This is not a place you go for excellent food; it's a nice place with bar grub with great beers.

Great place to hang out. Good food and friendly atmosphere. Service is great with friendly people

This place is a cool little English pub. They only sell beer. FYI that is no problem because they have such a selection of beer that I'm sure the knowledgeable bartenders can help steer you in the right way. They have plenty of drafts and a large variety of bottled beers. It can be a little smoky in the bar but it is a bar, right? They also serve food. I have tried the hummus, which by the way is pretty darn delicious and their pub dogs aren't to shabby either. The pub dog is a bratwurst topped off with sauerkraut and served with wavy lays. There is a soft spot in my stomach for wavy lays. If you get hungry while your at Union Jack's you could try the hummus or the pub dog because they are both pretty good. I have not tried anything else on the menu but I'm sure that it has to be pretty good. There really is not a particular night to go but the weekends are of course busier then during the week. This little place is a neighborhood bar right next door to Rhouxbarb on Northshore Drive. If your in the area craving a nice cold one then stop into Union Jack's little dark English pub and give it a shot. They also have a pool table, dart boards, and a juke box. And like most juke boxes go, make sure you push play mine first because you never know what some people might play on it. Cheers and Enjoy my friends!

Nitro Boddington's at a great little joint...

Nice little dive bar that is the local spot for English Ales and other European brews. This is our choice for going to get a Boddingtons on nitro. If you have not tried it (Boddington's that is) give it a shot, you wont regret it. The atmosphere is undeniably dive bar - decor is dive bar - exterior is dive bar... But the place is great, and the staff is friendly. GO GO GO Cheers!!

The ADM Nelson is the hands down the best sandwich I've had. Not just that, but with a perfectly poured Guinness, this place is amazing!

Cozy Scottish pub. Tasty food, good brew & whisky selection. Live music! Soccer!…read more On a recent roadtrip, we tried out Boyd's Jig & Reel in Knoxville. At midday on a weekday (spring-2026), this warm-feeling comfortable pub was active but not crowded. Of course we had beer-battered fish & chips: tender sweet cod in a not-too-thick crunchy flavorful coating, with fresh greens, onions, and tomatoes. Served with piping-hot thin fries, hand-cut to give a variety of crispier vs. soft bites. You could get that as a small-plate, as a Po'Boy sandwich, or as a main. And we had a bowl of thick rich flavorful creamy chowder. Delicious, satisfying dishes. They had a nice selection of deep crusty savory pies, too. We loved their amazing range of single-malt whiskeys, including some like a smokey softly-fruity Port Askaig that we haven't seen elsewhere. We liked slowly sipping a strongly-peaty young Islay, like 10-year Laphroaig, and Boyd's also had plenty of smoother well-aged pours up and down the price-range. They also had a nice selection of crafts, ales, stouts, ciders, and several Scottish brews. We saw that they have live music almost every evening (not Mondays), with midday music Sat and Sun. Scottish, Irish, bluegrass, old-time, classic country, and more! Next time we have to fit that into our schedule. And fútball (soccer) of course! Boyd's Jig & Reel is a must-visit in the middle of Knoxville!

They can answer all of your questions and can make recommendations so no need to feel overwhelmed. The interior is cozy, rustic and looks like a Scottish pub I got the rich and decadent and enjoyed. One thing that really endeared me to this bar was the live music. I felt like I was living in a bridgerton scene. I didn't try the food, but the menu looks yummy

It appears you can enter either from the interior door opposite The Oliver Royale Restaurant or from the outside. I never saw the exterior entrance but have heard there's no sign, just a red light above a door. I am not sure how the whole password thing works or where to get it.... I just know the person I was with had it. We sat at the bar and the ambiance is really intimate. I have read now after being home that I guess they hide drink recipes in some of the books? I am not sure if that is true or not. If you can get a seat at the bar, it's so fun. Trey was great, as were the ladies! Trey puts on a little show with each drink he crafts. The drinks are ridiculously good. I would not be able to choose a favorite. I have no clue what the bill damage was, but I can say that between the both of us, we had every drink on the menu. Now I need to find reasons to go back to Knoxville just to go to the Peter Kern Library!

The bar is situated in a strip mall-type situation in Farragut, so there is plenty of parking. There's a great outdoor patio out front as well. Don't plan to stay on your diet here because I think there are about 3 things on the menu: pretzel bites, wings and pizza. We had the pizza and it was truly amazing. Fun, friendly, Cheers-kinda vibe. It was fairly busy when I visited, and there was a line to get beer, which isn't a problem. I happen to see a friend of mine waiting in line to get a beer. I walked over to speak with him. We hadn't seen each other in probably five or six years. Another guy cut in line right in front of him before he could get his beer. Then, when it was my friends turn, the bartender (Josh) was less than friendly. I realize that they're just pouring beer, but the gentleman was decidedly unfriendly, he did not smile even once; he did not even indicate that he was ready to take an order in anyway by acknowledging us with a look or anything. Heck, he didn't even speak to us. Honestly, he was just rude & beyond unfriendly. I don't get it. If you do not like your job, get a new one. If you don't like pouring beer for people (which does seem like a super great job), get a different job. The fact that he would be there on what appeared to be a fairly busy night, which is good for the business, and be so unpleasant is beyond my comprehension. So, the beer selection is very eclectic, with something for everyone. It's super great that you can buy beer to go. The female bartender was awesome. I'm conflicted on what sort of review that I should give Admiral pub, because there were so many positive aspects to it, except Josh pretty much ruined the entire experience by his sour demeanor (although I adore sour beers) and persistent scowl.
