After dealing with a leaking master bathroom sink for over a year, which my dad and husband could not get to stop, I decided to call in the professionals. Of course I turned to yelp, because I did not want to have to pay an arm and a leg and I wanted good service. I called Up2code and Mike called me back within the day. We setup an appointment and he arrived right on time. He wasn't even in my house 15 minutes before he had a diagnosis and a fix. The entire drain needed to be replaced and while I wanted it done, I was a little worried how much it would cost. Mike replaced the drain and was done in about 45 minutes. Total cost was under $130! They were recommended to me by the company I bought my tankless hot water heater from. Their representative was late, had unwashed, greasy hair, filthy clothing and a butt crack showing when he bent over. I was grateful to have a mask and some latex gloves for him in this time of the virus. First try, unsuccessful, said he needed a part and that he ordered it. I do not hear from them for 4 days. Remember, I am now without hot water. I called only to learn that the part was not ordered and that the hot water heater company wanted to try some trouble shooting before sending a part. I had to call them to find this out..... Came back for a second try, unsuccessful again. When I called to get them to come back they told me they couldn't because it was a warranty job and they were not getting paid. I called the hot water heater company back and learned that they had figured out that the issue was related to installation, but uptocode never told me that, nor did they offer to repair it. They just left me with a non-functioning machine, did not share the information about what it would take to fix it. This company sucks and I do not recommend them. I had a bad experience with Up2code. My pilot light went out and no hot water on 3/3/19 Up2code comes out on 3/5/19. They replace 2 parts and says wait for 20 minutes before hot water pressure comes back on. I wait an hour, 2 hours no hot water. I call back on 3/6/19 and the assistant took a message and someone will cb. The person who repaired the Hotwater heater says it's a PGE issue. PG&E comes out on Friday 3/8/19 wrote a report that stated Gas pressure and other tests are good. Wife calls and explains situation and on-call person hangs up on Wife because she's upset that not hot water. The send same guy out on Monday 3/11/19. He forgot to turn Hot Water Switch on. Requested call back from Owner Mike on 3/6/19 still haven't heard from him and no apologies for bad service, hang up, no call back. Facts. I'm a bit overdue for this review! We recently sold our place and upon inspection they found a leak in our tub faucet. I was given a recommendation by our handyman and called these guys up. A week later, we had our appointment and everything went smoothly. Joe needed to shut off the water for 10-15 minutes, however, we live in a condo with 3 other attached homes. Joe was thoughtful of our neighbors and went to their doors to check to see if they were okay with the water being shut off for a bit. Either they were not there or they okay'd the shut off and Joe did his thing and was all done as quick as possible. Over the phone Krista had given me the minimum cost before our appointment, and the final bill ended up not much over that, and included a replaced part. My only slight issue is that there is a piece that must be part of what rotted out so the edges are a bit rough, I don't know if there would be anything they could do about that anyway, it's part of the faucet and doesn't look like a removable part, but something to cover it may have been helpful if it was possible. I did not address this with the company as it's behind the faucet lever and not in the way of operation. Our hot water heater went out on a Thursday but we were able to contact and schedule a repair for the following Monday with Up2Code Plumbing. The entire customer service felt wrong from the beginning but we were committed and needed the hot water heater fixed. I ended up having to call back Thursday night to confirm the appointment because the call taker/scheduler did not call back as promised. Monday morning I was supposed to get a call to pin point the time but no one called. When I called the company at 9AM I was told they were not coming out as scheduled that they would try to come out the next day. Now we are without a hot water heater for five days and no real relief in site. Had to call another plumber. Companies that can't keep commitments eventually go away. Bye-bye read more

I'd give them zero stars if I could. First off, they aren't cheap which makes this all the more frustrating. It took forever for them to even put us on their schedule pushing our project out several weeks. When they installed the rough plumbing it didn't pass inspection (the toilet vent had negative drainage AND the sewer line wasn't at the minimum slope) and then they didn't seem real interested in coming out to fix their mistake, which of course, held us back even more because we couldn't pour the foundation until they passed inspection. We're now down to just doing the final plumbing/finishes. My husband and I took time off work when they could be here so we could finish the building and be here for final inspection. The day they scheduled, a Tuesday, they were supposed to be here at 9am. It wasn't until my husband called at 9:30am to find out they weren't coming and they rescheduled for Thursday. On Thursday they didn't show up on time. We kept being promised later and later times and they finally showed up at 1pm. Not even an apology for being late. They hooked up the water to the building and installed the toilet. He told us he needed to go to the plumbing supply in the morning to get some parts and then would finish. He could of finished that day if he had shown up on time. He never showed up today (Friday). When my husband called he was told the plumber wasn't working today. So now we're here with unfinished plumbing, the two sinks are not hooked up (one isn't even installed yet). The hot water lines aren't installed or hooked up to the water heater. We were planning on having our final inspection before having to return to work but it looks like we're going to have to take more time off of work to do that since now we're looking for a new plumber. I've never had a company treat us so poorly. We were excessively patient with them but we finally had enough. *EDIT* My husband called Mike to find out what was going on and Mike immediately started yelling and became verbally abusive over the phone while also threatening to sue us. We told him we would pay him for the work they've done but that wasn't enough. He was scary and not someone I would want on my property ever again. If he was calm and had simply said "I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding, I can't come out today but I can come on Monday to finish" everything would have been fine. read more

