Bacon Blue Burger

On a Saturday, summer drive, just relaxing on a mountain path, we entered Ramona on our journey. Feeling the need for a rest stop and a quick bite, we saw the sign for Up The Hill Grill and it just felt like the place to stop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple cozy interior and a peaceful outdoor patio, this place was perfect for our summer day pit stop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But then....the food came out...and OMG. Not to dismiss all the options, but the food we chose was BEYOND expectations. The fried avocado was perfectly battered, not too heavy, nice and creamy, so perfect. And then there were the burgers. Seems simple to order but WOW did they impress. The meat was dripping with juice, the topings fresh and crisp, the bacon was perfectly crunchy and the right chew. Oh and the beer battered fries! Can't even give this place enough words to describe how content and satisfied we were. And the people...sweet, attentive, casual and welcoming. If you're in the area, 100% swing by and give it a try!

I ordered the beer battered Fish which normally comes with chips but they're nice to offer substitution I got a salad with ranch dressing instead. Our server Faith is always checking on us. Another server named David was very accommodating as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean restrooms and they have a railroad miniature decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was good and portions were awesome! The burger even has the name of the restaurant. They also provide parking. Will definitely come back.

Little hole in the wall, we weren't expecting much but this turned out to be one of the better meals we've had! Tiny indoor dining area with lots to look at, they even have a car on the ceiling with working headlights. Menu was huge, burgers, salads, sandwiches and more! They have a great selection of appetizers as well, the fried green beans are a must try! It came with a really flavorful sauce that went perfectly well with it. The burger was a really great burger, exactly what someone would want. A downside my boyfriend did mention was the brand mark on the burger bun did make it have a burnt taste, but overall he still really enjoyed it. The turkey sandwich was incredible as well, and HUGE. The turkey was not deli meat it tasted like fresh cooked turkey, it was incredible. The fries were outstanding as well, and so was the ranch! Service was fantastic the entire time. Everything about this place was phenomenal, can't wait to come back!

My fiancé and I went here for his birthday and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I can't believe how great the service, the food, and the vibe was here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was amazing. She even told us about a special dessert that they're trying to get on the menu and had it made for his birthday. I really hope they get it (Mikki's Sweet Potato Funnel cake) on the menu. Overall it was an amazing experience and we will definitely be returning every time we're in town. I give this place 100/5 stars

The food is decent, it's not the best in Ramona but not the worst. Their burgers are great though. But I am not a fan of venturing off too much from burgers. This is Mac and Cheese w A very very small portion of brisket and take tots. I probably wouldn't order it again as it's not my style but wanted to change it up. Their beer menu isn't bad they have a decent selection for most people. The ambiance is diner-ish small inside but a patio w ample room. Service has always been great w a very friendly staff.

Everything was excellent jalapeño poppers sliders our standing service amazing....!!!!!!!!!!!!

My western burger, I love onion rings and the tots were light and crisp and hella good ranch

You might pass by this place or it seems unassuming BUT After a long day we decided to try this place after living here almost across the street for several months. We will be back for sure , it was a nice meal to end a day . The burgers hit the spot the sweet potato fries and the tots were crispy the burger was delicious and huge I took the other half home and devoured it the next day !! I'm sorry that I don't remember our waitresses name but she was so kind and helpful for our first time. ( she had glasses and a balloon apron, so shout out to her )

On our way to Three Sisters Falls, we stopped in to the Up The Hill Grill. We arrived at lunchtime and it wasn't too busy. We sat outside on the patio as the weather was perfect! We started with the Crazy Poppers. The BEST jalapeno poppers I've ever had! The bbq sauce added an edge to this dish. Although I wish they offered more for price. My nieces lobster bisque was tasty. I ordered the fried avocado with bacon cheeseburger sliders. They were delicious! I'd never had tried fried avocado, but I'm a fan now;) The burger was juicy and the toppings were fresh. Our server was friendly and checked on us often. I would recommend this spot if you are driving through Ramona.

