Three times now when I check the box to hold my mail that I would pick it up after my vacation they did not do it but instead delivered my mail on the last day of my expected vacation. On two occasions I came back several days later than projected. When I went to the post office to pick up my mail a male employee said he check and then told me I checked the box to deliver my mail on the last day of my projected vacation, which was a LIE. This third time, they included the card I filled out, which clearly stated that I would be picking up my mail. So with that documentation in hand, of which I scanned. I filed a formal complaint and will be talking to the Canton, MI Supervisor shortly, providing her a copy of the hold card and the complaint serial number. read more

Worst post office in the area. Like to stand in line for 20 minutes so they can tell you to go to the kiosk when the kiosk isn't working? This is your place. I wanted to ship a small box, the kiosk wasn't working, and then they wanted to give me a hard time because I didn't write the address on the box. I DIDN'T HAVE A MARKER BECAUSE I EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO PRINT A LABEL OFF OF YOUR BROKE KIOSK. Worse than the Secretary of State. Shut down USPS and we can all use FedEx. read more

Get here at least 15 minutes before closing time or you may be out of luck for counter service. This location's posted closing time is 5p.m. on Saturdays. I arrived at 4:40. There were no priority envelopes so I had to wait in line. When I got to the front it was 4:45. She warned me that they closed in 15 minutes. I joked and said, "I hope it won't take me that long to address this." While I was addressing it, at 4:50 one of the employees went over and moved the rope to close the line to new customers. That was ten minutes before close. I watched 6 people come in after that and get turned away between 4:50 and 4:55. There were still customers parking to come in, and I watched them come out right after going in, because they were turned away before closing time too. The women working were efficient but not personable. I'm glad I have other options, and I'm hoping your experience here is better. read more

I avoid this post office whenever possible. Poor service, long lines, and heavy traffic around this post office at all times. Canton seems to be surrounded by or close to cities that offer better public services, so that is where I recommend going. Plymouth, Northville, and Novi have better post offices and friendlier staff. read more

The Postmaster at the Canton, Michigan Post Office (48187) first approved my submitted Postal Form 1528 Hardship Request to Deliver Mail to my Front Door due to My Validated Orthopedic Disability (100% VA-rated Disabled Combat Veteran) in December, 2025, then decided on 12 January 2026 to reverse his approval without notification. Furthermore, he withdrew all mail delivery service for me altogether without any justification and without any notice, after receiving US mail for one month at my front door and at my mailbox 1/4 mile from my residence. Not only are his actions without any justification, but he has discriminated against me because I am a disabled combat Veteran who finds it extremely difficult to walk more than 200 feet and my mailbox is in fact 1/4 mile away from my residence - even after he was furnished medical documentation to validate my disability. Furthermore, said Postmaster delivers mail "curbside" (just in front of a house front door) to 32 of my immediate neighbors, all of whom are not disabled (confirmed by my HOA). This Postmaster therefore is totally prejudiced against me as a disabled Veteran, as cessation of my mail service is an extreme punishment/retaliation and without any logical justification. And based upon his express original approval, I purchased a steel mailbox for my residence and paid a handyman $100 to install it - $450 total material and labor expense. Finally, this Postmaster should abide by his original approval to deliver mail to my front door due to my validated disability hardship situation. If you want to see a US Federal Employee who tramples upon the rights of disabled Veterans, look no further at this Postmaster and his abhorent, discriminatory actions. If you are a disabled Veteran, you should avoid using this Post Office location for your postal needs. read more

They make you pay for tape it's 25 dollars for priority shipping and lines are absurd. Costumer service is low and staff are rude.

