Very disappointing experience at the Bank of America branch in Camarillo…read more Yesterday around 1:30pm, My wife and I are Merrill clients and stopped by this branch as walk-in customers because we only needed a Merrill representative to scan and submit some documents to Merrill headquarters. This is normally a simple process that takes about 5-10 minutes. When we arrived, we were told to sit and wait. There was only one Merrill representative working at the time, and he was with another client. We understood that we might have to wait for a while, but what followed was completely unreasonable. We waited for more than two hours without receiving any assistance, updates, or even an estimate of how much longer the wait would be. What was most frustrating was the lack of professionalism and customer service. The staff at the front offered no meaningful assistance and seemed indifferent to the customers waiting. We felt completely overlooked. During the entire time we were there, no one checked on us or attempted to help us find a solution. Eventually, we decided to leave and visit another Bank of America branch. The Merrill representative at that location scanned and submitted our documents in less than five minutes. I have had many appointments with Merrill advisors in the past, and those meetings were typically efficient and professional. Unfortunately, this branch provided one of the poorest customer service experiences I have encountered. Respect for customers' time and better communication would go a long way toward improving the experience here.

It seems like there has been an influx of letters going out to people to claim money or having it forfeited to the state. I don't have a current account (I can get into that another time) with WF. So I had to go to a teller. I arrived around 1:30. I was told the next available banker to assist me regarding this issue, was available at 3:30. So I left to handle other errands. I arrived at 3:20 and Anthony called me up. He was completely transparent about having to call (an internal dept in a call center) and that it was going to take 30 minutes. I was perfectly fine with it. Seems like another person who received the same letter was told by another banker to come back another time. Let's say he was livid about having to come back another time instead of having it handled then and there. After about 30 mins, Anthony was able to get me my money, and I'm on my way. I give him 5 stars as he did all the leg work and didn't give up on making sure I was taken care of. So if you visit this branch, be kind and understanding and ask for Anthony.

I went into the branch because I was given a check by a friend and I wanted to get a rate sheet to can see if my money could do better with Chase. I approached the teller and gave them my check and id. Before I could ask for the rate sheet I was asked if I had an account. I told them I did not and I was told there was a $10 fee to cash it since I didn't have an account. Then the sales pitch started (remember I said they were nice and pleasant).
