Made a visit here over the weekend. The atmosphere was casual and lively. There were folks watching the game and some just there to eat. The service was friendly and quick. The veggie burger was solid. Overall, a nice neighborhood / sports bar with great atmosphere.

Came here with some friends for a lunch. They were busy but we were lucky enough to find a table. The food is good and pretty unique imo. It wasn't just regular burgers. They were well made with fresh toppings. Our server was great! I wish the parking situation was better! We had to park across the street behind another business.

The atmosphere is awesome. Who wouldn't want to eat in an indoor/outdoor garage style place with dogs hanging about! Kids are also welcome! The food was so fresh and delicious. Drinks were equally as tasty. We are not local but glad we passed and decided to stop here!

Our food was delicious, amazing wait staff, self seating, great vibe there, awesome for a date night or just a quick bite!

Exposed brick and old wood booth seating. The large GULF sign is homage to the former garage the establishment once was.

Atmosphere is everything, and this place has it. Exposed brick with industrial elements make this former garage super trendy and fun. They have outdoor seating as well as old wood booths and even a bar to sit and watch a game. Our server, Michael, was very attentive and friendly. He was knowledgeable about the menu and answered every question we had. We wandered in on a Sunday around 2, and he told us we still had time to order off the Brunch Menu. The AVACADO TOAST IS TO DIE FOR! Just get it! My husband ordered a beer and I had a Firefly Lemon Drop Martini with sugared rim. I had the Brunch Burger, served with bacon and egg on top with tater tots. My husband had the Brisket Hash. We left thoroughly happy and full and bid farewell with intentions to come back and often!

There's something for everyone at Universal Joint. There's nachos & quesadillas to wings & burgers and plenty of vegetarian options. For their burgers, you choose between a classic beef patty, chicken breast, turkey burger or veggie patty. Then you choose what you want on it from their "variations" section. Tons of options from just cheese to the Firecracker with jalapeños and jalapeño aioli to the California with bacon and avocado. They have a full bar with more than a dozen beers on tap, different wines and their specialty cocktail menu. - California Chicken Sandwich: Sooo good! 6 oz grilled chicken breast with the California toppings of cheddar, grilled onions, bacon and avocado. Hmm hmm! - Buffalo chicken sandwich: Definitely has a kick to it! - Shrimp & Grits: This may have been a special since I didn't see this on the menu when I went back. But this was amazing!!

LOVE. THIS. PLACE. We go here multiple times a week sometimes, and this restaurant is easily one of the best places to go if you want a great patio and atmosphere. They have delicious and creative weekly specials, but my usual go-to is either the Turkey Pita Club or Steinbeck Burger.

Everything is made from scratch; from the fresh burger patties and soft, homemade buns to the delicious pralines they hand out as a sweet palate cleanser at the end of your meal. You can absolutely taste the difference. The restaurant is small with limited seating (first come, first served), with seating along the windows and down the side, and a couple of outdoor tables. You order at the counter, grab your number, and then find a seat. Even though it's a casual, fast-service restaurant, the hospitality was anything but ordinary. We were greeted the moment we walked in by the sweetest older gentleman whose genuine Southern hospitality made us feel so welcome. He even stopped by to chat with us during our meal, making the whole experience feel warm and personal. The food was outstanding! My burger was cooked perfectly....juicy, flavorful, and served on one of the best hamburger buns I've ever had. It was incredibly soft but somehow never got soggy or fell apart, even with all the cheese and sauce. They offer about 10 different flavor options for burgers. They even offer grilled chicken sandwiches and Open face burgers. I ordered the Sawyer Burger ($13.95), topped with chili garlic glazed pork belly, Asian slaw, and crispy onion straws. It was absolutely delicious and well worth the price considering the quality and generous portion. The fries deserve their own review! So many burger places treat fries as an afterthought, but not here. The portions are huge and perfectly seasoned. I chose the Buffalo Blue Cheese fries, and they were packed with flavor. I wish I'd had room to try the Parmesan fries, which sounded like a customer favorite. Even the tiny bathroom was charming, covered in funny and quirky signs that made me smile. If I lived in Greenville, I'd definitely become a regular. Amazing food, generous portions, homemade quality, friendly service, and true Southern hospitality. I can't recommend this place enough!

My husband got the Heat Wave Burger again, but this time it wasn't spicy like it was during our first visit. He said it was okay, but nothing special. I ordered Kim's Honey Chicken Sandwich, which was way too sweet for me, and the bread was soggy from the sauce. The tots and onion rings were probably the best part of our meals. Hubs had the meatballs (which the server said they only had two left...a friend nabbed the others) and other friends had the moules (mussels) frites and the braised short rib IIRC. The *.frites were the biggest hits. My filet was perfect, Sharon was raving about her mussels being the best she's had in ages. I had a bite of the meatballs, they were ok but people agreed there are better things on their menu. I love that the frites come with a choice of 3 out of about 10 different custom mayos (aiolis for the fancy-schmancy). I tried the curry, sriracha, and a fruity one I can't remember exactly what it was. I liked the fruity one the best and to my surprise, the curry the least (I usually love curry, but the balance was off). The sriracha mayo was too subtle for me, I slather sriracha mayo on my burgers regularly. I have no class. The frites were fresh cut and I enjoyed them but there were far more than I could eat on my plate, and sadly frites don't keep. They have my favorite super sweet Lindemann's framboise lambic on tap; I've only ever had it in bottles before, so that was a treat. My husband thinks I'm crazy to drink it because it is SO SWEET but I love it. So does Sharon, and clearly we're not alone or they wouldn't waste a tap on it :). It's beer for people who hate beer. (I resemble that remark. Maybe hate is a strong word. But in my 30s I realized I'd rather drink a soda than a beer, except for this one.) Desserts sounded good but we were too stuffed to order any. Next time I come, I may try the mussels, or I might just order that steak again.

It's in a basement that feels like a pleasant dungeon or a 1500's rogue tavern, you know, the kind in the movies where plots to overturn evil rulers are hatched. It is a unique vibe and after your meal, when emerging back onto the brightly lit street, it's akin to stepping out of a secret place and back into the light of day. The beer selection is impressive. This food is Belgian inspired. Hence the name being derived from a mix of Trappist Monks, trap doors, and a hidden underground enclave. Many of the beers have higher alcohol content, listed on the menu, be advised. The specialty is Moules Frites, mussels prepared in various broths and fries double fried in duck fat served with a flight of your choice of flavored mayonnaise such as wasabi, curry, truffle, sriracha, etc. Very good. Reservations are highly recommended. It was a busy Thursday at 6:30pm and the place was literally packed, even the bar. The two of us were seated in a large, dark, alcove booth fitting for six or perhaps even eight. We had a reservation, so the hostess said, "we may as well fill it" since it was that crowded. Being such, it was five minutes before we were noticed and placed our drink orders, another five before our water arrived and we ordered and about 30 minutes later to get our food. In between we were left to ourselves. The service was not negligent, but it was minimal and not really friendly either. It was a busy night, so we will have grace. But the mussels were delicious. We both had the Provincale, a rich, savory, Mediterranean sauce of tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Bourdain says "never order the mussels", in his Kitchen Confidential book, but here you are safe because they are very popular and the main feature. I've probably said this before and it is worth repeating, they need to up their crusty bread game. The broth is so good and the accompanying bread just doesn't lend itself to bringing the dish to another level, but it could were it better bread. This is a solid and must do restaurant experience when visiting Greenville. It arguably should be the "one" restaurant you must visit in town because of its unique ambiance and unique food & beverage.
