This groomer did a beautiful job at grooming my mini golden doodle puppy. Priscilla showed up with an awesome grooming van and instantly handled my puppy with such love and care. I asked her to decide what's the best cut for him and Priscilla examined his coat super closely before making her recommendation. His puppy nails had gotten really sharp too so I asked for them to be trimmed and dulled. Priscilla delivered my puppy totally transformed with perfect nails and the softest fluffed cut!! Did she suddenly forget she had a business and clients? I've had pain killers. Never made me forget my livelihood. Very unprofessional. Cancelled and made an appointment elsewhere. I am sorry you handled me badly and now regret it, but you had the issues not me. Updating based on lack of response from Up Pup and Away: Since you seem to want it all out in the open and you won't take down your disparaging accusations about me, then I would like to offer these screen grabs as evidence for potential clients to decide for themselves if they want to risk doing business with you. Hello Everyone, This was our first time getting our dog groomed and Priscilla was supper good with our dog. Our dog Nia is a dog aggressive and human aggressive 14 year old Pitbull Lab mix. But Priscilla was able to handle her perfectly without a muzzle or medication. We got Nia groomed because she has flees. After NIa got out of the van the flees started falling off of her dying right away! I found some live ones trying to escape the medication but that's the medication working. Priscilla was amazing. My dog hurt her nail and she was bleeding and I was in a panic. I called Priscilla and she was so kind and caring. She helped us right away and was able to cut my dogs dead nail (and my dog was not very cooperative) but she was so patient and gentle. Up Pup And Away mobile grooming has truly been a life changing experience for me and my pup Harley. Harley is a rescue dog and has a lot of trauma from her previous abuse. Understandably, she doesn't allow just anyone near her. She is skiddish and although is rather small, she has a tendency to nip. We used to take her to another groomer around town and I knew something was wrong when I noticed she would start shaking the moment we would be close by. I also saw them dragging her with a leash, causing her to choke. I called the groomer at Up Pup And Away, explained our situation. They were so great and took their time with our Harley. I never once felt rushed or like they were annoyed with having to coax her, slowly approaching, talking to her in a soft voice, allowing her time to open up, going at her own pace. RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN. Worse grooming experience I have ever had. My trusted groomer moved away and I thought I was making the right decision in hiring this company. To start, Priscilla charged me $95 for the 1/2 hour she spent on my dog. My dog was returned to me with matts on it's legs and hair shedding everywhere. When I asked her why there were clumps of hair that you could pull off her coat, she said I had to pay for another appointment for de-shedding. Unbelievable! Scammer. SHYSTER! She also used some oily perfumed spray she said would "Set" the hair. I would rub her coat and have a residue on my hands. It was gross. Everything I asked her to do was not done: no sanitary cut, NO on the feet and pads trimmed and anal glands NOT done. Her reason? She said she couldn't do them because my dog was whining. My dog has been groomed many times before and never an issue. AND then to make matters worse because I had to change the location of my appointment she charged me extra to travel from Glendale to Altadena and didn't tell me about a price change until she asked for payment. Terrible communication. She offered to groom again and NO way will I do that. Now I have to have her groomed again. Horrible. I was taken advantage of, charged full price for a groom with services that I did not receive and my dog looks like it hasn't been groomed in months. Terrible! It's all about the money with these people. She did NOT WEAR A MASK during our interaction. STAY AWAY. REPLYING to your response: Take responsibility for doing a BAD JOB. My dog had a small foxtail removed form its paw, and I had approval from my vet for grooming. Both back legs were matted which I showed you. To remind you of the inept job you did here's some photos. Okay, this is going to be long, but if you're considering using this groomer, it's probably worth a read. Current COVID situation aside, I thrive on convenience. This is why I tend to go for a mobile grooming service. The groomers I have used in the past were booked, so I contacted Priscilla via text for a full groom -- also another pro. It was very easy to schedule an appointment. Looking through her Yelp reviews, many of her lower starred reviews were due to her not being punctual, which I didn't worry about too much, since where am I really going these days? So, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, especially since the ratio of good to bad reviews was