I know what you might be thinking... what can you really say about a post office? At the end of the day, it seems like a pretty transactional place. But customer service always goes a long way. I recently stopped in to mail a package to a friend in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a shipping box that was the right size, so I was getting ready to use one that was much larger than I actually needed. As I was putting everything together, the employee behind the counter noticed and asked where I was shipping my package. When I told her it was going to Las Vegas, she immediately said, "Oh my goodness, that's going to be expensive. Let me see if I can find you a better-sized box." A few moments later, she came back with the perfect box for my items. She explained that if I had shipped my package in the oversized box, I would've paid significantly more--she even joked that it would've cost about the same as treating myself to a seafood dinner! That interaction really stuck with me because she didn't have to do any of that. She could have simply accepted the package and moved on, but instead she took an extra minute to save me money. It's little moments like that that make all the difference. I truly appreciated her kindness, her honesty, and the fact that she looked out for me when she didn't have to. In spite of driving by this post office location so many times within the last 5 years, I never saw it until today. We were on our way to another post office, but saw this post office, decided to ship a few boxes, so came here. Parking is plentiful and the lot is easy to maneuver through. Customers park on the ground level and enter the front doors at a much raised level. The lobby is just off the entryway, with a lot of mail boxes to the left. Customers can walk straight ahead upon entry to get to mail slots where they can deposit their mail. To the right is the separate customer service area where customers got into a short line to wait their turn at either of the two windows where postal workers were handling customer transactions. The customer service area is stocked with various sizes of boxes and envelopes, various types of greeting cards, and gift cards, all for sale. While waiting in line, I noticed that one of the employees was slow, and the other one was not slow (not fast, just not slow). Thankfully, shipping is easy if the customer (like us) had QR codes ready on the mobile app for each shipment. This way, all the USPS employee has to do is scan the QR code, which allows a shipping label to be printed automatically that the employee applies to either the box or the envelope and puts it into the bin to be shipped. 4 star experience. read more

When I went to give her my package she didn't have the decency to nicely tell me that l was giving her a package for the wrong carrier. She's yells, "THIS IS UPS, I DON'T PLAY!" This post office is the worse and they have stopped forwarding my mail for the third time this year. I talked to an employee named Nicole a few times and she LIED like she didn't see the extension for my mail forwarding in the system. The manager Mrs.Young is ignoring my calls and emails instead of trying to resolve this issue once AGAIN! The postman Marcus was deliberately not forwarding my mail when he was working here. Mrs. Young is even ignoring speaking to her boss, and other depts regarding my situation which is obscured. I have never in my life had so many issues with a local post office regarding my mail. I've contacted the consumer affairs, and the executives for the usps regarding this entire ordeal. Two stars because there are two people here that are amazing. They are quick and sweet. Everyone else here.. Rude.. I had a lady get snippy because I didn't know what to do. I go here often and I didn't realize some things have changed from how I used to do it. I was confused and the lady made me feel so stupid after not giving me full instructions on what to do and then got an attitude that I didn't know what I was doing. Um.. Can you please just help me..? I had a man not know what he was doing as I corrected him and he promptly forgot that I wanted to order stamps and rushes me out because others were waiting in line. This same man forgot to tell his manager I wanted stamps that he couldn't get that second and told me to come back in a half hour. Well. I've been coming here again because a) I'm either on my way to/from Medical Center station so going elsewhere is dumb or b) I'm not home when a registered mail package arrives. The nicest employee here recognizes me now! I didn't think I came all THAT often because after last time I try to stick with the automated machine. But today this lady had like 12 envelopes she was mailing and of course she went to it like an idiot. I waited in line and I was out before her. AND IT WAS NICE. The man who works here who always says how are you on this glorious day? He is the best. I didn't think I've been swapping that much tea with people but apparently I have. I believe the last time I was there was about 2 weeks ago to ship something to Canada, so I had to use the counter service, so I'm kind of like that's really cool that he remembers me. I haven't seen that evil woman again though so that's a plus. But as long as that guy is the only one at the counter I may skip the machine for now that I know I'm safe from verbal abuse, and can get happy post office interaction times. The only problem here still is that I really wish they'd fix the one railing outside on the stairs, and fix the parcel drop by the automated machine. It's not necessarily a problem to have to take them to the counter during business hours, but I've had to avoid coming before/after them because I'm afraid there's then nowhere to leave my stuff. read more

