Decided to try lunch specials and got the lunch portion Pork Schnitzel with Potato Pancakes and Gurkensalat (fresh cucumber salad with yogurt/sour cream dressing) My companion ordered the Buffalo Sandwich but opted for pork rather than chicken. A surprising choice that turned out to be a very good one! Came with 2 sides, chose fries and red cabbage. We also ordered the cheese spatzle with butter cheese and gruyere. Nice day so we dined outside on the patio. Our server (didn't get his name) was helpful and quick with our beverages and order. Everything came out quickly, hot and fresh. The schnitzel was perfectly fried and tender. The potato pancakes crisp and delicious with applesauce and sour cream toppings! Gurkensalat, fresh slightly crunchy cucumbers in a light creamy dressing. Perfect summer salad! The Buffalo sandwich with pork instead of chicken was amazing! Cooked to tender perfection with just the right amount of buffalo sauce and heat. The grilled pretzel bun with cheese, lettuce and tomato was excellent. The fries were a great companion to the Buffalo sandwich. Red cabbage rounded out the meal adding both color and texture to the lunch. I come to this restaurant every time I visit Sanford as I love German food and the staff here is so friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend Hollerbach's German Restaurant for delicious German Food, great atmosphere and friendly service! Excelent Local Restaurant!

Authentic German Lunch with Great Service…read more Yesterday we met our friends for our monthly lunch outing, and this time we chose Hollerbach's German Restaurant in Sanford. It turned out to be a great pick. They seated us in a big, open room -- no sound‑absorbing décor, but surprisingly, it never felt loud or echoey. We could talk comfortably the whole time. There's also a charming little German market next door where you can pick up groceries and specialty items. Our server, Rebecca, made the experience even better. She was upbeat, knowledgeable, and handled our group like a pro. When we told her each couple needed separate checks, she gave a playful wink and said, "I gotcha." She also made sure to check that I was okay with their unsweetened iced tea having a peach flavor before bringing it out. Small details like that go a long way. I ordered the Jäger Schnitzel, and the flavor was fantastic -- rich, savory, and comforting. The only downside was that it wasn't hot, more on the warm side, as if it had been waiting a bit. Still delicious. My spouse ordered the Sauerbraten, which looked great, though I thought the meat was a little dry even with the gravy. My goulash soup starter, however, was excellent. The place was busy, and I saw people waiting outside, so reservations are definitely a good idea. We all enjoyed our meals and the chance to catch up. Hollerbach's is now on our list of places to return to for both the food and the German grocery items next door.

He gave great recommendations and made the whole experience even better. The food coming out of the kitchen was absolutely outstanding, compliments to the Chef Rolf - because everything tasted authentic and delicious. Tony was also extremely welcoming and friendly. I already can't wait to come back, especially either during Oktoberfest or in December for the holiday atmosphere. Prost!!!!

DATE NIGHT NEW PLACES ADVENTURE!!!…read more The wife and I went to Krush Brau Park for what was supposed to be an Event this past Sept. Live Band, Classic Car Show, Food, Beer, Wine. A real Event!!! Well when we got there we found out that it was not an Event at all. The Event was under a tent on the other side of the parking lot from their main restaurant. So we took the walk over through the parking lot while passing their under construction brewery building. When we walk into the tent we find... First: Very little people. For an Event I would think the large tent would at least be half full, 50-60 people. It was not, there was probably about 20 patrons present. As we sat their we saw other couples or Families doing the same thing they ordered food and were stuck till they got it. They ate it and left. That's exactly what we did as well. There were people who stayed the whole time, but they were drinking one beer after another practically. Actually saw a guy get carried out by his friends. Glad my kids weren't with us. The environment was relaxed and semi festive with flags, but not much else. Second: No live band. Music was from someone's phone with commercials, lol. Honestly, even if they had a live band. With how tall the stage is in comparison to the tent. You wouldn't see them playing unless you were in the first 5 feet of the tent. There is a very small grass space in between and that doesn't help much as then you wouldn't most likely be blocking that 5 foot into the tent. It a good layout for live music visuals. Third: the food. As I looked around I saw very little consumers with food. We can here to specifically try their Bavarian pretzels. So we said let's get a drink and a pretzel then bounce to the next spot!!! We ordered a Mojito 12$, Coke 2$ & Bavarian Pretzel 10$. We were given our drinks and we waited and waited and waited. 26 mins for a pretzel!!! We were almost done with our drinks when we finally got the pretzel. The pretzel was soft, but small and luke warm. Not hot and fresh. The beer cheese was good, but standard taste. Now we saw why barely anyone had food when we walked in. We found that rather than serving the food direct at the restaurant or have a trailer at the tent to cook in. They were driving the food over from the main restaurant and causing a large gap in serving time to this not existent Event. This is creating a Timelapse and outside temp exposure to all the food before giving it to the consumers. Service was ok. The people were very nice, but you did feel forgotten about unless you walked up for something as they just stood in the booths and weren't out cleaning tables or talking with customers. It was more like a hang out under the tent and a separate one for the employees in the Service Trailer. Hopefully they will figure it out, but Krush Brau Park needs allot of improvement in their Events & SOP's before we will ever return for any reason!!! (SOP's= Standard Operating Procedures) Was hoping for a Fun New Place, but we will have to wait to give this pace a second chance once the brewery is open. It did look very cool with a large rock or mountain on the outside so I kinda can't wait to see what they do on the inside. Also, to see where they can go and how they change their Pretzel and Service Practices. Maybe the Main Restaurant is a better experience, but the pretzel wasn't really worth the price or Tasty enough to make us want to go back to try their sausages or spend money on anything else at this time. AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

But... seems like every time I come back there are less and less beers. I am worried that they are not going to make it and for craft beer enthusiasts this is the best thing in the area. Especially because anything else close is 20 plus minutes away. With that being said, this would be a great place for groups or to start a low key date. There is craft beer, wine, cider, THC beverages and they even have a few mixed drinks as well as JELLO SHOTS! All the mixed drinks are wine based liquor which is quite progressive. They don't really have food, but there is a Publix in this same mall area, plus about 5 other restaurants including: Chinese, Japanese, sushi, burgers, Thai, pizza and donuts. To give you an idea of how it works, you give them a form of payment, they give you a card and you serve your own draft by the ounce. It is a great concept because you can pour yourself as much or a little as you want. And it tracks your spending so there are no surprises at the end of your visit. In addition, there are TVs, a jukebox and games. Tipping is optional, but there is friendly service and every couter person I have interacted with has been fantastic. I would highly recommend this hidden gem and with more support, especially from the craft beer culture, maybe this place will survive. And to be perfectly transparent, this is mostly because I selfishly want a convenient place to get craft beer on draft. Come visit Tap that Beer House, it is an experience all it's own.
