I found Aegis a few years ago in some list of best travel insurances and have used them at least…read moreonce (too hard to figure out who I used for prior trips) for a trip longer than 30 days also because wanted to make sure to have medical evacuation coverage because (conditions not covered by the free travel coverage under my travel Visa card. This time I wanted an answer to a specific question. What happens if lack of crew delays one flight and I miss my next. I don't like the answer but I think it's true for all or most travel insurance companies. The situation is only covered if the delay was caused by ticket, weather or mechanical labor strike so lack of crew does not count and I would have to buy an expensive replacement ticket at the last minute. However, Elizabeth, the agent I was speaking with, had I forget how many, but a lot, of years and was also very smart. I started asking all kinds of other questions and hypotheticals. She patiently and intelligently educated me on all the ins and outs of travel insurance including how to better differentiate and deploy their coverage in conjunction with the credit card coverage. A second aside is that long ago in my career I developed travel agency management and later insurance estimation software so this was a thorough exploration. So a five star review review for Elizabeth and maybe also for Aegis... depending on what I find out while hunting for travel insurance that does cover all the flaky reasons flights are canceled nowadays that can cause me to have to buy a last minute ticket out of pocket.

I was called by Joy In Ohio and my claim was denied. Your inspector stated on his report that 9 shingle caps or shingles were missing, the roof looked over 10yrs old etc.... I did what Joy said I had a contractor come look at the damage inside, then outside for damage. He took me on the roof. I don't know what your adjuster saw but nothing with shingles or shingle caps were missing. I then had a structural Engineer from the Township look at the damage inside of the home. He stated 5 houses in the same row west to east had the same damage, and he believed it was a downburst of air pushing down on the houses causing the trusses to push into the ceiling. I told Your company this and they didn't care that my home was 4th in the line of 5 that were damaged. Just FYI the others have been fixed by their insurance companies. My roof was stripped and replaced with all good wood and new shingles in 2018. I have already canceled your crappy 1 star insurance, and let every social media outlet I could know your practices, along with the Better Business Bureau. I went with one of the homes that was also damaged by the same storm insurance companies! This letter is just to let you know Your 1 star rating that is on social media has been supported by myself. I asked them why premium increased and Christine Eamon's gave me some story as to why rates increased. I accepted it as fact. Fast forward to this year and Farmers insurance cold called me and offered me same coverages for less than half what this firm was charging me. They made 0 attempts to contact me over the course of 2 years except when it came time for renewal. Changed my agent a minimum of 2 times without notifying me anything changed. Made no attempts to shop my rates to other providers until I notified them I was going with another provider. Only then I received a call from the head of the office whatever his name was, telling me they were shopping to 7 providers. Offered me a 45% reduction from previous rates. Still not close to farmers. I informed him that I was extremely displeased with their service, gouged me and they didn't care about me as a client. He hung up on me. When I sent them the cancellation notice they told me it was REJECTED and I needed to provide more information. I will be filing a complaint with every regulatory body That deals with this. Farmers told me it was against the law for them to refuse to cancel my policy. POTENTIAL BUYER BEWARE!

When my son was in an accident (not at fault, Dec '24), I called for guidance on how to file a claim. Only then did I find out State Farm required both the car and the driver to be insured--something Alex never explained or advised me on. I added my son to my policy in Dec '24 but ultimately filed the accident claim through the other driver's insurance, meaning State Farm never handled it. Two months later (End of Feb '25) my son moved out on less that great terms and took responsibility for the car, we had him retitle it in his name and he took it with him. We canceled our policy, but State Farm first had me sign and affidavit giving my word my son was not driving my other vehicles, then later demanded proof of his new insurance-- including company name and policy number, details I had no access to. My agent was useless throughout this process, never explaining my coverage, never offering real assistance, and only forwarding emails. When the underwriters started making demands, he gave me no advice, and his final email was downright rude--essentially telling me to take my business elsewhere. State Farm and Alex's lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care was infuriating. After years of paying into their service, I expected better. I've since switched providers, and if you're looking for an insurance company that actually supports its customers, stay far away from State Farm.