I have been here many times and received helpful service ! I tried going in different timings but almost always had huge lines. Slow and understaffed at times but they get the job done. During yesterday's 7pm visit, I had to wait for long time to be served. There were 3 people in front of me, but had to wait for nearly 20-25 minutes. While waiting, the lines were getting longer. There was only one person behind the counter. Strong respect for her especially during this holiday season. They really need more staff. There were line markers on the floor for covid precautions. This review ids for the Canton MI Office. We had an appointment scheduled for my two sons' passport renewal for March 15th, scheduled one month ahead on February 17th. We arrive to the facility and the clerk lady tells us that the person who does the passports is not here today and we have to reschedule or we can go to Livonia where they accept walk ins. She does not apologies, or try to reschedule it, nothing. We went to Livonia and of course they DO NOT accept walk ins. Why lie? This is simple put a display of ignorance and inefficiency at maximum display. The manager of this branch should have made sure that the appointment is honored and/or rescheduled. If you know that the person won't be in tomorrow, you make sure that all appointments are rescheduled automatically. You know that you can call or text us, right? I mean, how incompetent and ignorant you must be. When I asked the clerk where is the manager, she replies that she or he wont be in util 12:00pm. Oh, how nice. Despite this pathetic service in Canton, the lady at the Livonia office was very nice and helpful. She scheduled us to the earliest available slot for next week. Thank you Livonia for your kind service. Canton branch, you should be ashamed of yourself for this display of ignorance. read more

I hate stopping in this location, but it's close to work. There are two staff members who make it an especially not-fun chore and make me nervous the whole time I'm waiting in line. Sorry to say, but the staff could really do better with manners. Today, I was so pleasantly surprised by an employee named Karen (I swear, I'm not just biased for the name, haha!) who not only was cheerful, she was also very helpful and explained the way sorting the mail works so that I'll know how to package my items better next time. This Post Office is conveniently located on Haggerty Road in Canton. About a half mile north of the Canton Charter Township municipal buildings and library. If heading north entry to the Post Office is easy during any hour. During rush hour exercise caution if heading south on entry and exit. Haggerty Road can be very busy. During business hours this Post Office can be very busy. I prefer to visit during off hours in order to conduct my primary business with them, which is, getting my postage. We also use this Post Office to ship our business items. With preprinted labels this Post Office accepts most packages through the drop boxes. They also process passports here and other documents. Have your paperwork ready and check hours of operation! They are a full service Post Office and have specialty items on hand as well - like cards and small gifts. Service is sometimes strained but we avoid that difficulty by visiting during slow times in order to ensure our business interactions are pleasant. read more

Came by here last weekend with my dad to drop off a package. We arrived in the morning and there wasn't much of a line at the start. When we started queueing up, it might have taken 15 minutes before we actually were helped. The gentleman behind the counter was definitely at least in his 50s. His seems like a very no nonsense kind of person, kinda reminded me of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, but much nicer. This guy is all about that efficiency and I can appreciate that because it helps to get the line moving and everyone is happier at the end. read more

Avoid this post office at all costs. The employees are the rudest people I have ever met. They also do not answer the phone while trying to set an appointment for a passport renewal. Pay a little extra and use private carriers-UPS, FedEx, etc. Sorry for the bad review here but being extremely rude and coming off as if you are a hassle when they call "next" is just not good customer service. Always receiving mail that doesn't belong to us so I have to wonder how much of my mail is being delivered to the wrong address as well! I receive daily emails with pics of what will be delivered each day... but that's not always what we receive and sometimes it never shows up in our mailbox! Someone needs to learn how to manage this location because the current setup is obviously not working!! read more

July 16, 2019 - Entered the post office with my priority package and stood in line with many customers in front of me and only to see one employee at the desk. Another female employee walks up to another station and took her time opening and the line getting longer. Okay, long story short - this post office sucks! I had the correct address on my package going to Los Angeles, but the slip had the incorrect address! Got the message it was delivered, but was left at the wrong house! What the hell?!! Luckily, my sister drove over to the next street to find her package and it was handed to her. So, good ending there! But on many occasions, their outside drop boxes are full and can barely fit your mail. From now on, I will drive to my favorite post office in Belleville regardless if it's a bit more distant. read more

Amazon Prime deliveries have been late 4 times in the last two weeks. Todays delivery shows "out for delivery" in Livonia not Canton, no telling how long that package will take to be delivered. Phone calls to the office just ring and never get answered. Last two (one retired) drivers are off work as much as they are at work. No wonder they have to keep raising postal rates to pay temp workers to drive routes. read more

