My upstairs neighbor and I came in on a Saturday around 11am-12pm and it was not busy. I first noticed the cleanliness and way the salon was well kept. We sat down and the women who did our nails were super kind. I am a short square French tips gal but decided on a white polish this time. They took their time and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked my nails. Would definitely come back. I have never had a worse manicure in my life This girl was completely clueless. She can't file. Can't cut cuticles. Can't give a massage. Terrible job for $70!!! I was quoted $55 when I scheduled my apt. I get there they tell me the price is actually $65. They say the card machine is down so I need to pay cash. That's fine. I got to the ATM next door and get $80 out bc i needed to have extra cash on me. I hand her $65 and she harasses me for a tip saying they only get paid in tips and that it's $70 now. A tip is something optional which I explained to her and she said no it's $70 not $65 I would have been happy to give a tip if I had actually received decent service. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I ended up handing her the extra $5 and left bc I wasn't going to cause a scene by arguing with her. This place is extremely unprofessional. They also used a sand bit drill head on my nails that had dust on it from someone else's nails. *update* it's the next day and my fingers are in pain from all the places she cut my cuticles too much! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I never post negative reviews, I try and give a business the benefit of the doubt if I have an off experience as I know how hard it is to be a business owner, however, I really feel the need to speak out about Nail and Mee in Bay Ridge. I started going to them last summer and stopped because several times I would wait for over and hour while they took people in front of me that walked in after...sometimes they claimed these people had appointments, sometimes they don't give a reason at all. It seems to me that people that were religious regulars (coming in at least once a week) got to come in and cut the line (sorry I can only afford to come every 2-3 weeks so I am not a full regular). I devises to give them another chance and the same thing just happened. When I walked in there was no one ahead of me....yet I waited almost an hour because they proceeded to take the next three people that came in well after me because they supposedly had appointments. Sorry, something is not working here. I've been to many nail salons in my lifetime, all of which appointments as well as walk ins an I have never ever experienced anything like this!! It's poor management big time. Save your time...there are so many nail salons on bay ridge, there really is no reason to deal with this kind of nonsense here. Trust me. I used to love this place, and it used to be packed all the time. I really hate to give them one star. The quality went majorly downhill within the last year. I begrudgingly paid for the worst "professional" pedicure I've ever had, and I'm going to have to go home and re-do it. I suppose the sign on the wall saying they don't issue refunds should have been a warning sign that too many people were unhappy and didn't want to pay for such a subpar job. So frustrating... I will start off by saying that i have been going to the same nail salon for over 10 years- so i can say that i am probably bias when it comes to other places. However, i decided to give this place a try because it is a block away from my house- versus my regular spot which is back in my old neighborhood. Anyway, the place is a nice size, the staff is nice, they work fast, the wait isn't too long, the prices are fair and you even get a couple minute massage when you dry your nails. So why only 2 stars? I have been here a handful of times, but my most recent visit will probabaly be my last. I am pretty easy going, and i don't think i am a pain in the ass when it comes to certain things. I am not a perfectionist and it's ok if every centimeter of my nail is not covered in polish, or if one of my nails is a bit longer than the other. But if i come in for a manicure- the least you can do is remove all the polish prior to putting on new polish. I went in a couple of weeks ago with a dark gray polish on, and chose a very sheer pink color. Why did she neglect to remove the polish from the underside edges of my nails? I saw it a little bit before i left, but i didn't want to be a nag, so i didn't say anything. However, when i went outside, and i was in the sun, it looked as though there was dirt on the edges of all my nails. So, i decided to go back. Why should i pay for something and tip someone for something if they do not complete the service? So i went back and nicely asked for her to remove the rest of the polish. Why did she proceed to literally jab that damn wooden stick under each one of my nails when the polish was at the edges of my nails? It's as though i was now made to suffer just because i asked her to finish what she should have done in the first place. All in all, the majority of the girls there are very nice- and they do a good job, but this person just really ruined it for me, so i don't think i will be returning. read more

When they first opened they were really attentive and provided outstanding customer service. I was a dedicated loyal customer. As time went by, it's like they lost their touch. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt. When I would make appointments they never kept their commitment. I often had to wait 20 minutes. When I would get my gel manicures they always rushed to get to the next person. The last straw was when I went to get a manicure and pedicure and after soaking my feet for 15 mins, the owner asked me if I could get up because they had an appointment with someone else. I went to Swan and Beauty and they treated me like the way a customer should feel. They charge more, however, it's not about the price but the value of the service. The salon itself is clean and well kept. They have recently raised their prices to be on par with the rest of the nail salons in Bay Ridge. The place is usually packed. I have never made an appointment but have been bumped several times when "appointments" come in. You can easily wait 30 minutes just for a manicure/pedicure, which seems ridiculous to me when you consider all of the nail salons in the area. They do ok work; there are some better than others. As an early pre-birthday gift, I was taken to Nail & Mee for a pedi and mani. I am always nervous about being a first timer at a nail salon because I have had some bad experiences. However, Nail & Mee definitely met my expectations. The place is large, clean, and full of friendly smiling staff members. Although, they were getting busier in the afternoon, they work fast and do a great job. I also love the fact that they carry OPI products, which is not something you find in every salon. Last night I called and made an appointment for when they open and also inquire about the cost of soaking off my acrylic nails to then just receive a regular manicure. The owner tells me it's $5 and she would do it. I was thrilled. I get there this morning to sit for my pedicure and the owner sits next to me with a cuticle cutter and a metro card and starts ripping off my nails ( something I could of easily did myself, but opted not to due to pain ) she's doing this while I am trying to get a pedicure and be relaxed. On top of it all, a women comes in waiting on the pedicurist that I have and once she sees this customer she rushes through the rest of my pedicure. While the owner is tearing apart my nails and winds up charging me $7 instead of soaking them in acetone. I was furious. I would not suggest this place to anyone! read more

Horrible!!! I have been going here for about a year now, and they have always been a good salon. However, at my last visit, after waiting 40 minutes past my appointment time, the girl goes to give me a pedicure with used tools still covered in someone else's skin! I asked to speak to the manager who then told me they had no clean instruments, and if I wanted they could clean it with an alcohol pad (umm, no). So, in other words, if I had not said something they would have used dirty tools on my feet without saying a word. Will NEVER be going back here again. read more

Love this place!! I go to Vanessa who is always so polite and super sweet. She knows what she is doing and it shows. I always have a successful visit when I come to do my nails and feet. The store is well kept nice and clean and it feels like a real spa. I used to go someplace else in the area and the place lacked positive energy. It just felt like a chore to go rather than a luxury. I've only ever had pedicures here (I don't get my nails manicured), and I've only been a bit dissatisfied once; every other time I got a pedi I was very happy. Have had to wait 10-15 minutes once or twice, but more often than not I'm in the pedi chair within 5-10 minutes of walking in. It's also quite convenient, as I live less than a block away. The girls are nice, and you get a mini-massage thrown in when they seat you at the nail polish dryer. I'm quite happy with them. read more
