Update: service today was good but the price increased significantly. Body scrub and massage with sauna and shower was well under 2 hours. Over 30 percent price increase to $105. They won't take coupons as this is their special discount price. This review is based on the services for body scrub, facial and wrap. This included the sauna. The girls downstairs are wonderful hard workers and they do absolutely an amazing job. I highly recommend the body scrub as it's an awesome experience. After some time in the sauna, they use lots of salt scrub and massage it vigorously onto your whole body with two hands. I recommend this service over a regular massage. It really wakes up your skin. After the scrub is the wrap for a few minutes and then they put you in a hot shower to wash off. You dress bottoms and use a top upper body robe for your facial. This was also a good face cleansing massage including a scrub and mask. Sign up for their offers as they do all the above for an amazing $59 deal. No coupon needed just mention combo of body scrub, wrap and facial offer and speak to Marina. I will recommend this service to all my friends and followers. My last service was the mani-pedi. I found this service to be a bit pricey for $37 but I did get some cheesecake and water while I was there and some very friendly service. This takes place in a small room with no massage chair or bubbles for feet. No scrub and really a very basic mani-pedi. The end result was nice but there are many good options in the area. They may have offers during the week for this service but I'm not sure. They also take care of hair on your head and body. In all this is a memorable experience. read more

I had a 10 am appointment on a weekend and was running late due to the trains and I called and they understood and waited for me. Don't be scared when you walk in and see someone getting their hair cut. I swear, I thought I walked into a barbershop. I think the best time is weekday morning. I absolutely love this place. I spa hop a lot to get new experiences and this is by far one of the best affordable spots I've been to EVER. They have 3 treatments for 60.00! You cannot beat that. Scrub,wrap, and facial. I decided to add on a 30 minute massage for only 30.00 and that was amazing too!!! The spa is super clean, they have nice showers with steam and multiple jets shooting out at you. There is also a dry sauna that you can relax in. I've been to Unique Spa 4 times so far (only checked in 3 times tho, sorry Yelpers!) Now, every new place anyone goes to, has positives and negatives. Let's be for real here people, go with the flow. There are 2 ladies that perform the treatments. They are both excellent. Funny enough, one I like her facials better and the other I like her scrubs/body Mask technique better. (Shrugs shoulders) either way I'm Happy! Sometimes it gets a little hectic, if there are several clients being catered to (it's a small place) .... of course we all want to be the only one around. ... the towels could be softer. .. The only Real issue I have is that there isn't an envelope to tip the Spa girl after you pay at the register. ... so I gave the tip money to the Nail Lady! .. This place has destroyed my hair in unimaginable ways. My hair now because of THEM is falling out, it's beyond any way of repairing and I have to cut my hair now. My hair personally is valuable to me and now I can't even look at myself in the mirror without wanting to cry. I usually go to Professionals when I want to do any type of work on my hair, sadly I picked the wrong place this time. These people, I wouldn't even consider professional, please do not come here if you love or value your hair in any way. I opted for the Groupon treatment of scrub, wrap, and facial. I also decided to tack on a hot stone massage for $85. When I showed up for my appointment, I was asked politely to sit and wait. Without introduction the massage therapist took me downstairs and gave me a very brisk scrub...I'm not sure if that's just the spa's style...or if the lady was just in a hurry. She then slathered me in icky smelling mud. (I don't mean icky as in earthy or mud-smelling...but a very chemical scent) I was then enclosed in" the pod" for 30 minutes where I was wrapped in plastic and relaxed. I had the sneaking suspicion that my massage therapist didn't know very much English, because she kept saying "Welcome, welcome" after whatever I said. The sauna was a nice touch...though I must say I'd rather have towels to use without holes. The place didn't look very dirty, but the lights were dim. My biggest issue was with the $85, hour-long, hot stone massage. The lady kept leaving, and only used the stones for a portion of the massage. My request for harder pressure on my back and shoulders fell on deaf ears...maybe the language barrier again? The therapist just ran her hands over me more than massaging. The massage was basically a waste of money, in my eyes, because my muscles were still sore and felt no difference when I left. After the massage was the facial, which seemed rushed and did not include extractions. There was also an issue where I was told I could not tip on a credit card, even though I paid with one, and there was a bit of awkwardness where I had to run out to the ATM for tipping purposes. Perhaps Groupon users are treated differently here, I would not return to Unique Salon & Day Spa. read more

