HospiVet did an outstanding job and I happily paid their fee, less than $400.00 I thought I might have to put my dog to sleep if I could not get him the relief he needed. He stopped eating and I stopped eating because this was such a big problem for us both. After Buddy's successful operation, I recommended HospiVet on Nextdoor many times.

My girlfriend translated for me, and I was told that when I brought him back to have the pins removed, I would only need to pay for anesthesia and medication. Since I had already prepaid in full, they even noted this on the discharge paperwork. Unfortunately, I threw the paperwork away before the appointment. When I returned, I was charged about $200 and told there were no notes indicating the pin removal was covered. A different doctor performed the procedure, which may have contributed to the charge. I expected to pay for anesthesia and medication, but not the additional fee. I paid it, and lesson learned: keep your paperwork. Aside from this issue, the staff were caring, professional, and provided excellent care for my cat. It seemed like a communication issue, but overall I had a positive experience. This will not prevent me from returning in the future.- but I will keep your paperwork!

This review is specifically for the scheduling and communication experience, not the veterinarian…read more I never made it to the veterinarian because of the lack of urgency and follow-through from the front office staff. I first contacted this clinic in April regarding my dog, Teejay, who was diagnosed with an acanthomatous ameloblastoma, an aggressive oral tumor. From the beginning, I explained that I was traveling from Los Angeles and that I have mobility limitations following spinal surgery. Because of those limitations, I repeatedly asked whether my records could be reviewed in advance and whether there was any way to minimize unnecessary trips. They declined and stated I still needed a consult before I would even get the X-rays done. Considering this is a tumor that's aggressive I chose to have the X-rays done here so avoid a trip there. Months later, after obtaining a pathology report, laboratory work, dental radiographs, skull/jaw imaging, and photos, I contacted them again and was specifically instructed to email everything for review. I did exactly that and sent a detailed email with all records attached. Five days later, the response I received was essentially to contact the scheduling department. The problem is that the scheduling department was the same office that had originally instructed me to send the email in the first place. Instead of reviewing the information, I was sent in circles. When I pointed this out, I was disappointed that nobody simply acknowledged the mistake or apologized for the inconvenience. Instead, I was repeatedly told that I should have informed them that I had sent the email and what email address it came from. My full name, contact information, dog's information, pathology report, photos, imaging, and laboratory work were all included in the email. At that point, the issue was no longer the email. The issue was the complete lack of accountability. Even after explaining multiple times that my dog had an aggressive tumor, that I was traveling from Los Angeles, and that I was recovering from spinal surgery, I continued receiving explanations and excuses rather than a simple acknowledgment that the situation had been mishandled. If this is how communication is handled with the client, it did not give me confidence moving forward with a major surgical procedure for my dog. At a minimum, I expect basic communication, follow-through, and professionalism when dealing with something this serious. After reading other reviews from people who traveled from Los Angeles and experienced similar communication issues, I feel I made the right decision not to proceed. Fortunately, I found another veterinary surgeon who reviewed the extensive records I had already gathered. They reviewed the pathology report, imaging, laboratory work, and photos and agreed that no additional diagnostics were needed before moving forward. Surgery has already been scheduled. I cannot comment on the quality of the veterinary care because I never reached that stage. I can only comment on my experience as a prospective client, and unfortunately that experience was disappointing.

It often felt like the nicer the place looked, the less they actually cared about the pets. Because of that, I gave up and kept paying the ridiculous vet prices in San Diego... until I simply couldn't take it anymore. Thank God I found Club de Nana on Yelp. After reading all the great reviews (and yes, they're REAL), I decided to give them a chance, and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was different. The entire staff truly cares about every pet that comes in. They don't see animals as $$$ signs, they listen, they explain, and they care about your fur babies. My first green flag was seeing multiple pets being cared for behind the front desk, literally hanging out freely instead of being locked in cages, I absolutely LOVED THAT!! There are no appointments, you just wait your turn. I've been there four times, and only once did I wait for my turn about 15-20 minutes. Every other visit was less than 5 minutes. The clinic looks like a house from the outside, so parking is limited, but even then I only had to wait about 10 minutes once. I took my 7-year-old pittie because he was bleeding while peeing. They ran different tests, diagnosed him with an enlarged prostate, and recommended surgery (neutering). It's now been 11 days since he got surgery at El Club de Nana, his stitches are out, the bleeding is completely gone, and he's happier and has so much more energy. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the doctors Lulu and Francisco, and the staff at Club de Nana. I have my healthy, happy boy back, and I couldn't be more grateful .

Medical Pet was the only one that answered and even though they were fully booked and closing in less than an hour, they still squeezed my doggy in and saw her. I was so happy when I arrived, the staff was extremely accommodating and wonderful. The clinic is very clean and has parking out front. Only about 10 mins from the border. I paid $160USD for the initial visit which covered the check-up, x-rays, and medications. Extremely affordable and fair pricing. My dog already had stitches on her cheek from another incident and the doctor offered to take them out at a later date. I went back a week after and they didn't charge me anything. She got her stitches at another vet in Poway (we paid $1100 for that visit, NEVER AGAIN). I can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be bringing my puppies here for any veterinarian needs.

Groomers and myself have a hard time trimming them, because shes had a bad experience and ever since it's been tough. They told us to come 09/01 to bring her in for her cleaning. We bring her and front desk told us she'll possibly be done by 3pm. We get a call that there were other pets that had emergencies. We completely understand, but now she'd be done or out by 6-7pm. This entire process took us 12 hours. While her being under anesthesia would be the best outcome for a dog since they wouldn't be moving, they did not care AT ALL about her quicks. I understand that vets/vet techs are challenged with dark nails. But nails were shaven down extremely too short and uneven. She bled on all her nails. It sucks for those who also had a bad experience, everything in front desk felt absolutely rushed. We were speaking to too many different people at a time. Im also unsure if they treated her well during her dental cleaning if this is what her nails look like. I haven't gotten to look at her teeth yet since she's been exhausted after her appt yesterday. I will probably update, or not. I'm not returning to this place.

We've been coming here for several years now for vaccinations for our chihuahua. Located a few miles from the Otay border, I noticed the place when I was having work done on my vehicle at a nearby shop. I dropped in one day and saw the prices, which totally wooed me back! It had started to become inconvenient and expensive here(in US) for us. The prices are super reasonable and of course much lower than anywhere in the US. The quality and level of care is equal to if not better here, yes, believe it! Note: Take the time to exchange dollars into pesos, to avoid miscalculations and improper change back from transactions. On our occasional visits, there has been only one quality, licensed veterinarian that does all the exams and vaccines. Actually, we like this. He remembers our dog even though we come only once a year, and this goes a long way with us. He scolded my wife when she confessed to giving our little dog pork & chicken bones. I warned her.. More of a personal touch. It's never been a long wait time, and we can drop off the dog and hit Wicho's across the street, or shop at Soriana, which happens to be in the same parking lot. We always call ahead,(which I recommend)to make sure the doctor is in that day. It is a full on pet and feed store too with many items for cats, dogs, birds, chickens, etc. They have found a customer for life!!