Well it's been 2 years since my last review and nothing has changed. Again this week my delivery was not delivered but tracking number has delivered. I have called the post office from 9am to 330 no answer. I have filed a report with Post Master General and customer service manager. My package was my medication and do not have the money to buy another supply. What does it take to get my mail delivered? This is the worst post office. Just this week, three of my packages have gone "missing". They marked it as delivered on their end but I NEVER received it. Even my regular mail goes missing too and I have informed delivery so I know what's suppose to be delivered. I'm so fed up and the worst part is when you tell a vendor or merchant that you never received the product and then they hit you with "well the tracking says delivered" I know it isn't the sender fault but it's very annoying and it's a waste of my money. read more

Back north, I loved the post office when compared to FedEx or UPS. Up there, service was quick and consistent. Not here. Each one we've been to has been awful and scary that this is the least awful one we've experienced. That said, being open at 9am is a challenge. Staffing enough people at the counter is even more of a challenge and those that are at the counter are easily distracted and disappear from their stations for an unacceptable amount of time. When people say they hate the USPS, I used to think they were crazy or spoiled. But given the experiences down here, I can now see where the hate comes from. read more

I have mixed feelings about this post office with it being the only one in this area you are forced to use it. A machine is there for you to use if you getting stamps or are weighing in envelopes or small packages but if you are in need of any other help get in line. It seems like they are constantly understaffed making for long lines, they are not always clear when announcing which line is cash or credit and have seen many a person(s) getting frustrated with the staff because of the general attitude they are dishing out two women got up one day hollered "it's my break time not my problem" and walked out, leaving only one person to help the customers (there was about twenty of us in line). I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. This is your standard post office, with ample parking and friendly, courteous staff. I've never waited in line longer than a few minutes, and on my last visit the woman at the front desk was very helpful as I ordered several hundred stamps. This facility itself is a very nice post office - large and open, with lots of windows and light, and plenty of parking. Since the main entrance is up a flight of stairs, and you can almost always get a spot right at the bottom (the ADA spots are at the base of the ramp off to the side). The retail office is only open M-F, and often (every time that I've been) there's only been two employees working the front. However, those employees are as efficient as they can be, and one gentleman is particularly friendly and charismatic. They do a good job of explaining what each customer's options are to satisfy his or her needs. There is an automated service center that allows you to send your packages and letters and buy stamps when the retail center isn't open (or when the line is too long and you've got a simple task). It also dispenses stamps of assorted values (in case you have a stash of old stamps that need a little bump since the price of stamps keeps increasing). One of Sandy Springs main post offices, this Glenridge location is conveniently located about a mile inside the perimeter off Roswell Road. The best things about it are the outdoor drop boxes and the automated postal machine in the lobby. The staff is generally friendly as well. Unfortunately, as nice as they are, the counter folks are highly inefficient and customer lines pile up quite easily and frequently. Despite long lines, counter employees disappear for long stretches. Lunch hour is particularly troublesome, as they often seem understaffed at a logically peak time. A great place if you're just dropping off or conducting simple automated transactions. Prepare to wait if you're not. read more

Glenridge Drive in Sandy Springs: went to the PO on 7/28 at 4:15 PM and the PO was "CLOSED" despite posting hours saying it would be open until 5 PM. Tried again on 7/29, same time of day, the line was out the door and only ONE window open. The pre-paid counter was overflowing. Decided to try again another day. The taxpayers are being ripped off. A call to the postmaster (who wasn't "in" -- quelle surprise!) was not productive. Learned there are "staffing issues due to COVID" which may or may not be true. Increasingly noticing the USPS is like dealing with a Third World entity. Recommend patronizing UPS or FedEx if you're able. read more

We are stuck with this post office as our delivery office and it's almost worth the hassle of moving just to escape them... Unfortunately, we are at the end of the route and constantly have delivery issues from skipped deliveries to mail not being delivered until almost 9pm at times. I actually once had the carrier be so lazy they actually left the mail for half my street in my box! When you go into the post office they are rude and clearly just don't care... they need to do a good house cleaning and bring in a whole new staff at this location!
