I cannot even begin to say how disappointed I am with the owner, Jacob. He promises to show up, does not do it. Then he he says he will call and does not. I spent a large amount of money for a bad job. He was supposed to change a sliding door shower. He only changed half of it, even though I bought a whole new shower. I will have to hire someone to come and do the job right because of the mold which he also promised to address and did not! I am so sorry I ever met Jacob, the owner. I did not read previous reviews and now I truly regret it. Do not trust this man. I have asked for an invoice multiple times and never got it. I feel I was robbed. read more

Like other recent reviews have noted, this seems to be a scam to collect payments. I hired Jacob to repair two windows in my home. During his first visit, he recommended fully replacing the hardware with new parts, explaining that new balances were needed. This seemed reasonable, so I agreed to the plan. After two visits, he had only partially repaired one window--which now will not stay open--and did not have the correct part for the second window despite promising he would bring it. To top it off, he used the window sill as a workbench to hammer in metal pins, punching holes throughout our windowsill. When I paid him after the second visit, Jacob assured me he would be back later in the week to complete the job and patch the damage. Unfortunately, after receiving payment, Jacob failed to show up for three subsequent rescheduled appointments, each time citing that he was busy. After the third missed appointment, he stopped responding entirely. I had two phone numbers for him, but one has since been disconnected and the other goes unanswered. Additionally, I noticed that he recently deleted his profile from Thumbtack, which is concerning. It seems that Jacob may be running a scam to collect payment in advance of completing (or sometimes even starting) jobs. I strongly advise to avoid hiring him for any work. He may be providing a free estimate and asking for payment of parts upfront as a scam. My experience was extremely disappointing, and I am now left with two windows that are still in need of repair and no way to contact Jacob for a resolution. read more

Use at your own risk. Jacob over promises and then does not deliver. He uses random day laborers literally from wherever he can find them whose language he does not speak, and then he LEAVES them alone at the job site to figure out the install without any instruction or supervision. He ruined a $6,000 door as a result. Jacob knew all the door specs in advance, and he even offered to print him a copy. He said, "oh I know how to do it, I've done these before." Total lie. He's so incompetent and reckless, he installed the door inside out! Yes, inside out. The door has tape and stickers all over it that say "this is the inside of the door" and all those stickers were facing outside. Jacob destroyed the door framing while having his unskilled, unsupervised laborers cram it into the space inside out. Jacob was indignant and unapologetic when we told him about the damages and costs. Another crew sent over by Jacob supposedly finished the door. You can see from the photos, the framing in the corners don't meet because the door was installed too high. Installation is improper, voiding the warranty. We have dry walled and taped around the door after Jacob assured us install was finally correct, so now we have to basically remove a broken frame and try to re install the door literally from scratch. Jacob tried to charge us $1100 after having workers try and fail to install the door twice. He never lifted a finger and lied repeatedly. I would not trust Jacob with a house plant, he is a total scammer. read more

Stay clear of this company, and the illegal tactics of the owner, Jacob. I purchased a new entry door and they were supplying labor only. While at the property, he noticed some loose rail posts and encouraged me to have them re-secured. The first red flag was when i received a call from Home Depot to pay for supplies because he had no form of payment. I found this weird since I was sending him $500/ day (Zele max for new payees). He was constantly asking for money at every step of the way until he stopped showing up. He even promised every day he'd be there the next day, which turned out to all be lies. The following day the men who did all the work came by looking for Jacob and their money. All the money that was sent to him, he never paid the laborers and kept all the money for himself. What a scum. Taking advantage of hard working , less fortunate people even though they performed good work. Many other reviewers have similar stories. read more

This person "Jacob" first red flag gave me his card with only a first name, his real name Israel Dery will take your money and ghost you if things are not convenient for him. This job is a side gig that he will change plans on a whim to fit his needs. I contracted with him for a sliding door replacement due to water leaking. He told me he could get it done in 3 days with a door from his manufacture. He delivered a low quality door from home depot and asked $100 over sale price. He then delivered the door using a Uhaul trailer; after closer inspection I notice that the door frame was cracked and unusable along with many paint scrapes on the door frame and screen door. I informed him of the damage that i saw, and he said "it would not be a problem and that he could replace it" the next day he was supposed to install the door after postponing for a second time; he called and said he could not do it again and needed to push to the following week. At this point I told him i wanted to cancel his service and have him return the damaged door, he said that he would do it and come grab the door soon and return the money. That was the last time that he took my call before ghosting me. He would sent messages saying he would chat and never followed through, he left the door took the money and ran. After some investigation I found he has numerous complaints and has an expired contractor license. Lesson Learned to do your homework. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I hired Israel Dery (the handyman owner) to replace 4 windows on the top level of a 3 levels house and 2 windows on the main level. He ordered the WRONG TYPE of windows, not checking the outside and not noticing that what he ordered will break the molding stucco on the outside and would requiring scaffolding for the installation. He measured INCORrECTLY five out of the six windows and installed the first two with a huge gap around the frame as they were too narrow. ( the person that he hired to help him, took me aside and told me it's a lousy job and that these windows will leak in the winter) . He cheated getting me to buy with my credit card supplies for the job since he "incidentally gave his credit card to his wife" and used it also to buy additional stuff for himself (!) refusing to give me the receipt so some could be returned. After trying to install the two windows and realizing that he doesn't know how to complete the job he disappeared, leaving me with six windows that are the wrong type which I paid for, and significant damage that he caused while trying to install the first two. As I was told by experienced licensed contractors, looking at the windows that he ordered and the job he started: " the guy has no clue how to do such a job". Maybe if it's simple windows/doors on a ground floor he can do something, but I would be very careful in hiring him or trusting him. . read more

I wish I could be posting a positive follow up to my review but sadly I can't. After I left my review the owner reached out right away asking how he could make the situation right. I told him I completely lacked any confidence in his ability to complete the job as promised and I would like a refund on the half I paid since I needed to hire someone else to redo the work that was already done. He said he could give me half of my deposit back, to which I agreed. After I agreed he asked if I would remove my review once he sent the money. Weeks go by with no refund despite multiple calls following up and him saying he would do it right away each time. I finally sent him a request for the refund myself which he declined. This further solidifies my opinion that he is not trustworthy nor is he interested in actually making the situation right.