I will have to re-review if I go again. The staff is super friendly... I really enjoyed my scrub.. though I must say I booked the scrub and wrap.. I was in the sauna for 10 minutes... and the scrub was about 15 minutes and the wrap was about 25... I was under the impression that the scrub was longer but I am not complaining because I felt it was a job well done. I will complain about the facial. My face was cleaned, then I was placed under a steamer for 15 minutes, then a mask was put on... I was left there for almost 30 minutes...... then my face was washed and lotion was applied... and thats the facial -__-. I was disappointed with that. I had underarm wax which was done wonderfully. Again very friendly.. friendly enough that I would go back. But I would not go for a facial... honestly I felt like I paid for something I for sure could have done at home. I went to Unique Spa yesterday 5-10-16, but It's not the 11th and I've had the time to mentally process my experience so I can share it with all of you. Listen ladies ( and gentlemen ), we all have standards and we want what we expect from our money. I read a bunch of the reviews just so i can get an idea and what i should include in my own because i tend to go off on a rant. Some of the complaints I could say I would agree with, but some ladies were really low balling this place and I just want to set it straight. Don't walk in here expecting to be dazzled with looks, because believe me, for the price youd better just say thank you. I saw on groupon a deal for a brazilian wax, so I got two, for a friend and myself. I made the appointment that same day ( in some places you can't even do that) parking was a bitch but i called and the ladies were understanding. When my friend and i arrived, it looks like a salon with a door in the end of the room (where the wax took place) and stairs leading down for the spa festivities. The ladies here speak russian so if thats a plus for you then there you go, it was for me. It was my first time getting a wax and the girl was really friendly and great at relaxing me. Waxing hurts ladies!!! So i dont know why people write reviews shocked at that fact. Youre ripping hair out of a sensitive area, cry me a river and get over it. She was very nice and at the parts that were more painful than others she used counterpain techniques on me. To the owner: i appreciate the place, the price and the professionalism. My only complaints is your leaking ceiling tiles that did drip on me a few times and that is the only reason for 4/5 stars. I got a Brazilian wax from Natasha and she did a great job! My appointment was at 12:30pm and I was prepped at 12:40pm and done at 1pm. I was nervous of the pain because I haven't gotten waxed since January. It was quick and easy, probably the best wax I've gotten. read more

For the price that you pay, which is way cheaper than anyone or anything else, this place is the best. They will honor deal prices for ever, if you continue to get the service regularly. Yes, it's a bit rough around the edges, but the employees are great when you get to know them. I don't know how many times I have rescheduled or missed appointments, and they are always accommodating. Hello, my tween-age daughter and I went here for hour long facials as the place was having a special. My facial was pleasant but the woman gave me a hand massage in which she manipulated the joints in my fingers and one of my fingers has been swollen and in pain since. My daughter says that the woman who gave her a facial did not do any masks or massages, steamed for one minute and then proceeded to do painful extractions for 45 minutes. When my daughter couldn't take it anymore and tried to ask her to stop, the woman reportedly told her "I don't speak English" and kept doing it. Needless to say I would not recommend this salon at all, it was overall a very bad experience. read more