I left specific instructions on which numbers to call at exactly the times I would be at that particular phone number. They obviously don't listen to their messages. Three times they called the number I was not at. Then they get upset. Extremely unprofessional!! In the end, I never was able to get them to help me. My review is belated, but I wanted to take the time to recognize Joe Scola and the Up2Code Plumbing team. I had a leak in my water main just before the Labor Day holiday. Up2Code was one of several plumbers I called as they are in Benicia and I am a local. They couldn't come out that week, so I continued to call around for someone who could. Got the Leak detected, but Estimate seemed high. The weekend passed, and the Holiday and I'm working on getting someone for the repair. I called back to Up2Code and as noted the week prior, they had another job but would see if they could squeeze me in. Found a company who could come Wed., Great! Tues, Original Company, pushes to Wed. OK, Wed comes, they say: Push to Friday. Here we are at another weekend and my water main is still leaking (all I can think is $$). Friday morning comes and Original Company bails again. Desperate, I called Up2Code again. The office staff remembers me from earlier in the week and the week before. "Send me a picture, I'll try to get someone out"... Finally, here comes Joe Scola at 3pm on a Friday, after completing another job and he originally says we can do it Monday. Defeated in the process, I'm saying "OK"- at everone's mercy. Next thing you know Joe calls me, says nah, this should be pretty quick and easy - he went back to the shop to get some tools and here he is fixing it right then and there. It's now 6pm on a Friday and Joe GETS IT DONE. My hubby is out of town. Joe carefully explains step by step what to do to get the water back on so air in the pipes doesn't do damage....I'm carefully writing it all down after he repeats it one more time. I had this company come out to our shop and repair a sloan urinal with a rebuild kit and also look at a toilet in the mens bathroom that was leaking water. They came and left saying the repairs were complete. The next day the Sloan urinal valve would not shut off. They came back out and performed a rework..so ar so good. The next week the toilet began to leak again at the base. Two jobs and two reworks..not good. The plumber did seem a little green and perhaps was new to the business. I ended up calling another Benicia plumber and they came out and replaced the wax flange seal on the bottom which was the correct diagnosis to begin with. The Up2Code plumber only installed a few shims which only masked the issue. Just too much rework for my likeing and they were not thorough in their evaluation. read more

They immediately passed on contact of their California based service provider Up2Code. On October 18, 2019 I contacted Jackie at Up2Code and she immediately assigned their technician to visit us. A very competent Technician ( Kyle ?, sorry if I am unable to remember your correct name. You were so humble and skilled ) arrived our home and did a thorough inspection. Mike has all the good energy and intention that comes with owning and loving your own business. He is available, and cares about his work. I have a big dental practice, that has endless water pipes running through the ceiling to the rooms. Inevitably one of those pipes springs a leak and Mike has saved us more than once. Last week it was a drain pipe from our washer at the office. Its all better now. Next week he will be coming out to my house to fix our outside leaking faucets. I had only droplets of running water in the kitchen faucet and low pressure in the upstairs bathroom, all pointing to some kind of blockage. After calling various companies and getting some outrageous hourly quotes (as well some "free estimates" which later seemed to point to outrageous bills!), I spoke to Mike. He got me an appointment on the same day which was a lifesaver! He called ahead to let me know he was on his way , as per my request, and showed up on time. He was very courteous, professional and answered all my plumbing maintenance questions. Even though the issue wasn't in the entire house, he made sure to check the overall pressure but noticed it was on the higher end, which was good. The problem turned out to be debris- related and fairly easy to fix, thank God. This organization is in way over their heads! They do not have basic business courtesy or any knowledge of fundamental customer service. This is unacceptable, especially in a small town. We were able to get a quote and then it went completely down hill after that. They held up a major project for weeks. We finally gave up after repeatedly calling them, being promised a service date multiple times with no show, no calls. We requested several call backs with no response. We even went out and talked to Krista at the shop and was promised over and over again that someone would be out to our house on specific dates. We prepared our house several times for service (no easy feat) and no one showed up. Regardless of the circumstances, a simple courtesy call is a priority. We finally hired someone else who got the job done within days in a professional manner. read more

I had a high water bill for two months and was referred to up2code through a friend and they came out very quick and found that I had a slab leak in the line going to my bathroom. They gave me a very fair price and ran a new line through the attic with almost no down time.
