I think it was made even better because I had just tried someone else (a different repairman) who couldn't get the job done. Ron fixed four sliding doors with varying degrees of difficulty in opening (and replaced two glass panels where one of the panes had broken) last summer. He communicated the issues very clearly, was upfront throughout the whole process about timelines/cost, and very diligent in fixing the doors. The day he was scheduled to fix the glass doors wound up among the hottest days of the summer. No matter, he worked through the 100+ degree heat until the job was finished. Once he was done, doors that I could only barely open myself were now not only easy for my young kids to open themselves, but rolled so smoothly that our cat could push them open himself when not locked! After the winter, I guess our house settled a bit, because one of the doors that had been opening smoothly started to stick pretty badly again. Ron came out a day or two after I asked him about it, and fixed the issue at no cost. All in all, it was a great experience having him fix our doors, and highly recommend his services. read more

We contacted American Sliding Door regarding a repair. Ron texted us back right away and said he could meet us today. We were out of town an rushed back to meet him at 330pm. We stated the door was old, 1973, and we were worried it might not be able to be repaired. Ron told us if it could not be repaired, difficult to open, we would not be charged. We were able to get the slider open before Ron arrived and he spent about 10 minutes working on the door and advised us it could not be fixed. We asked him to help us carry out a full box spring before shutting the door which he did. I thought there would be no bill since he said we needed a new door. I was planning on giving him $50 for his time however, he demanded $195.00 which I paid. I said "Don't you think that's a little steep?" He said I spent my time coming to your house. He also said he was going to retire in a week. I have text messages where he stated no charge if the door can't be fixed. I felt ripped off. read more
