This was the third stop on my night out with my friends. Upon entry we noticed there was an upstairs and a downstairs and were surprisingly able to find seating in a corner on a Friday night. This is such a delightful bar! I was visiting friends in Seattle. I had heard about this place from a YouTube. All of the decor is so cool, a circus/carnival feel. And there are arcade games that we really enjoyed. The cocktail selection is amazing including Cereal Killer which tasted like Fruit Loops! We also had two rounds of the Jell-O shots which tasted exactly like a cream sickle bar. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. read more

Anthony Bourdain visited and said, "They have hipster-inspired drinks called Unicorn Jizz and My Little Pony. I don't know about you, but I'm not trying them anytime soon." I have to say, I don't disagree with Tony B. often, but this was one of those times. I drank the KoolAid, or the Jizz rather. It was...well, if they existed...Unicorns that is...and they, um, well, you know...I think the cocktail is exactly what it would taste like. Super sweet, fizzy, and a little bit tart. The Unicorn Jizz is certainly not something I would recommend having more than one of (hangover central); or in my case a big sip - I talked one of my friends into ordering it so I could have a taste (he also has a Cotton Candy - sucker! - yum!). In the end, we all partook in the Jizz. Located in Seattle's vibrant and diverse Capitol Hill area, the heart of the city's LGBT community, Unicorn is just as appealing and inviting from outside as in. Very colorful, fun images, faux mirrors that allow you just enough of a peek at the interior you can't help but be drawn in. Striped walls, twinkling lights, a very "circus" looking bar, assorted taxidermy adorning the walls - the place screams ADULT FUN of all sorts! I LOVE it! :-D People from all walks of life and super friendly bar staff! After taking it all in, and sucking down a few drinks, make your way downstairs to Narwhal. Another "circus" bar area, heavy metal bands rocking out the night I went, and loads of vintage and new quarter sucking arcade game and pinball machines (75 cents per play)! Even more fun! Narwhal is giving Cha Cha a run for its money as my favorite bar in Seattle. Descending the stairs is like a whirlwind hazy acid trip or something equally crazy. The decor is lovely-- I love the huge space and funky things to look at. They've got all kinds of pinball and old school arcade games upkept by another favorite hang out (Shorty's), a table designed to work and look like an old style ferris wheel seat, lots of booths and seating, a claw game with tons of hilarious stuff inside, a spinning wheel game behind the bar. I love the merry-go-round seating as well, which I am told will eventually house all kinds of different acts. Food needs to be ordered upstairs, but there are several bartenders and a full drink selection down here. The coolest thing that ever happened to me in a bar: I was staring into the claw game, admiring the various prizes when a man walked up to me. "If you could pick anything in there, what would you choose?" Thinking it was just a random question, I quickly pointed out a stuffed unicorn. "That one!" The guy whips out keys and hands me the unicorn! Where else does that kind of thing happen? LOVE at first drink. read more

Seems like a fun place. Decor is cool. I love a theme bar. I came a little out after opening and it was pretty dead. Just one other person at the bar. The whole cocktail menu was right up my alley. I love fruity sweet drinks. I ended up getting the Unicorn Jizz. All drinks were $10-$12 which was pretty cheap coming from Vegas. Service wasn't great. I think it was because it was so slow. The bartender was prepping for the night and chatting with a coworker. I planned on having a couple drinks but ended up leaving after one. I will def be back next time I am in Seattle. I will come at night and hopefully get the full experience. The bathrooms were gross. I get it's a dive bar but to be that bad within a hour of opening is crazy. read more