Unfortunately I did not have a positive experience in this salon. The owner was quite polite as well as the girl who took care of me. But that's about it. I am really big on cleanliness. And I didn't have a feeling that it was present in the salon. So I had body scrub. For that I had to go to sauna for 20/15 minutes, which is fine. But what is not fine is the following: they give you shower cap, disposable panties , towel and flip flops. The shower cap was plastic and was supposed to be disposable , but it was not in the package, so I didn't even know if it was used before by someone else, the flip flops- I'd rather have disposable ones!!!!! Then what struck me the most- the room where you change has a tall rack of towels- so some of the towels are SO RUBBISH!!! Horrible, disgusting!!! Then we went into the room for scrub, I didn't get the feeling of cleanliness either. The bed where you are lying down had some really suspicious foil wrap and plastic wrap. Then after the scrub itself, I covered myself into the towel in order to go to the shower to wash off the chocolate ;)So I expected to have a fresh towel as the one I was wrapped in had chocolate on it, and quite a lot. I was mistaken- no other towel for me;(( And by the way the liquid soap in the shower was diluted with water so much, so I barely felt any soap. Then the facial came. The girl did not even wash her hands ;( too sad. She put the gloves on, but come on!!! One should wash the hands before the donning the gloves. It was the most painful facial in my life !!! And besides the pain, I expected at least to have clean face, didn't happen either- I still have as much black heads on my nose as I had before facial. So I got really bad experiences. read more

I brought a voucher on yelp and tried to call for an appointment. I was then informed that the voucher was not good for weekend, which I understand. However, then they ask me for the code, which I then gave them my redemption code. I was told "it was not the correct one" and instead of helping me they simply told me "find it and call back" and then hung up on me......... that was truly rude and disrespectful. If you don't want to honor the vouchers then don't offer them. Even though I'm losing the money, I am definitely not going there and would recommend everyone who's considering the voucher to watch. read more

Horrible place to go! I went there once to color my hair. First of all, the hair stylist was late for the appointment. She never offered me to choose the color, but said she's gonna do me the same color as I had. Although, I wanted something different. So I made her bring me the book and showed the color I wanted. Well, I believe the hair "specialist" decided I need another color - not the one I picked and not the one my hair was - not even close! In fact, the new color was DISGUSTING!!!! I was about to cry! I told the hair stylist that it was all wrong and looking awful and that she had too do soething about it. SHe did another procesing for me. I was upset because my hair had to go under 2 coloring processes at 1 time. I was so disappointed and wanted to get out from there as soon as possible before those spa specialist did somethig horrible for me again. After all, the owner of the spa (Marina, I believe) said that I had to pay for both proceedings as it was my fault that I didn't like the first color result. My experience: never go there for any procedures even for free! I think the positive reviews that they have are the ones that they wrote themselves. The place turned out just as I expected , very cozy but definitely busy (I came on a Friday ). My nails (mani pedi) turned out great so no complaints and my eyebrow wax went well thank goodness. This spa is great for the money! I booked an appointment for a body scrub, a body mud wrap, and a facial with Nessa. (Which, all three, under $100!) Nessa was very professional and inviting. She greeted me at the entrance and brought me downstairs to the spa. The actual spa was a hidden gem (considering my hesitation from the bustling upstairs nail salon); serene, quiet, and clean. She, then, offered me some tea and escorted me to the sauna and gave me a robe. I relaxed in the sauna for about 10 minutes, where I was then brought into a room where she scrubed me down and applied the mud. I was wrapped up and then layed for about 30 minutes. So relaxing! Once I showered the mud off, my skin felt amazing! The relaxation continued when Nessa started the facial. She was very knowledgeable on my skin concerns and gave me an awesome massage while I waited for my mask to dry. Unique is inexpensive and had all the amenities that I look for in a spa. I got a groupon to have a facial, body scut and body wrap. It all lasted for about 2 hours, the facial was an hour and the scrub and wrap another hour, which was more than I expected. The staff was confused at first, they didn't seem to know how to deal with the groupon, but once they figured it out they were very professional and took their time. The only 2 things I would change would be for them to get new towels, because the ones they have are raggedy and also their music isn't very relaxing. Besides that I have no complaints, my skin has never felt so soft and clean. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back! read more
