wine bottles of all sizes on display and they have their own wine cellar. there's a perfect view hole of sun-kissed clouds through their front windows--perfectly paired with a glass of rosé during happy hour! we are super appreciative of Tasha, who helped us curate our delicious dining experience. her food recommendations and wine pairings were spot on! the flavors in each dish were intricately thought out, everything was delectable and fresh, the Za'atar pull apart bread was mouthwateringly delicious, and their roasted cabbage?! unbelievably tasty! they have a whole section of vegetarian options on their menu too :) Ungrafted is great for a date night, a solo outing with a book or crossword, a group friend/family dinner, and they can also accommodate large parties with a long table setup. definitely sit at the bar if you want to chat it up with wine-educated bartenders or seat neighbors. they also have a monthly wine club and hand pick your bottles! wherever you are, it's worth the commute to the east side of SF. whether you stop by before or after a giants, valkyries, or warriors game, or you make a reservation ahead of time, if you're ever in dogpatch, you ought to visit Ungrafted--you won't wanna miss it!

Our meal was excellent. We ordered: Wild arugula salad Caesar salad Lamb ragu Chicken schnitzel The salads had the perfect amount of dressing. The entrees were substantial with an unusual combination of ingredients. With so many great restaurants in SF, it can become hard to find a place that isn't just replicating what others are doing. This place definitely stood out. Highly recommend. Oh, and Chris, our server, was so kind and attentive!

While I always have a great experience at Ungrafted, this visit was exceptional. Our server was incredibly attentive, cooperative, and knowledgeable about the wine selection, which made the evening truly top-notch. The food (especially the churros) the wines, and the overall ambience were all wonderful. Thank you for a lovely experience!

Ungrafted has great food with an equally impressive wine list for pairing in the Dogpatch for any nearby Chase Center events. While there are several food options at the Chase Center, these spots tend to be super crowded. For those who are willing and have the time, Ungrafted provides a great restaurant that is within reasonable walking distance from the venue (roughly 15-20 minute walk)! For those who also want to keep it fancy and get a glass of wine, this is the place as they also serve as a wine bar with an impressive list of wines to choose from. Here is a list of the food that I tried: Anchovies (4/5): Soaked in a red fresno chile vinagrette allowed the anchovies to have a more acidic heat to the pieces. With freshly toasted sour dough from Neighbor Bakehouse, it was a solid tapas dish that I only wish had more pieces! Roasted Cabbage (5/5): WoW! Did not expect to like this dish as much as I did. The green goddess provides a creamy smooth counterpoint to the slightly sweetened cabbage with little pops of saltiness from the roe made each bite super satisfying. Would order again! Braised Short Rib (4.5/5): Definitely enough for two people! Cooked perfectly so that it is fall off the bone in that rich demi glace. It also had a potato mash and carrots that helped really round out the dish. Loved the pieces of pickled daikon to give that kick of acid. Overall, well done. Service was great and quick especially considering the walk to the concert. Street parking can be a little bit difficult but is possible if you are willing to circle around the area. Overall, Ungrafted is worth checking out if you are in the mood for wine or even food before a concert/event at the Chase Center!

Came here for a spontaneous family lunch on a saturday around noon and there were surprisingly many tables available! We were grateful that our server was really patient as we had a baby in the party who did not make our time easy :') We ordered the deviled eggs, shishito peppers (these are spicy fyi), and a summer salad to share. I ordered the mushroom toast for my entree and my husband ordered the lamb burger. I think out of everything, the mushroom toast was my favorite flavor-wise, however it's incredibly difficult to eat the toast and not create a mess. Halfway through, I was eating it like a salad lol

Ooh I loved how kid friendly this beautiful wine bar is! EVERY wine bar needs a kids' table! There's a small kids table in the corner of the restaurant that had crayons and a princess coloring book. We were able to walk in on a Saturday afternoon after strolling over from an event by the water. I enjoyed my white wine, though honestly there are very few white wines I find unenjoyable. My husband didn't like the beer he got. They have a pretty full menu for being a wine bar, with lots of small plates and entree options. The entrees are pretty pricey so we opted not to get anything, but I would come back for a date night or something since many of the entree options seemed intriguing. They seem to change around the menu a bit as many of the pictures I perused on Yelp were not on the menu. We ended up getting deviled eggs (3) and roasted cabbage salad. I saw on yelp that it was bathed in dressing, so had it on the side. Cabbage is presented as a full half cabbage, and only lightly roasted in the top. Our server was super sweet.

