General store with souvenirs and snacks/picnic items. There were 2 flushable toilets at the store. You can eat outside or indoors and enjoy the seasonal fresh seafood. I saw lamb banh mi on the menu so that was definitely a first! Parking lot is semi small and we couldn't find parking during lunch time so we had to come back later. When we came back later around 2p-3pm, the oysters were all sold out. $24 for 6. I think Hamma Hamma was around $3 for a shucked oyster. read more

We got here too late for food and dining, but we decided to shop in the market. This place was beautiful and I hope to stop by every time I'm in hood canal. I love how easy parking is to find and maneuver in here. The market had a lot of local items that are incredible like candies salmon. The sweetest shopkeeper is in there and is super child friendly. We were in town for a few days and were hoping to try the outdoor area but it was closed the day we went. I walked around the small grocery and picked up a few things. They offer beverages, wine, snacks and gift/souvenir items. I picked up two adorable raincoats for my dogs and some snacks. The lady at the counter was very friendly and engaging. Owned and operated by Alderbrook Spa and Resort. Complimentary shuttles are provided by Alderbrook if staying at the resort. After done shopping and eating, tell the cashier and a return shuttle will requested for you. Wait time is about 5 minutes from request. Local wares as well as out of state wares are sold in the shop. A variety of specialty food and drinks are also sold. Cans of craft beer/cider or draft beer can be purchased in the shop then consumed at the small dining area overlooking the beautiful water. My bestie and I didn't eat here (only slurped) so we I cannot attest to the food. Complimentary infused water is offered (self-serve) to sip on as well. Large parties can be accommodated. A friend had recommended we try this place by the water. This place offers both indoor and outdoor dining. If it's a chilly day they will offer you blankets. They also have a fire pit that you can sit around to keep warm. Everything we ordered tasted amazing!!! The clams and tacos were our favorite . Had such a wonder experience at Union City Market! My husband loves Oysters...like loves them so much that he searches cities for them. We are from San Diego and came up here to stay at the Alderbrook. The front desk person recommended this place. It was Sunday at 4pm and when we got here they were already closed, but still finishing a few tables. Jonah was there and offered to shuck up the last of the oysters that were available even though they were closed. It was so nice of her to make my husbands day. She went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. We also went in the Union Market Store and picked up a bottle of nice wine and some truffled soft cheese and crackers. It was a cold damp rainy Pacific Northwestern day. The air was thick with fog and moisture the temperature hovered around 35 degrees. We loved the Shrimp Chowder, and the warm potato salad, like many other Restaurants in the Hood Canal Area the Market has an outside kitchen. The staff are just as proficient in opening oysters as they are in building fires in all of the fire pits that surround the outside picnic tables. It's a great place with an awesome view. read more

The chef took some time to chat with us about our trip and what was on the menu the next few days. He also gave us some great tips of places to check out while we're here. This is the best little place in this area. The shop has some unique items and the oyster bar in the back is quaint. Whenever we make a trip to the Hood Canal, Union City Market is a MUST! You can't miss it with a large painted octopus on the wall. They have great souvenirs for friends or family visiting--or just to keep for your own home decor. All of the items are made by Washingtonian hands at very reasonably priced. If you're staying nearby at Robin Hood Village, Alderbrook or somewhere else, the market has a wide variety of local products including cheeses, crackers, canned goods, alcoholic beverages and more to enjoy a picnic or on a boat ride. Keep in mind that they are open all year round but closed Tuesday and Wednesday. read more

It was 2 corn tortillas, each barely half filled, 5 tiny bay shrimp in each taco, 2 pieces of pickled onion on each, and a few flecks of cabbage. There was a tiny bit of salsa on the side, which was good, but for $9?! The tacos themselves weren't excellent, they were okay. Definitely not enough filling for the tortilla. Popsicles are just frozen fruit juice, $2.50 each. Good, but not worth $2.50. I'd say this place is definitely directed at the tourists with how pricey everything is. It was some of the most surprisingly delicious food we've had. The crab Benedict melted in your mouth like butter on warm toast. The portion was a little small so we decided to get the sliders too. The selection is rich and offers everything from local high quality foods and beverages such as live oysters, meat, eggs, smoked salmon, kombucha, beer, wine, high quality sauces and condiments, crackers, chips, homemade ice cream, to local arts and crafts of all kinds.