pretty decent. So yes, day of the appointment (last Thursday, 6/25), she was about 1.5 hours late due to traffic. She did give me notification ahead of time and because of these other reviews, I wasn't surprised. She was very pleasant -- especially given the fact that my dog was matted very bad as I wasn't able to get a groom for months. Side note, he was also born blind, so he gets nervous fairly easily, especially during a groom. So when she told me that she would need to return later because 1. he was very squirrely and 2. she needed to order something, I was understanding. I was even understanding when I agreed to pay half of the grooming cost now and the other half later. The total was $90, so she asked for $45 now and $45 later. I'm a non-confrontational person by nature and only had twenties, so instead of giving her $40 now, I gave her $60, just to show good faith. Priscilla texted me later and told me that she would come back on Monday or Tuesday to finish the job. Monday and Tuesday came and went and I reached out on Wednesday. She said that the thing she ordered was "shipping today" and she would have to come on Thursday. I asked her "what time?" and she never responded. Today is Friday and I still haven't heard from her, over a week since his initial appointment. I told her that I understand that she was busy and thanked her for her time (via text) and told her I would find another groomer to finish the job. At the end of the day, I paid $60 for a shave job with his ears left long and matted fur left around his private area, tail, and one leg. I had asked for a full groom, which has always included a bath and nail cut with past groomers, but I ended up having to give him a bath myself after the appointment because he still had all the fur left from the shave all over his body and his nails were left long. I would hope that if she had ever come back the second time, she would have given him a bath and cut his nails. Overall, I was hesitant to write this review, because like I said, I'm a non-confrontational person and I've seen that she can be pretty defensive in response to bad reviews. Also, I was embarrassed because my dog was so matted that I was okay with poor service, just so I could get him groomed without judgment. But this isn't fair to myself, my dog, or any future customers. I'm probably going to end up paying much more overall to finish the groom. read more

Priscilla groomed my pup a few months ago, right at the start of the pandemic. It was a good experience when it came to customer service. She was punctual, communicative, professional, and practiced social distancing (which is why I give 3 stars). But I had some issues with the actual grooming which has given me pause about returning. The first thing that bummed me out was that the length of the guards she used was really limited--I only had three to choose from: one that was super short (to the skin), one that was not as short, and then medium. I've gone to groomers many times who were able to change the length of the cut by 1/4inch increments, so I was surprised that I wasn't able to get the exact length that I wanted. I eventually settled on the in-between length which was fine at the time, but I ultimately wished that I had had more options because she grew it out pretty fast and needed another cut about three weeks later. When I got my dog back, she looked good but there were parts of her cut that weren't even. Some spots were longer than others, particularly her feet/toe pads. Those actually didn't look like they were done at all and I had to go in and clip them myself. There were other areas of her that didn't seem as thorough--her ears, her belly/groin area, her chest. One of my biggest disappointments was that her nails weren't cut down. They had definitely gotten trimmed, but they were still pretty long; long enough that I inquired about it before she left and she assured me that they were cut and if she had gone any shorter, she would've injured her. But after having gotten my dog just groomed by another groomer and seeing the way her nails look now, I know that they should've been shorter. The other thing that disappointed me was that my dog got knicked in the process of the grooming on a spot where she has a skin tag--which is fine, it happens. I just wished Priscilla would've told me when she gave her back to me. I mean, I could see that it was there and I could see the blood, but I figured it was just a scratch (it turned out to be a bit more than that). I just found it weird that she didn't say something. Like, "Hey, just so you know, she got knicked in this spot. Sorry about that!" An acknowledgment would've been nice, especially since we had to take her to the vet to get it looked at (she ended up getting knicked pretty good). Based on those things--the inconsistencies with the cut, her missing some key spots in the grooming (her nails, ears, toe pads), as well as the price (she's on the higher end)--I don't think I'll be coming back. But I do wish her the best and am grateful she got my dog cut right before the quarantine. read more