Gooey Butter Cake $12 - 4 stars, gooey, lovely. Honeynut Squash $14 - 4 stars, like pumpkin pie, curried cream good. Tue dinner 2024-05-14

We had a very nice dinner here. The food is pretty good (although the servings were small and it was a little overpriced), there was a wide drink selection (just no cocktails), and this spot was shockingly kid-friendly. PARKING A little difficult at 5pm on a Tuesday. You have to go on the side streets. There are people leaving around this time, so we circled a little and found a spot within 2 blocks. RESERVATIONS Made less than a week in advance. They weren't too busy (Tuesday at 5pm, group of 6) and we would have been fine without a reservation. FAMILY FRIENDLY They really went above and beyond. There was a kid's table with 2 kid's chairs near the back, where they had coloring books and coloring pencils. There was a 2-tier stool by the bathroom sinks. There was a legit changing table in one of the bathrooms - not the Koala ones that fold down from the wall - a white changing table that you might have in your own house. And there was a toilet seat cover for the toddlers. The only thing I didn't see was any kid-friendly dinnerware (we didn't specifically ask - but if a restaurant has them, they usually just bring it out). THE COST Our lovely friends got the bill as it was my birthday, but I believe it was quite high.. upper $400s for dinner and drinks for 4 adults, 2 toddlers, 1 baby. THE FOOD SMALL BITES * Celery Salt Fries ($8) - 3.5 stars. On the crisp side, nicely done. * Deviled Eggs ($12 for 3) - 3 stars. Seemed fine to me (I'm not usually a fan of deviled eggs generally so hard to say). * Hush Puppies ($12) - 3 stars. A bit dry and flavorless. MEDIUM BITES * PEI Mussels ($26) - 4 stars. Tasty yet simple, lovely toasted bread, nicely flavored broth. * Duroc Pork Ribs ($25) - 4 stars. Quite interesting, particularly with the kumquat adding a bitter-y tang. LARGE BITES * Okinawan Sweet Potato ($34) - 3.5 stars. Interesting flavors and a unique dish, but a very tiny serving for the price point! * Olivier's Pork Loin ($40) - 3.5 stars. Meat texture was soft, fairly muted flavors, fine but not a standout. * Mt. Lassen Trout ($38) - 4 stars. Perfect texture, pink in the middle. Just a very small serving for a "large bite" and at this price point. SWEET BITES * Honeynut Squash ($14) - 4 stars. Our server described this as kind of a pumpkin pie, and it was that and more, with texture, and the curried cream a very interesting flavor pairing. * Gooey Butter Cake ($12) - 4 stars. Certainly gooey, and lovely.

This wine bar has a wonderful selection, and I enjoyed trying a variety of different wines. In addition, there is a well curated bottle shop that features items from their menu without being overpriced. They also have a limited but very good food menu, which would be great for a quick lunch. I particularly liked their onion rings with a yogurt dipping sauce. I overall recommended this establishment if you're looking for a pleasant afternoon glass and a bite.

The communal table seating is a fun way to meet new people, talk about shared passion for food & culture. The food was beautifully presented & delicious! Chef Gracie & her crew did a wonderful job. The dining tables had small appetizers waiting for us upon arrival to graze and enjoy until the formal service started. I overheard her say that she knew we'd be hungry so she prepared some wonderful breads & dips in advance. The strawberry soup was interesting, not too sweet but had savory toppings that added flavor & texture. The beet salad and duck were presented family style and the duck was perfection, tender & flavorful. Dessert (lemon gelato) was served individually & was a refreshing end to our meal. The specific class I took didn't require much action other than combining, stirring, and a tiny amount of chopping. You're in groups, so you can skip doing anything you don't want to do. The assistants are friendly and super talkative. Eating at the big table with everyone else was fun. They had beer, wine, and a nonalcoholic cocktail as well. Part of the thrill, of course, is the hipness factor, the ego-inflating I-know-something-or-somebody-you-don't-know feeling that comes with being on a VIP list." So naturally, when the opportunity for me to eat at one of these "homegrown supper clubs" arrived I jumped at the chance, particularly since my friend and former colleague, James Stolich, was at the helm. I had no idea what to expect when I arrived at the beautiful San Francisco flat James lives and cooks in. After a tour of their home, I joined James in the kitchen to watch him in action as he prepared a six course meal for twelve. His marble counter and timeless appliances are the stuff self-professed epicureans like me dream about (while living in studio apartments with little counter space and undersized refrigerators.) Having known James in a primarily professional capacity (we worked together at a UK-based digital business consultancy during the height of the dot com boom) it was a joy to see he's as adept at cooking as he is as an interactive producer. The crowd on Friday night was as eclectic as it was international. As Pia is from Italy, the Italians were well-represented. Other folks hailed from a variety of exotic locales including Queens, Atlanta, Romania and France. While some folks congregated at the table, others mingled in the kitchen either helping James or quizzing him on his preparations. The night began with champagne and appetizers which included prosciutto and roasted cashews with olive oil, sea salt and lime. The subsequent six courses were wonderfully prepared, seasonally appropriate and above all, delicious! From the burrata cheese and golden beet salad to the restaurant-worthy sweet tomato gazpacho and the handmade gnocchi, I was thoroughly impressed at every turn. If you're growing bored of the restaurant scene or just want to try something new, I highly recommend Cook With James.