We came here after they re-reopened in the hope of a fun night out. The interior is quite as dazzling as it looked in the pictures, the drinks were great and we enjoyed the food (esp. the chilli cheese tots)! The staff was also super friendly and they seem to take the Covid restrictions serious. I imagine that the place must have been great fun pre-Covid when it was buzzing with people. My friends and I came to Unicorn right before dinner because we weren't hungry enough yet and why not?! It was happy hour time and we were on vacation in Seattle so let's just take a look at some of their popular bars! Unicorn was on the list of recommended bars to go to when in Seattle. I had no idea what to expect. I didn't even look at the Yelp page for Unicorn or gone through their pictures so it was definitely surprising to see a carnival themed bar. I've never been to a bar that's been decorated like Unicorn has and I don't think Las Vegas has a bar like this either. Everything is decorated so quirky and strange. They had an old Ferris wheel chair there for you to sit in. They also had and old closet somewhere. Heck, I almost half expected to find a clown as a bartender. There's a downstairs too! We went straight down the stairs to see what's there. There was a bar and in the back were some old arcade games, which included pac-man. They had a few pin ball machines as well. There weren't a lot of games so if it gets really crowded at this bar, you probably won't be able to even touch them. We went to the bar first and took a look at their menu. They have some interesting names for their drinks and everything seemed really fruity. The happy hour menu was like $2 off beers and well drinks so it didn't include their cocktails. What a bummer. But no worries, we still ordered them anyways. My friend ordered their Unicorn Jizz and I ordered a Capri Sun. Both drinks were extremely delicious. The Unicorn Jizz tasted like OJ based while the Capri Sun really did remind of the actual capri sun drink. The drinks weren't too strong at all and if I were to come here at night, it might get a little dangerous -- for my liver and for my wallet! Most of their cocktail drinks range between $19-15 so it can definitely add up. We didn't get to try their food so I can't really comment on that. For drinks, I believe you do have to order at the bar and then sit wherever you want. They don't have a waiter/waitress servicing the table. Overall, I think Unicorn is a pretty cool place just to grab a drink and hang out. It was definitely a good experience. Would definitely recommend this place as a stop :) read more

Unicorn is... different. Something special, for sure. The decor is definitely whimsical, there's a lot going on, and you can tell that it's definitely popular. They have an upstairs and a downstairs, with music blaring so loud that it's virtually impossible to hear whoever you're with. However, there's nowhere to dance here, so that didn't really make sense to me. I got the ever-famous Unicorn Jizz to see what they hype was all about. It's definitely good, and it's like 50% alcohol (which I'd hope at $10 a pop) but doesn't taste like it is. Bartenders are nice, the place is definitely worth checking out, AND they have a photobooth! read more

I absolutely loved this place! It was my first time in Seattle and this was the first bar that we stopped at. It was an early evening on Thursday so when we went it wasn't packed at all. I really loved all of their interior decor and their drinks are to die for. I wanted everything on the menu but ended up ordering the Cereal Killer. This really did taste like fruity pebbles. I think if you're in Seattle you should definitely stop here to grab a cocktail. =) read more

