This tour is not very good. Most of the hot spots don't exist anymore and its a bit cheezy with the tour guides. You do not get out of the bus at all and the most exciting part is a bullethole in the church. I give props to the guides for doing what they can with such a thin tour around Chicago. read more

This was a FANTASTIC TOUR. My 15 year old son says this was the highlight of the trip to Chicago. Winky and Johnny Rocco were the best guides. Very knowledgeable about the city and the mob roots within it. The bus was clean and the jokes were dirty! Just as they should be when talking about mobsters. Even though I have visited Chicago many times over the years, I learned some new things during this fun and engaging tour. The bus tour takes you to many different Chicago neighborhoods while you learn about the city and the infamous gangsters that once flourished there. I would highly recommend this tour to new visitors as well as seasoned fans of all things Chicago! I really wanted this to be good. On the positive side, the tour did show us parts of Chicago I wouldn't have seen otherwise. However, in an hour and forty five minute tour, I learned nothing. The host was not informative, somewhat distracted, and didn't give me any sense of what life was like in 1920's Chicago. He left much to be desired, starting stories and trailing off. Just went this afternoon for the 1:00 tour and had such an awesome time! Our guides were Shoulders and Knuckles..who were super informative and funny! This was something i was really looking forward to it. I told my girlfriend and she wanted to check it out as well. Its 25.00 for a 2 hour tour in a black school bus and its air conditioned. I know your probably thinking this is weird,but believe me it was one of the more fun things we did when we were there. The tour guide big julie & shoulders showed us around all over Chicago. They explain all the different gangsters in Chicago area and talk a lot about al capone and his lifestyle.They are also very funny and they have fun doing there job,which means a lot.You meet at the rock & roll McDonalds and take off from there. You can pay at the bus but its recommended paying over the phone and making reservations.We enjoyed this very much and if your in Chicago this is a must to learn more about prohibition & gangsters back in the days. read more

Really great tour! Matches and Winky made it it a great experience! We learned SO much and got to see some great places in the city. Matches was an AMAZING actor and hilarious! Upon entering the bus you get a great paper guide with pictures that greatly helps you understand what is being talked about! We especially loved the order then gangsters were introduced in and how it was broken down by North, South, and West side! The stop at Marios was much appreciated! Bus was clean and comfortable. It was a very warm day and the bus was well air conditioned. My one comment/concern would be that, at the beginning of the tour, an older lady asked that the air be turned down, and it was, and it got HOT! Like uncomfortably hot! The air was off most of the trip. A suggestion would be to asks guests to bring a sweater because the bus is air conditioned. read more

I had a lot of fun on this tour. Yes, it was cheesy, and yes, the guys who run it are complete goofs...but this tour was a blast. They give you a really great history of Chicago and you get to see a lot of locations you might not see on your regular visit to Chicago while getting some good stories about the gangsters that made Chicago what it is. I was even more impressed after going on the Ghost Tour and being sorely disappointed by the presentation. I had a lot more fun and learned (in a fun way!) a lot more about the city on the Gangster Tour than I would have thought. In fact, I spent most of the Ghost Tour telling my boyfriend tid-bits I learned on this tour. Good story tellers and worth the trip! read more

This was an enjoyable tour. Our guide was Slippery Sloop and driver Shoulders. Lots of interesting stories and corny jokes that made the 2 hours fly by. You should be aware that the entire trip is on the bus - N opportunity to get off and walk around. Also, most of the locations in the stories told no longer actually exist, though you see the sites and neighborhoods where the events took place. Nevertheless, I'd still recommend this as a good thing to do to get some insight into a fascinating era in Chicago's history. read more

This was a terrific tour! My husband and I had a lot of fun listening to the stories of prohibition and the gangsters and all. I highly recommend it. The one improvement that really needs to be made is to make the tour or at least one of them handicap friendly. I use a mobility scooter and had all ready bought my tickets before I found out it was not handicap accessible. To be completely fair it was stated on the website in the FAQ section, however, I did not feel the need to read the FAQ until I realized there was no office where I could store my scooter until after the tour. Fortunately, the McDonalds on the corner by the pick up point accommodated me and had a place I could put it for a couple of hours. Please Untouchable Tours, work on handicap access for us. Went on the tour on Saturday August 24th. Waste of money! Was really excited about going on this and from the start the driver didn't know where he was going and the tour guide was having to tell him directions on where to go. This is a bus tour so I thought at one point they took us off the bus and the driver left with the buss. The tour guide talked for like 20 minutes and the bus still wasn't back. Total waste of my time and money. Don't waste your money on this tour. read more

it was very disappointing. there was nothing more than listening to old folks telling stories on a moving bus. guides were fun, but by themselves. I didn't find their jokes funny one bit. no more historical sites to see, just like the other yelpers said. better read the stories from the internet with pictures at home. the bus's AC was not working properly so and i felt uncomfortable for the entire tour. perhaps, it's not my cup of tea, but i don't recommend this tour if you are not in your retirement trying to have something to add to your travel itinerary. read more

This tour was like a 'stand up comedy' performance on wheels. We really enjoyed Johnny Three Knives and his account of the three gangs of ole mobster Chicago. Even though some of the buildings are no longer standing, he made us feel like we were reliving the chaotic/shoot-up days of Al Capone. Great job to all. It was a bit cheesy with some of the lines and having to duck every time they played gun noises, but I think it went very well with the theme of the tour. This tour was a great afternoon of lighthearted fun! My siblings and I booked this for my Dad's birthday in October. He's a huge history buff, and we knew he'd love it (and he did!). We covered almost the entire city, and learned a LOT of non-mob related Chicago history. The guys doing it are having a blast, and it shows. I hate tours with disinterested guides, but this was not the case at all. They are cheesy, yes-but you can tell they enjoy their jobs! The only disappointment/downside is that a lot of the places no longer exist or have been built over. This isn't entirely the tour company's fault, but that was the main thing we all complained about after the tour. There was corny Italian music, machine gun sounds effects, prizes, and amazing Chicago and mob history...what more could you ask for? read more

My family and three guests from California all thought it was a complete waste of time, it was extremely cheesy. I really was looking forward to this tour for several years. "Shoulders" and "Knuckles" our two tour guides had a lot of inside jokes, poor impressions and lots of information that had nothing to do with Chicago. Nice guys, but very little time was spent on the rich gangster history of Chicago. Multiple stories were cut off halfway through in attempts to be funny. This tour has a ton of potential but this was a complete waste of time and money. Learned next to nothing. If you like really touristy things that are a little cheesy without much substance, you will still enjoy this tour. My guests from California made fun of me the rest of the week about taking them on this. read more
