But you've been told different things by different workers. I don't even know how Social Security operates it's so screwed up. You're also going to hear over and over and over again we are understaffed we are understaffed we are understaffed we are understaffed we are understaffed. And they tell you this over and over again like it's your fault. Not my fault it's Trump's fault. But that doesn't mean that a disabled person should get really bad service. Call 6 times, get runaround from rude people and no one can tell me why it's denied . My friend finally figures it out, go back to the office . Their staff submitted my form incorrectly so benefits weren't going to start for several months and not when I need them to start as I am retiring soon . So have to disenroll and reenroll In Medicare , get a really off hand non apology , apology and also lied and say they tried to contact me which they didnt. If my friend hadn't figured it out I would probably still be calling or would have to postpone my retirement . Would be nice if they submitted your forms correctly and paid attention instead of rushing you out. If anyone on the 6 phone calls I made had really listened to me they should have been able to figure it out. Very upsetting and unnecessary experience. I began to tell them that I spoke to someone on the phone and they were the ones who gave me the appointment for today! Anybody knows that you can't walk into the Social Security office and you have to make an appointment! I don't know why they think they're above the law. They're just rude. I tried to explain the requirements and show the relevant information, but instead of taking the time to properly review my documents or verify the SSA's own guidance, she simply rejected them and sent me home. It is extremely frustrating when people come to a government office prepared with the documents they were instructed to bring, only to be turned away because an employee is not familiar with the agency's own requirements. If you claim to be an expert, you should at least be familiar with the policies published on your own agency's website.
