Took the grandkids and wife here. Awesome food and service! Got pot roast and chicken dish. Grandkids had burgers, pasta, prime rib and French toast. My wife had the Upland breakfast with bacon and scrambled eggs with sausage and cheese, with pancakes on the side. She also had toast with extra butter and jam. And a fresh hot chocolate with whipped cream. Really good. Great crab cakes and scallops, which my daughter and her friend both had. Nice environment and clean. Great salads too. Desserts were delicious especially the apple pie and pudding brownies with whipped cream. Homemade! Great coffee and chocolate milk. My grandson ordered a second chocolate milk but couldn't drink it so I did. I had two cokes too - from the fountain! Love it here. No better diner. Spotless and welcoming bathrooms. Hi everyone!!!! The family visited Upland Diner on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019. We had dinner, we arrived around 3:30 pm. The hours here everyday are 6:30 Am to 9:00 Pm. There is ample parking here, many places to park. Inside the dining area is small, we didn't expect, judging from the parking lot. On busy days, this fills up pretty fast. On Sundays, it gets busy around 10am, because they are receiving folks from Sunday worship services and on Friday evenings around 5 pm, it usually is busy. Other than that, most other times are good. We lucked out and it was not busy. We arrived and we were shown to a table quickly and our server, Katie arrived swiftly to take our order. Katie was kind and sweet and met our every need. When we asked for extra napkins, more beverages and utensils, Katie complied. Mom ordered her favorite food, tilapia, with 2 sides of apple sauce and mashed potatoes. My bro ordered broiled flounder with sides of apple sauce and onion rings. I ordered stuffed shrimp with crabmeat with sides of sweet potato fries and apple sauce. Our beverages were lemonade, iced tea and coke. My mom and bro ordered from the Senior menu and had a choice of soup and salad. My mom selected shrimp bisque and my bro selected italian wedding soup. I selected stuffed potato skins as my appetizer. We enjoyed every morsel of our food. The senior tilapia was $9.99 and soda was $2.25. The senior flounder was $9.99 and lemonade was $2.30 and the onion ring side was $1.25. The stuffed shrimp was $15.85 and iced tea was $2.25. The stuffed potato skins were $6.99, but I received an upgrade of $3.00. Our total bill was $46.88 with sales tax of $2.82 and the grand total was $49.70. Since mom and bro ordered from the senior menu, they received a choice of dessert: rice pudding, tapioca pudding, ice cream or jello. My mom selected cherry jello and bro selected rice pudding. They had a choice of eating in or take out. They opted to eat dessert at the diner. My side hustle is driving for Lyft and I decided to visit Upland Diner because I dropped off a rider there. She was a server there, Christina. I saw her today and spoke hello to her. She remembered me as being her Lyft driver and when I dropped her off, I expressed an interest in dining there. She was nice and pleasant as were all of the employees there. Our family had a wonderful dining experience there and we will visit again. If you give respect, usually you will get it back. Nothing fancy on the outside, but clean and friendly inside. Hostess and waitress were attentive and friendly. Typical diner food, meaning a wide variety. I had pasta which was very good. Our table also had ham steak and the Mac and Cheese side was particularly nice. Good price, too. read more

For the area this place is ok. The staff is pretty friendly and attentive. The food is a typical Dinner kind of food. I usually get the Balcked Ceaser Salad which is pretty good. Once in a while I get a cup of soup. The one thing that trouble me is a Older gentlemean that seats there for hour during dinner time. It reminds me of the show "how to catch a predetor" . The menu selections are many, the amazing food and the prices are very reasonable. The wait staff is courteous and helpful. Was invited here by my dad who generally likes diner style food. I ordered the seafood combo, crab cake and scallops. The scallops where perfectly cooked and the crab cake was about 80% crab meat, not a ton of fillers like most places. I was impressed with the food. The owner personally served us and was very accommodating and friendly. When our meal took too long for my dad (he had limited time to eat due to an after dinner appointment) the owner gave us 50% off the bill and profusely apologized even though it wasn't his or the restaurants fault that my dad didn't budget enough time to eat. The owner is a really nice guy and truly cares about his customers. All he kept saying was "I want you to come back next time!" read more

