The actual pedicure felt rough at times with pulling, filing too close to the skin, and a hot stone massage that was more forceful than soothing. There was very little interaction. Another guest came in mid pedi session and was seated directly next to me despite several other stations being open. Overall, it just didn't feel calming or customer-centered. They hardly did any massage, worked on our feet very quickly, as though they just didn't want to be doing it. Pedicure and gel French for $60 plus tip. Note: there is a sign stating that tips must be made in cash. I didn't have cash so I said I would need to leave to go the ATM- they said I could tip on card. I was thankful for this because it saved time. This salon was pretty nice. The massage chairs are newer and the facility is very clean. They put the liner in the pot soaking tub to protect from germs which I appreciate. The man working on my nails was very careful and took his time. At the end of the manicure I got a back massage which was very pleasant. I would suggest to any newcomers to upgrade to the higher level pedicure. The basic pedicure doesn't include much of any callus removal which I was bummed about. Overall a very solid salon. I decided to give this place a try and wanted to Yelp it ( Yelp is big in California but doesn't seem to be in Syracuse). I had a great experience. I walked in and they saw me within three minutes. Person after person kept walking in and they took everyone. I kept thinking to myself,people are going to wait and get mad but it never happened. They were so efficient that everyone who walked in was in a chair within five minutes. I really don't know how they managed that. The place was clean and the staff friendly. There are plenty of chairs and TVs in with the close caption in. I liked my gel manicure (even though there were a lot of people my manicure didn't feel rushed. She even asked me if I wanted a third coat on my nails and I did). They massaged my neck, back and hands. I also don't like to talk much and I liked how they girl didn't try to force a conversation. I had to leave my service early because the lady doing my nails was filing away at my skin and missing my nail causing my skin to break and bleed. Someone who battles with OCD and is well aware of the risk of HIV exposure at nail salons does not appreciate this. The lady doing my service was so rude when the nice girl at the front desk let me only pay for the one nail she added ($6). I tipped the lady who cut me $1 because I understand that times are tough during COVID. So please use that tip to remind yourself to educate yourself on the spread of HIV at nail salons instead of acting like the customer isn't right, when THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! I was scammed. I went in there because i'm looking for a nail salon that is close to syracuse. It was recommended by my moms friend who lives in syracuse because her mom goes there. I got my toes done and I got tips on as well. My toes were quick and good quality but they did my nails and they came out good. They were filing too hard on my skin as well which caused it to be irritated for a couple days. They told me my total was around 60 dollars which i thought was cheap but when I got my credit card statement, I saw that they had charged me 90 dollars. I called them and they were no help. I've been to many nail salons and have a general idea of the routine when it comes to a pedicure or gel manicure. I received a gel pedicure for $45. This seemed to be pretty outrageously priced in my opinion. For starters they soaked my feet in water, but no soap. When it came time to buffing out the calluses I feel as though it was a mediocre job. During pedicures, I expect this part to be the main focus. I just went to get a simple gel removal and basic manicure. The young man giving me service went on a break after someone else put the gel remover on my nails. When I asked when is he coming back, they told me he's on a break. Who goes on a break in the middle of service? He came back and then sneezed on his hands before almost spreading his germs to my hands. I asked him to wash his hands. No apology for not being mindful of his hands. After washing, he came back and did my nails. When he was completing, I noticed that he had made white scratch marks across all my nails. When I asked why that was the case, he told me there was something wrong with my nails! As if it had nothing to do with this subpar service. Then he proceeds to shine and buff my nails and just shines over the scratches instead of doing anything about the scratches. In the end I got up and left. I told the woman at the front about his service and while she tried to apologize he just kept saying my nails were messed up. I've never had a nail technician tell me that my nails are messed up. I've gotten a pedicure, 2 gel manicures, and my eyebrows waxed and I've been very happy with the service I've received each time I've been there. They still only gave my mother the gel polish. They did mine the gel dip. I get gel dip every 2 weeks at another salon back home. I took my mom there because she heard great things. Well today 5/14/18, all of my nails are CHIPPED AND BROKEN. When I called they REFUSED to refund me for my gel dip nails. I didn't want a full refund, just on mine and they are refusing. I don't live around there so I cannot just go back. I work in customer service as I have for 13 years and I've always