I was out walking with a friend and walked past some people eating out on their patio and just had to come back and try it for myself!! Sooo delicious! We were really torn trying to decide on which burger to get but finally decided to share the Brisket stack burger with onion rings. It was plenty of food for both of us and their house made ranch was amazing!! Our server, Shannon was great too, super friendly. We will definitely be back!

That commitment to quality and sustainability is commendable and something more restaurants should strive for. The staff is knowledgeable, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant that cares about where its food comes from. Unfortunately, that attention to ingredient sourcing seems to stop when it comes to cooking oils. Many of the menu items are prepared with soybean oil, which was disappointing given the otherwise high-quality and health-conscious image of the restaurant. Soybean oil is highly processed and contains large amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. While omega-6 fats are essential in moderation, excessive consumption relative to omega-3 intake has been associated with increased inflammation in some research. Soybean oil is also more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to high cooking temperatures, potentially producing compounds that some studies suggest may contribute to oxidative stress. In addition, many health-conscious consumers actively avoid industrial seed oils such as soybean, corn, and canola oils in favor of alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, butter, or tallow. I would gladly give Marinade on Main a higher rating if they aligned their cooking oils with the same local, high-quality standards they apply to the rest of their ingredients. Switching to avocado oil or olive oil or beef talo would be a welcome improvement and would better match the restaurant's otherwise impressive commitment to quality. * also loose the standard strip of high fructose sodas and provide more natural optikns of drinks ...

I had heard great things about this place, which makes it even more disappointing. The only positive was the quaint country ambiance, including a nice old mural on the wall. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Sunday morning, so that's understandable and not part of my rating. The food, however, was inedible. I should note here that I came in quite hungry and with a specific hankering for a greasy chicken fried steak and eggs, so I was in a very easy to please state. I ordered the eggs "over medium," and the eggs came out with raw, runny whites and were also cold. The toast didn't arrive until 5-10 minutes later, so everything just sat there getting colder. The "steak" was mostly fat and gristle. The first couple of bites I ate were gristly but doable with help from the gravy - but the third bite was a giant glob of gristly fat that I couldn't even chew - i spit it out and that's all I ate. The hash browns tasted like frozen unseasoned potatoes with only a patch of sear on the outside while the bulk of it was mushy and pasty and gross. Of the whole meal I basically only ate my toast plus a bite or two of each thing on my plate. I left feeling sick to my stomach. After dropping off the food (and later the delayed toast), our server never checked back. No refills, no follow-up. When she finally returned, she asked to clear my very full, barely touched plate without any acknowledgment. I had to volunteer that the food was inedible. The response was dismissive and rushed, with no effort to understand the issue or make it right. An offhand "sorry about that" was offered while walking away, followed shortly by the $60 bill. The complete lack of accountability and concern was frankly abhorrent. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had, and I won't be back. I would have left hungry except that I was queasy from the gristle and paste.

Visually, it's a stunning cook--great muscle texture, a beautiful smoke ring, and a perfect bark. All the intense flavor and smoke live between the surface and that inner pink ring, so make sure your bite includes a bit of both. Man, what a delicious bite. I've been to that Michelin-recommended BBQ joint east of DTLA, and Pete's 100% blows it out of the water. This place makes California BBQ proud (that other spot is an embarrassment). I only wish they offered some zesty sides to pair with the meats to take it to the absolute next level! 1/3 lb Sausage: First bite delivers a perfect snap followed by great meat texture. Initially, you get hit with a slightly heavy saltiness, followed by a sharp, spicy goodness. I was on the fence after the very first bite, but the more you eat, the more the saltiness balances out. That snap, texture, spice, and salt combo just gets better and better until you realize you can't stop eating it. It is incredibly good. Pairing it with a creamy side perfectly complements the kick. Cornbread Upgrade: YES! The cornbread itself is delicious--excellent texture, great corn flavor, and a very mild sweetness. Plus, it comes with a honey butter blend that is next-level delicious. It was a very pleasant surprise just how good this was!
