My Passport 'acceptance' experience at the Rancho California Temecula Post Office was excellent. Never been there before, because I live in Murrieta. I arrived about 15 minutes early for my (Tuesday) midday Passport appointment. Go in through the front entrance, turn right and go as far down as you can, stop and then turn left. If you still can't see the Passport 'office' by then, well there's nothing else I can do for you. I took a seat 'outside the glass' at the small round table in the outer waiting area. With only one customer finishing up at the counter ahead of me, it was no more than 2-3 minutes before Yelena, the passport service clerk asked me to come ahead to the counter. I needed a passport photo taken, but otherwise my paperwork and payments were all in order. Yelena was friendly, competent and professional. Long story short: I was finished and heading back out the door 15 minutes BEFORE my ORIGINAL appointment time. This errand could not have turned out ANY better. read more

Worst post office ever! I have never had so much trouble trying to get a hold of a business before. I called numerous times, the line is alway busy or no one every answers the phone. First my package is "undeliverable" at a physical residence and is sent back to original sender. I place a forwarding address and again its "undeliverable!" The forwarding address is expired by the time they try and deliver the package and this is the second time I have had my international package returned to the sender! I would have picked up the packed at the post office if a slip had been left!!! WTF! The one time I got a hold of an actual person, Eric, tells me they don't know where my package is going and there is nothing they can do! He seemed so bored, apathetic, and rude. Are you kidding me?! The location is horrible and getting in and out is dangerous and a lot of time annoying when it's so hard to get out of there due to so many fast cars coming from both directions. Also to get to the parking lot, you should NOT have to drive thru the drop off mail zone. People needing to get to the parking lot get mad at people dropping mail off in the drive thru mail boxes. read more

There have just been too many problems with this particular post office. Rude employees in the actual post office. Numerous packages delivered to the wrong person yet marked that it was delivered correctly. We've never been able to connect with anyone via phone, always have to come in to ask any question and there is typically a long line of customers waiting. The only reasons they are rated 2 stars is because (1) the actual postal delivery employee that delivers our mail has always been very helpful and professional and (2) when we've had problems with numerous packages being delivered to the wrong places, we've been able to speak to one of the supervisors and he has been very helpful. read more

This is perhaps, the friendliest post office I've ever been to. Politeness still goes a long way in my book. The clerks are also very efficient with their transactions. This is a larger post office due to the fact that there are over 1000 PO boxes here. This means that parking is ample. However making a left turn out of the parking lot is a little hairy. Hairier now since Rancho is undergoing some street construction. There are also 2, that's right 2 APC's here. APC stands for Automated Postal Center. They are great during late night trips to the post office. I sell things, so it's nice to be able to have 24-hour access. And yes, my biz is 100% on the up and up! This location is small. It can be very busy so be patient waiting in line. The parking is ridiculously small as well, don't be surprised if you have to park on the street. My mom went into this location for assistance while I was on the phone, and the customer service staff (male worker on 2/20/2014) at this location was terribly rude. Beware for unhappy workers at this location. They don't seem happy with what they do at their job. read more

Hey, the staff here is extremely professional, very friendly, and also very helpful!! Since relocating here, a little over a year ago, and having at least twice weekly contact with the personnel, I will tell you I have NEVER had a negative experience at this post office location--92589! What a nice post office! The staff here are so helpful and nice. They put up with and professionally handled my silly questions. I love the machines and they are so easy to use. This is a nice full service location for all your postal needs, including 24 hour access to your PO box and passport services. There are copiers, an ATM machine, and self-service shipping kiosks. It is very busy, one of only two locations in Temecula but they are adequately staffed so the lines move quickly. There is also a separate dutch door for items that require signature so you don't have to wait in line. I find that the staff here is knowledgable and friendly. My favorite part of this location is when you are a post office box customer is the package delivery system. When you receive a package, they place a key in your PO box for a locker that houses your package. This is very convenient versus coming back during regular business hours. read more

I would like to share an encounter I experienced today. It was a fairly uneventful day of running errands with my three young children, including my special needs almost 3 year old. One of our errands was to run to the Post Office in Temecula off of Rancho California Road. We stood in line with others and I did my best, like most good parents do, to keep my kids with me and remind them to be polite to those around them. This is not something I can easily communicate to my 2.5 year old son. He is Deaf and has other challenges (I prefer that term over disabilities) and he gets overstimulated and also frustrated when we have to run multiple errands. As a military family, we don't have the luxury of family nearby and though we have wonderful friends, they are not responsible for helping me live my daily life with my kids. So when we go places, we all go together, because we are family. Also, if I had to leave the store every time I had to go somewhere, I would never be able to get anything done. This is just our reality with a special needs child. Today, while in the line, my special needs son began to vocalize and on occasion scream to decompress from the environment and try to communicate his desire to be somewhere else. I did my best to distract him. I gave him kisses, dipped him upside down for a laugh, let him down for a brief moment before scooping him back into my arms for fear he would take off. We were two people away from the counter when my eyes met with Sherry's who was working that day. She was clearly annoyed with my son and rolled her eyes and sighed, all the while staring at me. I smiled back. I know what she is looking at me for. My son is behaving in a way she finds annoying. I then see her whisper to her two young adult male customers who then turn around and stare at my kids and me. I return the look and again, smile. I don't need confrontation today. I am just praying to mail my packages before the meltdown begins. We make it to the counter, to the check out next to Sherry. My son vocalizes again. She immediately glares at me, rolls her eyes and turns away and shakes her head disapprovingly. I can't be quiet anymore. I inform her that my son has special needs and her glares are rude and not appreciated. She responds that he is ear piercing. I inform her that he is Deaf and cannot hear how loud he is an is also developmentally challenged. She turns her back to me and rolls her eyes and shakes her head again. This is an employee, not a customer, but someone representing the Post Office. As I complete my transaction, I ask to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor comes out and I explain the situation. He asks me to come to the side and write out my complaint. As I am writing my complaint, my other two children are playing nicely with the children of another parent. My sweet daughter comes up to me and rubs my back and says, "Take a deep breath, Mommy." Another customer, a woman in her 50's in a pink dress, comes up to me and signs (ASL) to my son and rubs my back. She tells me all that I should do to make sure they take my complaint seriously because how we were treated was wrong. I am so grateful to her for loving on me when I needed it and even more blessed that she knew how to sign. The supervisor and Sherry come out after I have finished writing my complaint. She gives me a cursory apology and as I am explaining to her that not all disabled people look disabled she again complains how ear piercing my son is and walks away. I realize that not everyone will be understanding or patient with my child. Not everyone will see what I see; he is beautifully and wonderfully made. I do hope that people will learn to treat others with respect, especially as an employee of a business. Today was a reminder of how cruel people can be and how impatient. It was also a reminder of how loving they can be. I am grateful to the woman who validated my upset because she too knew it's not okay to mistreat those with special needs and she knew how wounded my mommy heart was in that moment. I also really hope that Sherry learns that she needs to be kind to others. Not all children are misbehaving, some have invisible challenges known only to their families. Anyone for that matter may be fighting demons we know nothing about. Be kind and loving to one another. read more

