Always our favorite place to end the weekend (Sunday). We like to sit at the bar, & enjoy seeing one of our favorite bartenders, Melissa. If we go on a Saturday, there is Tina. Always very attentive. Food is never a disappointment . I have tried almost everything, but my husband likes the taco's & The Pig. The only ones he orders! I like how the bar has been a little updated , but there could be some improvements, with less paraphernalia behind the bar. Could the drafts be relocated so there is more openness to see the TV's? read more

Our dinner selections were excellently prepared and the buffet was plentiful. Everyone raved about the quantity and quality of food. On top of that, it was very affordable. Been there a few times last few years and was not too bad but last couple times not very good at all... wings were undercooked and during the last visit did not get any food because the older woman bartending near the garage door side took 20 minutes to ask if I wanted to order food even though it was not busy at all and she was talking with other customers the entire time. Obviously service was rude and slow but still felt pressured to give a little tip on a couple drinks I got. Stayed maybe a half hour and left and don't expect to be back for a long time read more

I would eat off the pavement before i would ever eat here again. I was ALWAYS skeptical of this place. I ordered wings and gluten free pizza and the service was great. I asked for diet coke but i could tell it tastes weird either from the ice or the dispenser. I went home and about 4 hours following my dinner i was throwing up everything i ate tjereThen i looked at the health department. Stanley's tavern had 8 violations with the first one being lack of limitation of growth of organisms potentially hazardous. I wouldn't ever return here. If I could leave a zero, I would! Sat in high tops near the bar on a Sunday evening. Server was on another planet. Took 3 hours and didn't get 1/3 items we ordered. Hello neighbors, I've been a customer at Stanley's since 1985. This past Friday 5:30ish the 13th of March I patronize the establishment and sat near their relatively new garage door opening area at the main bar. I asked for my bill at about 7pm ish. Due $13.00. Reached into my pocket and discover I had left home without my wallet. Explained to my wait person and asked what I could do. Manage person came and asked what was problem. I explained I didn't have my cards with me but had my phone with ID, proof of previous purchases, several sorts of easy pay, I am a regular, if neccarry could come right back with payment. Manager said he'd be right back.....never happened. I finally approached my server who then called the manager person back again who said to me 'everything will be good when you pay your bill'. I replied 'We've discussed this and you were telling me you'd return with options, but you have ignored me and I have now had to come looking for you'. That's when everything went to hell. I said for goodness sake I'm a regular 'let me wash some dishes if that will make things better'. .....Not good negotiating.... I was shortly pushed out the exit door next to the garage door unit with the help of four staff members. I think things got more complicated, and even angry, when I insisted that they first open that door before I went through it. I'm not sure that everyone who got involved because I didn't have my wallet had to have such a bad time at Stanley's. I will be back during the day this week of the 16th to pay my tab. First time at this place and for sure will not come back! Undercooked chicken ! Told the waitress and nothing was done. Went home and threw up right away! I recommend never stepping a foot in this place! read more

Stanley's is TGIF food meets local watering hole/pub vibes. We ordered a turkey burger and a full rack of ribs. Turkey burger was surprisingly good, I normally find them to be too dry but not Stanley's turkey patty! Ribs on the other hand were quite dry. But 3 half racks was a nice touch. I definitely left Stanley's with a full tummy. I would come back to catch a game and drink a few cold ones. read more

Service at the bar was terrible!!The chicken cheesesteak, chicken tenders, sweet potatoe fries and zuckini fries were good! Now about the service..... Arrived today (Friday) at 4pm, we sat at the bar because there were seats. Bar is small, only about 25 seats. It took at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged. We ordered drinks and were asked if we wanted a menu and we said "yes". Bartender never gave us menus and never came back to us and it wasn't busy. They were too busy talking to locals the evidently come in every day. Leaning on the bar and talking. After about 10-15 minutes, we asked again for a menu. Bartenders only talk to regulars, never check the bar and look down if they have to walk by. Very disappointed with the two bartenders have been there for years. At 5pm a new bartender came in and was slammed because the other two hadn't waited on tables or most of the bar. She was running around trying to help all of us. The new bartender was great! The other bartenders couldn't care less about service, just routine for them. You need to hire some new people because you are losing a lot of customers! We won't be back. read more

