I feel bad saying this but many of their food items don't taste good. I've been here four times since I live nearby. Their chicken fried rice and pork kastu just doesn't taste good. They are not worth the price at all. Their dynamite roll was OK but, at their price, it's better to go somewhere else. Their Boba drinks are OK. I mostly come back cause the space looks nice, boba drinks are affordable and the service is nice. I feel bad giving them a poor review because the staff seems friendly but they need to overhaul their menu and get a better cook. I won't be having their food again. Also, this is a cafe that doesn't sell coffee other than the iced coffee. Adding a few hot coffee options and hot tea options would change the game especially if it's served tea house style. read more

The Yuzu Cheesecake is amazing but small for its price. The atmosphere in the cafe is clean and pristine but the TV's in the corner of the restaurant had some interesting things to present. The ramen is great and the Matcha Cream cheese drink was the best thing in the menu. The restaurant doesn't not have a greeter so come in at your own convenience! Came here to support a local business in our community. Cool, hip vibe, kind of modern, well lit, playing K-pop ( I think) music. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Food was really good! I had Chicken Karaage for an appetizer, which is similar to popcorn chicken. This was super crispy outside, juicy inside, and had great flavor! For my entree I had the shrimp pan roast fried rice. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and I felt the amount of shrimp served was very generous. The rice was different than I expected from the menu picture. It was kind of creamy, with I believe a tomato based sauce. It was similar to risotto, and not like the fried rice I'm used to. It was very good, but like I said, not as I expected. This is on me, not the cafe. The portion size was very good. I recommend this to anyone wanting to try something new. I will go back again and explore more of the menu. read more

unfortunately was very disappointed, I've had this place a few times and the ramen is pretty good so I would not order anything aside from that. Went in, and ordered a tuna roll and it has the weirdest taste, like old store bought sushi. Made us feel sick shortly after. To make it worse, there was someone sitting next to us with a dog they let just lick the table and made us grossed out, wasn't even a service dog. Visited for lunch and it was pretty quiet. The inside is super clean and a great ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive, also made great suggestions when we weren't sure what to get. We ended up ordering the Creamy Curry Udon and the Crunchy Dragon Roll. Both of them did not disappoint, the Crunchy Dragon Roll was my personal favorite but the Curry Udon was such a delicious flavor. We live in the area and have been curious about trying this place out since we typically commute to get good ramen. Pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, the crunchy dragon roll and a California roll. It was good lots of flavor and good portions. I agree with a previous review that it was missing the soft boiled egg but other than that we were very happy with the food and service. The restaurant itself was very clean, good music and nice ambiance. The servers were quiet but sweet and attentive. Food came out extremely quickly. I ordered 2 spicy tonkotsu ramens and 1 order of chicken karaage.... $45 later and I'm not sure if this place was a hit. Granted, we came on a very busy day as it was the cruisin reunion 66 but they had ran out of rice! This is a cafe that seemingly has Japanese inspired food, sushi rolls, ramen, rice bowls, Japanese appetizers; now if you run out of rice on an extremely busy weekend and half of your menu not available; it can be extremely disappointing. We were never asked if we wanted our order to go or for dine in but they decided to give it to us in to-go packaging; as we say down to eat, we prepared our ramen that was packed into a plastic bowl.... Now if I serve very hot broth on the side and I am expected to eat it at the restaurant why would I want it in a plastic bowl. The chicken was good but the portion seemed small for the cost of $10. Now the ramen broth itself was decent, spicy and had flavor, but the toppings of corn, haphazardly chopped fish cake and bamboo shoots; well it was very lack luster as well considering we only got 1 piece of pork!!!! $16 bowl and we only got 1 piece of pork! Honestly I've gone to most ramen spots in the area and none cost this much without warranting a good serving of meat. Overall, unique cafe was definitely unique... the place itself is extremely nice and they have a cool selection of alcohol but I would come back to try their sushi and other rice dishes. Ordered the teriyaki beef bowl and kid ordered the shrimp fired rice. Both dishes had way overcooked rice think oatmeal texture didn't see any evidence of frying on the fried rice. Shrimp was ok. Teriyaki beef bowl had clearly frozen veggies with some of the veggies still quite cold it's ok to use frozen veggies but really need to heat them consistently makes me think they were microwaved. Honestly Trader Joe's make better frozen meals. Music was loud and server was extremely quiet made it hard to order. Also they had music videos playing that were not what the overhead music was very odd. Would not go again. read more