Was here last week and observed this lady raising her voice at an older gentleman walking in the door a min or so after 5, I was still waiting in line to be helped, she yelled out, "WE ARE CLOSED!!" Twice, just RUDE and uncalled for. There's a kind way to let people know that it's past closing time. Again today, it was me who walked in, with another lady and her son, we walked in right at closing time, I just didn't realize the time so that's on me, BUT, this same disgruntled lady, yelled, not once, not twice, but THREE times, "WE ARE CLOSED!!" The 2nd and 3rd time was after the lady and I had already turned around to walk out, I was disgusted by her rudeness and said "OKAY!! WE HEAR YOU, DAMN!!" I get that it's been a long day and you're ready to go home, but in no way shape or form is it okay to yell at customers at your workplace! EFF that lady and I hope she sees this and feels as ridiculous as she should. read more

Traditionally I've had a terrible time utilizing the Post Office for my mailing needs. However, I'm happy to report that this location has got everything under control. I don't ship as much merchandise as I used to, but still ship bike parts from time to time. What really sets them apart in my book is the guy who just hangs out in the lobby assisting anyone with anything. I mean it. You can walk up to him with an unpackaged bike part and say "I need this to be at "x" address in "x" amount of time. He'll walk up to one of the self serve kiosks and knock it out for you in 3 easy minutes. It's stuff like this that really makes a difference. The only thing he couldn't help me with was shipping to Canada, but even then it was very straight forward. I don't want to live outside of driving distance of this post office ever. I called the passport office to schedule an appointment to renew my passport. The last time I renewed my passport it was done in person, so of course, I call to make an appointment. The man that answered the phone was rude right as he picked up the phone. He was VERY sarcastic in answering my questions. At one point he even took a long pause to answer my question. Not sure if he's already having a bad day, but this was the worse customer service I've ever experienced. I said/did nothing to him for him to react that way to me. The drama continues. I'm done with these people. Two weeks ago I received a chewed up key in my mail box that would not open the parcel door assigned to it. took two days to get my package out. This week they put a key in my box for two packages I was to receive. The parcel box was empty. Complaint filed, Postal Supervisor (both of them) less than enthusiastic says not much they can do other than talk to the carrier. We tracked the carrier down on route two days later and found our package in a different parcel box. I had my mailbox stolen and was told by employees it wasn't there problem and there was nothing they could do for me. I've been here a few times to mail international packages. Lines can get long but have always gone rather quickly. All of the employees are nice, helpful and efficient. I always drop off my packages in the drop box inside the lobby. I dropped several packages off on Saturday afternoon at 2:45 pm and the dropbox was jammed, so I gave them to an employee, who also unjammed the dropbox. As of now (Monday morning), not a single one of my packages (several Priority) has updated with tracking, which means that they didn't get picked up on Saturday as they were supposed to (collection times are 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm for that dropbox). What a waste! And why hasn't the second dropbox been fixed yet? It's been a month and it's still covered in Caution tape. read more

Every time I call, the message tells me that I need to call between the hours of 9am to 6pm. Problem is that I called at noon, 1pm, 130pm, and 2pm and still am told to call back during business hours. Then I call the main line and after 20 min of auto prompts, im on hold for another 34 min before a live person comes on the line. They offered to help me by asking me to call this office on the phone even after I told them that no one answers. Its bad enough that the US government had the money to ship bus loads of illegals into our towns from Texas, but cant hire a few more people to take care of the tax paying citizens. read more

Horrible post office! I was supposed to receive a package on the 29th of September and it still has not come to my house. When I look up the tracking number it says that my package was delivered on the 29th. So where is my package? When I call the post office the man had me on speaker phone and was very short with me. He said there was nothing he could do and I needed to make a claim with the USPS. When I called the USPS the woman I talked to you said I could not make a claim because my package didn't have insurance on it and that my post office should have seen that. So now I am out 140 bucks. This was not all taken care of on the same day due to the fact that this post office never answers their phone. Poor customer service. Showed up with a priority mail package that should have cost $5.95 to ship. They wanted to charge $30.00 because they said the contents were to large and I used packing tape to close it. I reminded them , "if it fits it ships" advertising. They refused. Went to another post office and it went no problem. The manager was also rude. He was too engaged in a personal conversation to assist when I asked for a Supervisor.