Took a trip to Stanley's Tavern on an early Saturday. Immediate seating available. Recently bought by Ashby Hospitality Group, not much has changed on the menu or the decor. However you feel a change in the mood Now to the food. Mostly a 3 maybe 4 star. I had the white pizza and it was more like a soup than a pizza. My wife had the Ahi Tuna Salad and the tuna was good but the salad was soaked in dressing making it more oily than salad. Good place for a beer and ok pub food but Ashby Hospitality Group need to overhaul the menu and bring Stanley's up to the same standards as there other taverns. read more

we were sitting at the bar when grumpy Donald D was there. they had 1 beer and in that short period he judged the manager who was helping his bartender. The bar was crowded and both the manager and bartender were hustling to wait on customers. I guess some people just wake up on the wrong side of the bed everyday. read more

My wife and I have been going to Stanleys for over 20 Years up until Sunday 11/7/25. I have never been treated with such disrespect as and rude treatment as we did from the bartender who I later found out was the manager. When I ask the other bartender for the manager we were shocked to find out this guy was also the bartender/manager... Staff is very efficient. Place is very clean. Food is delicious. Their salads are made with such wonderful presentation. Cheesecake egg rolls are out of this world. Great place for a bar scene too. read more

I have known Jim T. for over 20 years. When you walk into Stanley's, there he is getting your drinks ready without even asking because he knows what you order. You see the same service with other regular customers because he provides great customer service to everyone. My family goes when Jim is there because we know he will treat us like family. I am severely disappointed after 30 years of service that he was terminated without notice. I was willing to give Stanley's a chance since ownership changed hands because of Jim but with him gone, there is no reason to go back. This is going to hit Stanley's bottom dollar hard as I see from other customers that they had that same rapport as we did. He is one of the best in the business. read more

Went to Stanley's on Veteran's Day and received a complimentary half rack of ribs with a side. Probably the best ribs I've ever had- amazing sauce, cooked to perfection, and fall off the bone tenderness. Our bartender Melissa was kind, professional, and attentive. Someone said she has a reputation for being the best bartender in the area, and I don't doubt that for a second. The free ribs are an amazingly kind gesture, and I'm very grateful. We came here because they are famous for their ribs but to be honest I wasn't impressed. I assume for Delaware this is a good place for bar food , drink and watch sports with friends. It was busy! Used to love coming to Stanley's but since the new year things have really gone down hill. First our favorite bar tender was let go after 30 years and now to say the food is sub par would be an understatement. On 3 occasions my burger buns have literally fell apart before I could even take a bite. Sent one back 3 times before I just said 'whatever'. It's obvious there is a new chef or new standards as even the once excellent ribs are not much better than getting a McRib from McDonalds. It's really sad, this was a cool place but I think we will be trying one of the dozen other pubs in the area. read more

Service. Food. Beer. Ambiance. This place has it all. Quesadilla was way above what I expected, best I've had in a non Mexican restaurant. Our server, Kia, made us her "secret sauce" for our ribs which fell off the bone and were to die for. Pickleback wings were a great twist and cooked perfectly. 1935 sauce was good as well. Brussels sprouts are a must pick side. "The World's Smallest Sundae" was cute and actually a perfect size for the end of a meal. Ordered take out fish and chips and 1935 chicken sandwich. Fish and chips had no chips and only a few pieces of greasy fish. No tarter or cocktail sauce despite person on the phone specifically asking which we wanted. 1935 sandwich was a piece of breaded chicken on a bun. No sauce, no lettuce tomato and chicken should have been grilled and not breaded. Would have been better and cheaper at Chick-fil-A. That has always been my favorite and it has never been this horrible.Have lived in the area my whole life and frequented Stanleys for years. Never again. read more

Crab cake was delicious. Fries good. Broccoli . .. well the pieces I had were good but the majority of it looked unwashed like they picked it out the dirt and threw it in a pot. Stanley's used to be our favorite place until the new owners decided to start getting rid of the old employees. Jim, the bartender gave us the best service we've ever had and is the reason we went every week. He made it special. Now Stanley's is just like every other place around. Stanley's is amazing!! It is a very Cheers like place. Tonight I had the 1935 Chicken sandwich. It was delicious!! The jalapeños and sauce were amazing on it. The cole slaw was good but heavy on the mayo. I had a delicious RAR beer. The beer list here is extensive. The staff is super fun. I love playing Buzztime Trivia which you can play anywhere in the two bars or restaurant. read more

This is a fairly laid back place to take the kids. We came here on a Saturday night and had a nice table tucked away from traffic - did not get any reception from our spot either. We wanted to try the ribs and I was also interested in the salmon so the rib combo was a definite when. I appreciate that there were sauce and style options for a tavern as well. We got our food pretty quickly and our server was kind enough to express concern that our plates were hot. I liked the ribs with the salmon and the Parmesan green beans were a healthy portion as well. We definitely are looking forward to coming again sometime soon. read more