We had the Upland Ultimate Burger which consists of two grilled ham and cheese sandwiches serving as the bun for a burger. Excessive...yes! Delicious...yes! We split the burger and ordered a side of chile- cheese fries. The sandwich/burger was awesome! The fries are really good. The chile had too much green pepper in it for my liking, but still had good flavor. Michelle was our waitress. She was very friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job. She joked and laughed with the regulars and treated us newbies just the same. Did a great job keeping my drink full. The cleanliness and atmosphere I'm going to lump together. The place is clean but a little tired looking. I was glad to see they went with bare bones decor instead of all the miscellaneous dust collectors that so often fill diners. This little un-assuming diner was a surprise find after trying to find new grub places after I moved. We went there for breakfast and had crab omelet and lox omelet. Boy did their omelet have crabs! It was full of juicy lump meat and claw meat. Just enough to make it enough without feeling over-filled. Potatoes were also cooked on the flat-top to a nice crisp. The hollandaise sauce wasn't too good. Tasted greasy, but didn't taste like butter. The jam also tasted off. Besides that, It's a surprisingly delicious place. Will definitely try again. read more

Great meal. I rolled up here twice after visiting a sick relative over at the hospital. Great breakfast values and a ton of food on the plate. There are a ton of cops that stop in there, and you know they know how to eat. The other funny thing was that I think the mayor was in there with a bunch of his council people the second time I stopped. (I know, I know.) All were good quality, hot and delicious. Service a 4 star out of 5 - but in her defense it was very busy. Place appears very clean. All the food is homemade. The locals go here to eat. That should tell you that this is a Great place for food. The restaurant is extremely clean, and the waiters and waitresses are very friendly. The price of the items on the menu are extremely reasonable. For a lunch or dinner for two, you will pay around $20.00. Breakfast is less. I loved their sirloin steak, most diner steaks are ok, or even bad,but these people have nailed their sirloin steak. Tender and juicy, it makes you drool to think about it. Their salads are amazing too. They are fancy,and fresh and rivals the salads of steak houses! Their eggs are ok, they're not rubbery,but the pan they cook them in is too small, I think. But their bacon is very good. Don't order their French onion soup,they don't use goyer cheese. It tastes like provolone. Great place to eat, and bring friends, and chat. Outside needs some TLC, but inside it's very homey, and comfortable. My mother uses a wheelchair and they always put us where she can watch her chair as she can sit in a booth. Sunday morning so not expecting to be seated fast, but it was obvious that we were not treated the same as the regulars. Service was slow, not very attentive. It's a diner. That said, it is a pretty good diner - and I'm from Jersey, we love diners. I hadn't eaten here in two years but recently found myself in the area so I stopped in. The place looked a little more haggard than my last visit but it was typical wear and tear. Portions are still a good size, sometimes providing a meal for the next day. Quality is very good for a diner and the staff is attentive. The only negative is the area - it's in a rough area of Upland bordering on Chester, Crozer-Chester Hospital is a block away. Decent little diner. We stopped here when avoiding horrific traffic on 95. It wasn't super expensive, and the food was ok. I don't have super high expectations for a diner, but it was fine. This diner is the best in the area. It has a cute little homey feel. The food was really good & the waitress was very nice and attentive. We went later in the evening so it wasn't crowded at all (our waitress had 4 tables including ours) and it took quite a while for our food to come out. Went here before a doctors appointment as it is close to crozer chester medical center. The food is outstanding. The soups are homemade. Salads fresh and the entrees delicious. We told the waitress we had to be out in time for the appointment and she rushed our orders. We have eaten here many times and they don't rush you at all so we were worried we might be late but she made sure we were served promptly. The local police eat here and we frequently see a police presence on our visits. So you know the food is always good. The senior menu prices start at age 55 another pleasant surprise. It's clean and pleasantly decorated and have adequate parking. Not one bad thing to say about this establishment. read more
