I'm sorry, nowhere were prices posted and a sign says "cash only". I could respect that, but I got no receipt and it was imho outrageously priced. $20 per cat to trim claws, it takes less than 2 minutes, no exaggeration. That's a $600/hour rate. (The claws were trimmed well, I will say.). I understand there is overhead but this place has a small space print and not much in way of equipment. I know what my next bizness will be. On the plus side, the owner was friendly and the place has some charm. I have gone back through my records and looked at prices I've paid over the last two years in the competitive vicinity. $16 and $14. That is 30% less! They are the most affordable place around & they're SO friendly with me & most importantly with my dog. Fantastic staff! He always comes out so chipper with an extra pep in his step. Make sure to bring cash! Not just to pay but make sure you tip! They release your dog's analglands, it's the least you can do. My dog gets a "lion cut" where I have them keep his mane & bushy tail but cut the rest short, it always comes out perfect. So shiny & so clean! I took my dog here about a month ago for the first time. The service was nice and friendly, but whatever type of products they use did not work for my pup. She ended up getting flakes throughout her coat and was very greasy. She was constantly licking and scratching after this visit. She's finally back to normal after I took her to her regular groomers. We have had a bath for our 30 lb dog which included nails, ears, anal gland, etc - for about $55, which is 100% reasonable for a full service bath! You should call ahead to schedule the bath. We have also just taken her in for a quick walk in nails + anal gland and for both I believe it's $25 ish. I love that you can walk in and get these services done asap. They take cash or Zelle - I really appreciate being able to pay them direct with Zelle, great alternative for cash only businesses! They also seem to do everything right for COVID protocol. They only allow in one customer in their small-ish "lobby" area but the dog grooming area is still visible. They have lots of hand sanitizer out and often leave the front door open, which I love since I hate being inside a building with a closed door for one more minute than I need to! I was ten minutes late for my Labre doodle appointment and some of that time was because I couldn't find parking. I had to park in front of Occidental College. When I finally got to her shop. She gave me a dirty look and told me she was going to shave off my Labre doodle hair off. You don't shave off a labradoodle hair off at all especially close to winter. I rated this place a two because they did not file down my puppy's nails because "she was squirming too much". As a place that literally does grooming for dogs, shouldn't they know how to do their job and try to relax the dog? It was frustrating because they still charged me $20. If there was an issue with my puppy moving around too much they shouldn't have to charge me full price cause they did not finish the job. The nails are cut down but it looks rushed. It is what it is. This is just my experience and I was not satisfied. Also, I don't know why people look at pitbulls like they are vicious dogs when they are just as loving as any other dog that is trained well. They accept walk-ins but it's going to be a long wait time so it's best to do an appointment to have shorter wait time(they qouted me around 4 hours or more and I got my pup 5 hours later but that's not a big deal for me and if you have an appointment as far as I can remember it's gonna be 2 hours and maybe it depends on the amount of the customers they are having that day). They took her but they had absolutely no time to have her just said yes to get the business, kept her there for 8 HOURS and then just completely shaved her. Her fur is not for the faint of heart, although I brush her at home and condition her fur - she gets tangled! Moved in the area from Hancock Park and was looking for a new pet groomer for my pooches. I had a bad feeling when I came in but went for it anyways which was a week before Christmas 2017. I got a voicemail saying my dogs were ready and then another call a few minutes later saying: "they accidentally cut my dog'ear and it won't stop bleeding so I need to take him to the Vet right away." They made an attempt to do a follow up phone call but no attempts to follow up with vet reimbursement. I will come back to get the reimbursement tho since they offered they would. Was excited to have a self wash in the neighborhood. As a mama of 4 furry children, two of which are huskies, having a place to give them a bath nearby really is clutch. I've been here with my dramatic huskies on multiple occasions and the staff is friendly any beyond helpful. Recently came in with one of my older small dogs and again they were so sweet and helpful. This really is an amazing neighborhood spot and we are lucky to have them in the HP. Prices are great. They do specials during the week. And the place is always clean and tidy. Last review was about 3 months ago that I saw, but this place was awesome. They take walk-ins so no appointment needed if you don't have one, or you just need a last minute groom for your pups. Luckily someone canceled, so it only took a couple hours to get it done. I have a long haired dachshund that had a couple knots behind his ears. They took care of that, gave him a bath with an awesome smelling sprits and filed down his nails. All for only $65. The layout has been changed and only 1 self wash station is available which is by the open door without any air conditioning. For self wash, it is $15 for every 45 minutes. The inside area/remaining stations have been converted for a grooming business. Limited parking available in front of business. I arrived for the self wash and let staff know it was my first time here. They gave me a rundown of their amenities and confirmed their grooming table can be used. After a few minutes, another staff member kicked me out for giving my dog a haircut with my own scissors on their grooming table. They stated the grooming table is only used for blow drying and brushing dogs. I disappointedly packed up and left, but the first staff member chased me down and I let them know I was kicked out. They had to confirm with other staff before I was allowed to leave, but I am glad they did not charge me for the 5-10 minutes I was there. This business is not suitable for self grooming with only 1 station and restrictive rules. Their communication issues were the biggest letdown. read more

That was a bit concerning and now that I read the Yelp reviews, someone else mentioned it. In any event, I shrugged it off and left her there. When I picked her up, she was cute -- short hair with a puppy cut around the face. The only thing is that a couple days later, her skin became incredibly irritated. She keeps scratching and licking. The only way I can get her to stop is to put her into a shirt and to apply tons of coconut oil. To be fair, I called the shop and Joanna was kind and offered suggestions about how to fix the issue.