This place is literally a fave now! The inside is so damn cool. There's seating if you want to meet up with a friend and chill, or if you want to bring your laptop and do work. Of course there's seating to eat! I absolutely love the inside and how clean it is. My only recommendation is that the sign and name of this place out front should totally match the badass aesthetic of the inside! It needs to be able to draw people in just with a cool sign outside otherwise how will people know to check this gem of a place out? Other than that, the food is 10/10. Ysa & I came here Saturday and totally forgot there was a Christmas Fair outside. Parking in the back was still easy. The restaurant is light and airy inside and the staff was pleasant. I had the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. The flavor of the broth was deep and not over salted. The pork and other ingredients were also good. The noodles however were overcooked and mushy. The Dynamite Dragon Roll presented well and the tempura shrimp were good. There was way too much sweet eel sauce on the roll to the point where I couldn't taste the fish. It would have been much better with only 25% of the sauce. Ysa had the Okonomiyaki which was tasty. She had previously brought her sister (who had lived in Japan for 20 years) who said it tasted the same as in Japan. We also had the Spicy Edamame which was delicious. We shared the Matcha Cheesecake for dessert. It was understated as is typical with Japanese deserts and delicious. All in all we enjoyed eating here and will be back. Downtown Ontario is a tough place to do business and I hope that they can thrive there! read more

Sorry, no pics to share. I ordered 3 plates for lunch at work, going by the pics on yelp - Tom yum yakisoba ($20) and gyu don ($16). The yakisoba had enough flavor but the presentation was nothing like the picture. The noodles were clumped and short and it looked like someone's leftover they packed in the container to go - not a pretty sight nor was it appetizing. The gyu don was beautiful and delicious, though the meat to rice ratio was way off. For $16, the bowl was small (less than 6" inside diameter and about 3" deep) - I think I'll go to yoshinoya next time I want one for a lot less. On a positive note, the place looks very cozy and upscale with sofas as well as regular tables. It's clean, displays are impressive and the person who took and gave my order was very friendly and helpful - 5/5 for her and the ambience. I could see myself spending the day there, munching on food I brought in but that would be so disrespectful. But I'm rating the food and value for the price, and although I really want this place to thrive, I wish the food could be better for the price. The food here is amazing, and so is the owner, Soon! We came in about an hour before they closed, but the service was still phenomenal - engaging, friendly, and helpful, all with a smile on their faces. We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, the Cream Curry Udon, the Cream Udon, a few drinks, and a few appetizers such as Veggie Gyoza (so good!) and Spicy Edamame (seasoned so well). Every single food item was delicious, and it was clear that each dish was carefully crafted. Everything was so flavorful, but not a single dish was over-seasoned or salted. The Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen even had a bit of a kick to it! The broth on both of those ramens was so rich and flavorful, and actually tasted like bone broth. For the cream udons, the chicken was so soft and tender, and not dry AT ALL. The udon noodles were also cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chewiness. We also ordered a few drinks, all of which were delicious! We had a Jasmine Green Tea lightly sweetened, which was not bitter and had just the right hints of floral that we love, the Mango soda, which was a bottled drink but delicious and smooth, and the three "specialty drinks" - the Boba Milk Tea, the Influencer Cake Milk Tea, and the Signature Boba Milk Tea. All three were rich and creamy, and although next time we will definitely order them less sweet (personal preference), they were delicious! The Influencer Cake Milk Tea was so thick and fluffy, it tasted like egg pudding. Of course, having tried so much already, we also had to give the desserts a try, too. Love the creaminess of the Matcha Tiramisu and how light and subtle the Yuzu Cheesecake was! The Matcha Mont Blanc Cake was very Matcha-forward, and the Matcha cream reminded me of the texture of a red bean paste - it was also delicious, but not my favorite personally. There's plenty of close parking, seating, and the music isn't overwhelmingly loud like most places that serve alcohol. Don't know if I was supposed to seat myself but not a single employee looked my way or said anything, also was passed by 2 of the employee or maybe the owner and an employee and not even eye contact. I wanna start by saying when my girl and I first found this nice place we loved the decor and the inside , but besides that everything else was bad specially the fact that no one would come to our table . We thought this was a nice cafe and we came to find out everything served was pre cook. Eventually we decided to give it another shot and came back a couple months later . The place improved a lot and I really mean it . Food was better we were served by a nice young lady and the owner . It was noisy inside because they had a bunch of people from the city that felt that they were at a private venue because they kept being noisy and obnoxious even one of them kept standing right next to our table with her ass right next to my face (no joke ) . All this was not in its entirety fault of the cafe but of the people from the city . Owner saw our discomfort and apologized multiple times so it was nice over all . After what in my opinion was a way better second try of this place , I came again , a young lady wearing regular clothing (no uniform at all) helped us , I wanna say she was nice over all but you could tell she had no training or experience on this kind of industry because her customer hospitality was none existent. She came a couple times to the table but mostly was in the back talking to the other lady . No questions were asked for example : how is your food ? Can I get you more water ? Would you like a desert ? . All regular restaurants etiquette, none . I left a no so great 12% tip due to the service I tend to leave more than 20% because I know how is it to work in this industry. All this things can be fixed if the owner pays attention to them closely . Restaurant/food industry can be harsh and difficult if not done properly , I work on it myself . I write this review not to shit on the place because is nice to have a place like this near home . I write this review for the owner to read and with all due respect get his business together , because I believe that with the right training and the proper care this will be a really nice spot .