had my nails done. Never were they this bad ever. First off I moved here from buffalo and had the hardest time finding a quality nail place that gives you your monies worth, who doesn't just try to get you in and out and actually cares about your nails and feet! I have no idea why this place doesn't have more reviews!! Every time I come they treat me so well, they have a Mani and spa pedi for $45!!!! Which consists of the A through Z pedi treatment, dry skin removed, clay on your legs, cleaning your nail, two different scrubs used and some elbow grease on removing all the bad stuff. Then they massage your feet and legs! And use hot stones on your feet! The Mani is your usual Mani but with a massage and then! while your nails are drying they give your back a hot towel massage! Went there a few weeks ago because I needed a gel polish done and this was close. This was the best job I've ever had done! Often a manicurist applies the paint too thick and not carefully enough around the edges so it starts it peeling away from the cuticle within a few days if I get them wet. But Diana did an amazingly careful job - and she was quick too! She also gave me a wonderful (and needed) shoulder rub while the gel was curing. Oh, and did I mention it was very reasonably priced? Upon entering my daughter and I thought this place was ok. I received a basic manicure because the "paraffin manicure" I requested was not available due to machine not working, as I was told. My a college student received a (fill). The services performed were ok. The complaint is regarding "Customer Service" with the gentlemen serving my daughter, (whom desired to treat me and pay for services). While paying she gave the "gentleman a tip" , he looked at her as if to say it wasn't satisfactory, then turned to his co-worker and spoke a remark within their native language. I recently moved and thought I'd try Unicorn Nails as it's closer to where I now live. That was a mistake. Worst pedicure I've ever had. My feet sat in the water for 5-10 seconds before trying to push back my cuticles, which doesn't work. Never cut out that fiber that grows next to the nail, which can cause ingrown nails. Absolute worst place to get your nails done in Syracuse. I only went here because my regular shop (Lily's) was closed. I've been getting my nails done for years and have never had a worse experience. The guy doing my pedicure was rude and rushed the pedicure. The nail technician was inexperienced and did not know how to do the proper process to apply "fake" nails. They used dip powder which is fine for short nails but not if you want long nails because it breaks very easily. Within two days of getting my nails done one broke off which I have never experienced in such a short time frame. Aside from that, the technician could not do a coffin shape nail. To the point where he had to get a different technician to do my nails who also could not do coffin shape nails. If you can't do the shape just tell the customer that in the first place so I can go somewhere else and not waste my money. The gel polish was applied wrong and he applied 4+ coats which is excessive and unnecessary if you apply the polish right in the first place (he applied glue to the nail before applying the polish??) and I ended up walking out of the store with bubbled and peeling nails. I repeatedly asked the technician to fix my nails and they still did not do it the correct way. The polish peeled off two nails completely within three days. Anywhere else I go my nails last at least 3 weeks to a month. At the very least, the manager gave me a discount but only after I asked for one. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Prices are high for such poor quality work. The only redeeming quality is they have a large polish selection but that still does not make the place worth it. Go to Lily's or Reddicks instead!! read more

I've been to this nail salon twice in the past three months. My original review was going to be a lot different than the one that I am about to write. The first time I went in, it was a few days before a New Year's Eve wedding, so maybe that's why I had the service that I had. I went in to get a gel manicure, but the manicure that I got was not so great. The guy who did my nails was clearly in a rush and didn't really pay attention to me at all. There was gel polish all over my cuticles, and the manicure started peeling within a day. I was really disappointed, but I decided to go back, because I'm a big believer in second chances. Got a dip powder manicure done on Saturday. The guy who did my nails took SO long to do them. He didn't use a base powder before the actual colored powder, which I was confused about. I had never been here before so I didn't know if they just had a different process. He only dipped my nails into the powder one time, so my light pink color that I picked is actually clear. Even though he skipped many steps, it was the longest manicure I've ever sat through. Long over an hour. He used the electric file and a buffer on my nails after too, so theres basically nothing there. When I left I noticed that a whole section of one of my nails had been filed with the electric file so much that it was down to my real nail with no powder layer at all. Less than 24 hours later, 3 of my nails are cracked. One of my real nails actually cracked because my nails are so flimsy and the layer of powder is so thin that it doesn't keep them from bending.
