My gps was not showing a map in the cloudy, rainy weather and I could only remember some landmarks during my arrival by taxi the previous night. Also, I couldn't find the high beam on the rental car. Initially, I went to the gas station on the corner. They're supposed to help travellers in distress, right? They heard my problems and sent me across the street because "there was a car rental agency there which could help me" ( not mine as it happened this time). So I walked in for help at Hertz. Trevor at the front desk, greeted me pleasantly and asked how he could help. He recognized the street name I wanted; pulled out his cell phone to confirm directions ( 2 minutes from there if you knew the way). Then he put on his cap and walked over in the rain with me to my car, parked literally by the front door of the gas station, and showed me where to turn on the car lights. Before he left me he reviewed my route and reminded me that we had just over-ridden the automatic lights. I would have to switch back when I arrived. It was a perfectly competent, helpful and generous effort. This Hertz agency defines a good neighbor. I am happy for the people who live here. I got to my grandson's bus on time.

The health and safety of my kids were put at risk thanks to you. I cannot say the same for the 2nd experience. I got a quote online for a 3 day rental in Orlando picked up a MCO airport ($332). The in-person sales rep Nelmia straight off the bat tried to upsell us on an upgrade, and made it sound like it was free. It wasn't until we noticed that the final price was greater than our online quote, we had her back out the upgrade. We just wanted the BMW we reserved online, but she switched it to a Volvo (just because we casually mentioned it was the car we drove at home).. Again, we had to get her to revert the order to the BMW. She made further attempts to sell us a pre-paid ez-pass for tolls, but we declined, stating that we wouldn't be travelling anywhere far in Orlando. We declined all protection, but she managed to sneak in protection costing an additional $200, which masqueraded as a security deposit. It wasn't until we received our final invoice (after the trip) that we found out that the extra $200+ was the protection that Nelmia added (without our explicit permission). Why does it have to be this difficult ? Just give me the car I got quoted online, and don't be sneaky about it. She also had the nerve to ask for us to give her a five star review. After hours on chat trying to resolve the additional protection we didn't ask for, customer support said the best they could do is a 50% refund on the protection, leaving us to eat the remainder $100+. Won't be using SIXT ever again after this experience. I gave them 3 or 4 times to make me whole, but got the same 50% refund offer (even after escalating to 2nd level support).

The Keyport Enterprise called me wanting to know when I can return the car because they had "someone looking for this model to rent". I returned the car a couple hours early only to have the rep tell me "there is noticable damage to the rear tire well" . I said I don't see anything. She said there is a "gap". I Still couldn't see any obvious damage. She said she would have to notify the Maryland store and pulled out a flimsy ruler and took pictures. The car I rented had over 36k miles. I looked 4 times at the "gap" and it's was minuscule. Not noticeable unless you are 2 inches away at the base of the wheel well. I took pictures from 12 inches away and you can't see anything. I don't know what type of business they are running here. I have rented from them a few times, but now I am not sure if I can rent or even recommend Enterpeise to anyone.