Useless. Utterly useless. I had lived in Canton for nearly half a year and had noticed that I received significantly less mail than I did in my previous city. I did not think much of this until a friend notified me that their letter to me was returned and marked "Attempted - Not Known". A Google search revealed this to be code for "we don't think this guy actually lives at this address". I was puzzled, as I had lived in Canton for 6 months and I had notified USPS when I moved in. Concerned, and slightly upset about missing ~6 months-worth of mail, I visited the post office to work this out. After waiting nearly 10 minutes (and after waiting an additional 20 minutes in line) to speak to the supervisor, I was told that there was nothing they could do and the best I could do was to leave a note for the carrier in my mailbox and hope they read it. Clearly it was foolish of me to have expected this post office to have actually done its job and deliver my mail after having seen it addressed to me for so long. If the carrier decides to read my note and start delivering my mail, I will have some minor confidence restored in this post office. However, until then, I caution anyone considering moving to Canton that this city does not yet have a fully-functioning postal service. read more

Get some help in the place! Went there at 10 o'clock this morning and they had two lines going. I figured out one was for passports and the other for mail services. I had to turn in a simple form in that I couldn't do online. There were about 10-12 people in the mail services line and close to 10 in the passport line. Only ONE clerk behind the counter. when she finished with the current "mail service" customer she signaled the next person in the passport line up. There were two of them who then called their 3 children up to join them. Knew it was time to leave. Wish they still had the postal service at the Meijer store in Canton. Close to 100,000 in the community and ONE understaffed postal location. Ridiculous. read more

The staff here have always been efficient but many times I have gotten Ron (#3) who has dealt with me and always been very helpful and knowledgeable but this time i had to give him a 5 stars for going out of his way to solve an international shipping problem that i had. I had went over the weight limit and needed to rewrap my parcel and Ron provided me on the spot with tapes,glue,scissors etc so that i didnt have to drive home, rewrap and go straight back to the post office which did happened to me once. So now i always check to see if he is working when i go it. Ron, keep up the good work and thanks again. read more

Seems to be busy often and sometimes there just aren't enough workers. Last visit, the clerk did not know what she was talking about (I ship a lot of items and kind of have an idea about certain things) and was quite rude about it. Ended up charging me an extra dollar because she said it didn't fit a certain category...grr! They seem to be quite rude quite often there...I should really stick to the automated machine but, sometimes forget to grab my ATM card. read more

Gave me a "guarantee" an important envelope would arrive the next day at noon if I did overnight, 1-day rush. I had been in earlier that week to discuss the situation of it needing to be there no *earlier* and no *later* than this date. I paid 1-day rush and left. Well needless to say, the envelope was delivered a day late and therefore useless. So much for that "guarantee", glad I went to all that trouble with them. Why promise a customer something you don't have control over? I understand stuff happens but this ended up screwing me up and I'll most likely use Fedex instead. read more

This place is a JOKE! Just moved into a modular home park that this post serves. As a new resident I needed to place a work order to have the lock changed and given keys. I was told on Saturday at noon that the kites would be delivered to my address by 3pm that same day and if nobody was home they'd be taped to the inside of my door, the gentleman also said if they weren't there to give them a call. I got home about five and there were no keys. Fast forward to Monday because of course Sunday they're closed. By 2 on Monday there was still no key so I made a call. Same guy that helped me before apologized profusely that the locks guy was behind on Saturday and that he put in a new order Monday at 9 am and that it'd be done within 24 hours. Fast forward to Tuesday (today) at 3pm with no keys. Make a call and I'm told that the lock hasn't even been changed and it'll be another 24-48 hrs....... and the conversations of had previously weren't ever had. Nobody would have told me any of that information. What's funny is they put the guy in the phone that changes the locks.... maybe if you weren't hanging out in the post office taking phone calls, my lock change wouldn't take 48 hours. read more

I am writing specifically about Nina Jones, a post office worker at this location. I called the post office to track a package. When I called I was frustrated and very disappointed that my package had not been delivered on the date it was promised. I also had been tossed around to a few different post office locations prior to speaking to her. I am sure I was not as friendly as I generally like to be. Upon speaking to Nina she changed my whole disposition. She was friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. She even went so far as to call me on my cell phone to let me know my package had finally been delivered, which was far above her call of duty. I know most times people complain about the post office but I am so thankful to have worked with Nina! Thank you Nina! read more
