My first purchase here was a pair of impalas (that I soon stopped using because of the horrible quality and they were heavy to skate in.) That was an ok experience. Second one was a pair of moxi lollys that were too small and narrow. Third one was a pair of riedells that was also too small. Their return policy is absolutely horrendous. You have to send photos of the skates and then pay for shipping and a restocking fee. They also dropship their stuff, hence the often jacked prices. They don't update their inventory- i asked about a pair of scratch and dent skates but they were sold out - had the audacity to get me to order the same thing at regular price. Ugh. Id rather order from fritzys or literally any other skate shop than here.

There is a great selection of skateboards and all the accessories you need. The guy working in t he store was pretty cool and chill and offered his assistance. Becuase we were just "window shopping", we didn't make any purchases but I found some pretty cool items that my son would love so I will be back to purchase some birthday gifts for him. Parking is a bit hectic, but there is a possibility you can find street parking in the neighborhoods.

A little back story. Pharmacy used to be a few doors down (now an escape room spot), but they've almost always hosted neat events out front with rails and such. I just... Don't skateboard so it was out of sight out of mind somewhat to me. A few weeks ago, I was stalked and harassed by a few dudes in a van who refused to give up and of course it was on a Sunday when hours of local businesses were wonky. I instinctually made a mad dash into Pharmacy while waiting for dispatch to get in touch with me. The man behind the counter was beyond understanding, allowed me to stay as long as needed, and was there for me. *I ended up leaving with a few customers there as they were headed the way I was, strength in numbers for the win. I vowed to return to formally thank the dude and did. I learned how passionate he is with his job, as well as a bit of his history. It made me wish I took up skating because he has the knowledge that those beginning would need (without being "too good" for a newbie). The store itself is well stocked, and has a selection of Pharmacy branded tees, boards, as well as other brands as well. Heck, they even have their own newer version of finger boards to keep your hands entertained. I found the Pharmacy Ambulance board (is it deck technically?) to be especially neat. I immediately went to trying to find any merch with it on it, but it's unfortunately an old classic and discontinued. I'll keep my eyes out for any new drops with it now though. You can tell they look out for their community with the printed events on display too which is an added bonus. =)

May 22, 2024 Opens at 11 am…read more My family and I came to eat locally. The business was closed, so I took the opportunity to go window shopping, so I thought of private sneakers. I'm a huge fan of New Balance shoes, low and behold they had multiple on display, even a new style new balance I have often wondered what lies behind these closed doors. When I say closed I mean locked ! As we went to open the door. Low and behold, Manny unlocks the door! I had to ask why they were locked. Unfortunately, folks can walk in and out without paying. So doors are kept locked. Personally, I enjoyed my 40-minute shopping experience alone with my family having Manny to ourselves to ask questions regarding New Balance shoes. I may have never bought one pair, let alone two pairs, without his personal assistance. I seen these very new new balance shoes, half open grey shoes on the shelf. Manny mentioned these were their newest in store. He brought me 3 different pairs until I had the perfect fit. I'm taking them @ $150.00 Manny did the same for my mother in law. She was a bit more challenging in shoe. You see, she is petite with the smallest foot I've ever known for an adult. Manny brought several different new balance shoes. He finally brought out a 4 1/2 new balance 9060 in dark blue shoe (kids) @ $110.00. Add those to my order as well. Why I like new balance shoes they come Wide, I have a big wide foot. The stability, balance, and shock absorption. Overall, quality shoes are out the door. Overall experience with Manny and Johnny 5 stars, Atmosphere was poppin' when I was not taking photos I was dancing. The beats were great. 5 stars .

It's hard to say that about every (or any for that matter) commercial retail business. They have just about everything you could need for sports, hobbies, little league, etc., and the selection is solid across the board. I've also brought my bike in for a couple of tune-ups and have had nothing but great experiences each time. I really enjoy the investment in the community that SB does. They have pickleball courts and pool tables on the third floor that are open for community use, and they regularly host events across their locations, which is pretty rad. Overall, Sports Basement gets my business every time over other major sporting goods stores. Great people, great vibes, and a strong sense of community.