This is such a nifty bar. A real.. Capital Hill bar, I'd say and I love it! Their mixed drinks are bomb, Unicorn Jizz is a must try. Sounds funny, I know but don't knock it til you try it! Bartenders are always friendly here. The space is big, there's plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs they have games. A fun place to go after a long day at work. It gets pretty busy over the weekend, be aware of all the bar hoppers if you're coming from out of town. Drinks are reasonably priced and they don't skimp out, they actually used full sized cups unlike other bars/clubs in Seattle. The boyfriend and I took a very introverted, turning 21 daughter here for her birthday because I knew she would appreciate the atmosphere and also the unique drinks. We settled in at a booth and you have to order at the bar-she had initially asked me to just order her drink for her. So I just introduced her to the two bartenders (it wasn't busy at this point in the night), let them know it was her birthday and asked them to help her out with ordering food and drinks if they could. That helped a LOT. They were very friendly and welcoming, and after her first drink she felt brave enough (liquid courage?) to go to the bar alone and order. They have a full bar, and their specialty drinks are fun, SWEEEEEEEET (emphasis on sweet), colorful drinks with names like "Unicorn Tears" and "Cotton Candy" (of course they would be sweet). My party tried their drinks as well as a few drop shots, and as an adult drinker, that's about all the sweet I could do for the night, but the 21 year old was super happy that nothing "tasted like alcohol" (it's funny how our tastes change)! In my opinion the best drink I had was their "Suck Em' Up Fruit Punch", which was cherry vodka, citron vodka, sweet and sour, and squirt. It tasted like a cherry lemon drop. Their limited bar menu is alright. We sampled a corn dog, which was a large all-beef hot dog wrapped around thick batter; a standard cheeseburger with tots (I was told the tots were "great and crunchy!"); white cheddar mac and cheese that you could dress up with bacon or hot dogs; and skin-on French fries. We also got deep fried Oreos which, in our then tipsy state, agreed three wasn't enough! They were excellent and in a small soup of vanilla custard, caramel, whip cream and sprinkles. Sorry, I'm very slow to leave this review. I don't live in Seattle and am not familiar with this neighborhood. On May 4 (2024) I was to meet friends for a show- they all took rail or buses; I drove. I street parked and we went to the show, which ended ~9:45 pm. After, we split up and I went to look for my car. Well, I looked and looked and could not find it! That's when I asked the (outside) security person at the Unicorn if he had any suggestions. He continued to do his job checking ID's and greeting customers, but also was sympathetic and had some useful suggestions. I covered (maybe) about 30 blocks of walking and just didn't find the car. Went back to the Unicorn, he suggested trying the keyfob and sure enough, he spotted the lights flashing on my car. (Yes, I am short). Such a dope little spot down in Capitol Hill. My coworkers and I were out on a business trip and decided to go hangout downtown or wherever good vibes would find us. We walked around for a bit and found Unicorn Bar and we were all very intrigued 1. Because of the name and 2. We didn't know what to expect inside. We ventured into Unicorn bar and realized it was two floors. A little odd of a vibe but it's definitely divey so what can you expect. We ordered drinks at the bar up top and the drink names were too great. (Cheap Date, My Little Pony, etc) After we all grabbed our drinks we headed downstairs to see what other wanders were inside. We found a sweet little arcade area and the prizes in one of the games were too funny (). Ok so I am in love love love with the unicorn balls. I want to go back just to have some more. You cannot get unicorn balls anywhere that taste like this. Well actually you probably can't get unicorn balls anywhere else. Some of the decor was cool (the bar, the bathroom, the bathroom door, the jukebox, etc), but some of it was just scary. It reminded me of clowns, and apparently clowns & circus stuff kind of scares me. It was unique enough that I took loads of pics of this place. The Unicorn is a dive bar that charges full price. The food is decent for fried everything and comes out fast. Get the balls are good (meat or vegetarian). The decor is best described as aging-tacky. It works for what it is but I only go back for friends. The drinks aren't dive bar prices but the drink names and sugary taste are dive bar. Me and my friends were harassed by a security guard who screamed in our faces for using the bathroom together when we were unaware of this rule. When the security guard entered the bathroom and knocked on our stall door- she did not announce herself as an employee. We believed that she was an intoxicated patron demanding we leave the restroom- and it was extremely awkward so we waited a moment and joked around together in the stall- thinking the banging outside was from a random girl. We were waiting for our friend to finish using the bathroom when we left the stall- it did take her a moment- but we did not want to violate her privacy by opening the stall before she was ready. However, upon leaving, the security guard screamed in our ears about how we disrespected her by taking too long. When I say she screamed- I am not over exaggerating. She got in our faces and yelled at the top of her lungs how we were disrespecting her. It was extremely unprofessional and threatening. She slammed the bathroom door in our faces and told additional staff we were not allowed in again despite us apologizing for our unknowing violation of this rule. I feel deeply uncomfortable with this treatment- and really saddened that the Unicorn would hire a person that would make patrons feel so uncomfortable. There is no excuse for yelling at clientele in that extreme of a manner and exerting anger towards people simply using a bathroom. We weren't intending to offend the staff- we simply did not want to open the door to the stall when our friend was actively using the restroom. Please- reconsider who you hire and understand they shouldn't threaten customers. read more
