On February 18th 2026 me and my husband went to Denny's when we got there it was quite empty four tables haven't been bust there were two people working One came out the bathroom without washing his hands and a waiter didn't even look at us we had two other guys there waiting for they take out with her which was sitting there they had to get it theirselves I looked in the back The waiter slash cook was making food without gloves didn't even acknowledges I don't know from now on if I'm going to eat there or not because I emphasize he was not wearing gloves and he looked at me just rolled his eyes and so we left they need something they need help because this can go on I don't know if at times I went there that I got sick from people not wearing gloves or what I'm disgusted! read more

I visited this location on my first trip to the United States from Canada, and was very impressed with the service, especially in contrast to many of the Denny's locations I have visited in Canada! There wasn't a table available when I arrived, as it was early and I happened to arrive in the middle of the breakfast rush, but they were very prompt in seating me. The waitress was friendly and quick to come take my order, and I did not have to wait long at all for the food/drink. The lighting/temperature of inside the restaurant were quite pleasant, and the food was delicious! I get the Berry Stuffed French Toast frequently when I go to Denny's, and it certainly did not disappoint. The staff were young and hard working, with excellent problem solving skills from what I had observed, I was happy to leave them a good tip, especially with the always reasonable Denny's pricing. I was in your establishment yesterday and i had a greatest service that i have ever gotten at a Denny's. When i came in i was automatically greeted by who i am assuming is the manager or the GM and she was so polite and took me over to the table and she as so kind and patient as my mother with a cane was lagging behind and she did not hurry us but was very patient while she got to the table. She got us all something to drink and told me that my server would be right over. Then a nice polite young lady named hope came over and offered us appetizers and entrees and she was so quick. Her service is outstanding and she is so personable with her guests. They were so busy at the time and still made time to talk to us old folks about our day, you don't quite see that anymore and i just want to say you guys have great people that work here and have a great place here and it is so clean. Grew up on Denny's and usually love it. The food here was gross. The eggs were drowned in butter or grease. I had cups still dirty. I asked for a water 3 times. This place is in desperate need of a health department inspection. The glasses and silverware were dirty. I could see that they were only hand washed, not in a dishwasher. The bathroom was disgusting, I almost threw up. If they cant keep the bathroom clean that is visible for the customers I don't want to know how they keep the kitchen or how they handle the food. The food was so bad. I couldn't eat anything. I paid them and didn't make a big deal because I understand that it's not the waiter's fault. He looks busy and stressed out . Was here a couple of days ago while in town for Temples graduation. Pretty nice establishment that could use some help with employees, but other than that, it was fine. When my family and I first entered, we were met by a lady at the front desk who told us she would be with us in a moment and then disappeared. One waitress seemed to stay in 1 section to the right of the entrance with a couple she was waiting on and never seemed to leave their table even to help people who were waiting to be seated. I have 2 admit that if it wasn't for "Batman," this review probably would be a 2 or 3 Star. This man was super positive and seemed to be (other than the lady still standing talking to the couple on the other side of the restaurant) the only person waiting on and serving the whole place while occasionally u would see the original lady who greeted us when we entered pop in and out from the back. "Batman" seated us, asked our orders, and then brought our drinks. The wait to eat seemed a bit long, but if the kitchen employees were like the others, "Batman" excluded, I could see why. Food was cooked, ok, nothing to write home about, but you really can't mess up eggs, bacon, pancakes, and waffles. Well ok you can mess up waffles, and unfortunately, they did. Waffles came out solid as a rock. Couldn't cut them with a fork or knife. "Batman" was quick to fix the problem and replaced the waffles while apologizing. I definitely have to say that this Dennys probably would be in ALOT of trouble if it wasn't for "Batman". And the other "servers" if that's who they are or what theyre suppose to be doing need to either take notes, or do their jobs and not sit back and make "Batman" do everything. "Batman" keep doing your thing. Maybe find some new employees to help you so you're not the only one serving every table. This is by far my FAVORITE Denny's in the Philly area. Me and hubby had found this diner back in our high school days. Good memories.... This Denny's is surrounded by motels and hotels so parking is never a issue. It is also 24/7, say if you are craving breakfast food at 3am in the morning, Denny's of Essington is your best bet. We have never experienced bad service at this Denny's since 2010. Services are always polite and prompt. We were craving for Denny's and since we were in the area, we decided to revisit this location. We ordered Birthday pancake(kids menu), choconana pancakes, value slam, unlimited pancakes, and tropical green smoothie. We completed our meal with strawberry crepes. My cousin and I stayed in the area for one night to attend a friend's birthday party. On our back to NYC we stopped here for breakfast since it was right next to our hotel. When we arrived it was crowded but not packed. However, when we left there was a long line waiting for people to be seated. Denny's can always be a hit or miss for me so I usually try and keep it safe and simple. I ordered the special with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon and was satisfied and full with my meal. My poor cousin tried to be fancy with the loaded breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns. She said her sandwich was ok but those hashbrowns were overcooked and inedible. We spoke to the server who was very cool and the manager came to our booth and apologized. She deducted from our bill and we were fine. I will still hit up a Denny's and keep it simple. read more

Denny's business model is fairly consistent with every store. The service and meals are normally pretty good. This location is terrible!!!!! First of all the service is awful. Where is everyone? It takes forever for someone to take your order and takes forever for customers to receive their meal. The interior is dingy and dirty. Very very GHETTO!!!! Maybe it's the location. That area seems to be very seedy. How do you go wrong with eggs, bacon, and pancakes? Well, this place can't seem to get it right. This location needs a total overhall. All failures come down to management. If Denny's want to salvage this location, then hire a real manager, hire real cooks, and hire real servers with very clearly defined expectations with regards to performance. Wasn't sure about ordering a steak at Denny's... but it was actually pretty good! The garlic peppercorn butter made it. But that's not the reason I'm writing the review. My waitress, Deray, was wonderful and I wanted to give her a review. She was incredibly nice to me, didn't keep me waiting at all, and was very pleasant overall.
