My Best friend had a baby on Saturday January 1st. I am located in Bakersfield, Ca. and needed to make an online order and delivery to a hospital in Upland, Ca. I am always apprehensive about flower shops and have had previous bad experiences with choosing from a picture that is hardly represented by the actual product. I immediately went to Yelp for help... Haha. My first inclination was to look up actual photographs and when I came upon this sight, they had a number of actual pictures of their products. I can't speak for the boutiques that look like they were graphically designed. I made a purchase online through Yelp and sent for delivery right away. It's not every day our significant other send us flowers right?! Especially just because flowers. Nothing ruins a surprise like getting a call from the florist to inform you that you're receiving a special delivery and they want to verify your address. I called in a few mins ago to let them know how disappointed I feel towards this. She (Sherryl manager) said she was sorry but that's doesn't make things better. They ruined a surprise. Instead of getting a call from the receptionist to go see her and try to figure out why? Now when receptionist called, I already knew I was getting flowers. What a sad experience----This is a copy of my email reply attached to my billing receipt that had been paid... after I made a phone call that was not returned until almost 4 days later..... Hello, I am prefacing this email with, I, very very seldom ever communicate or feel this way with businesses. I am sure you have received the voicemail I sent yesterday immediately after my visitation to the home by now. I do want you to know how embarrassed I was with the plant you delivered and how embarrassed you should be, also. Pitiful! It looked like a $20. Palm from Home Depot plunked in a pot with 5 or 6 old leftover daisy stems stuck in the dirt! That arrangement should have been sent with deepest sympathies to our friends' family for $108.00. If that was your representation of such, you may wish to look for some assistance for your business. I understand with Valentine's Day in the midst that this was not a convenient time for you to have to do a sympathy recognition. However it was not also the time we wished to experience the loss of our friend. Please contact me for any further discussion, even though at this point this could not be emotionally rectified. Sent this one 2 days later..... I am very disappointed you have not contacted me in reference to my order. Today, I received a phone call from the owner and she stated she could go to my friends home and retrieve the plant for a refund, or give me a $25 credit for another order. I told her, How ridiculous, I would send them to pick up a plant from the HOME THAT WAS SENT IN MEMORY FOR A FUNERAL, OR I would trust THEM with another order for a special occasion? I think not. I will chalk this up for an experience in life and trust and WILL to share with all of my friends NOT to do business with this florist. I picked Upland Flower Boutique for it's great Yelp reviews when choosing a florist for my mother-in-law's Mother's Day delivery. The bouquet we selected off their website was bright, cheerful and filled with beautiful blooms (pic of what we thought was being delivered). What was delivered (see photo) was disgraceful and ugly. It is clear they took the cheap way out when putting together this bouquet by only using a couple roses and then the rest was filler flowers that don't even match the color scheme! I'm so embarrassed that this is what my mother-in-law received for Mother's Day, and especially angry and disappointed that this is what Upland Flower's considers quality work and an upgraded bouquet. read more

Wife had major surgery at the hospital nearby. I walked to old town Upland for lunch and planned to find a florist nearby but my phone ran out of juice. Luckily a homeless lady knew the exact place... Upland Flower Boutique! I was originally going to buy flowers at the hospital but they looked in poor shape and the price point wasnt very good. In my humble opinion...The Epitome of POOR Customer Service, BUYER BEWARE!!! Don't let the 3 stars fool you! This business doesn't deserve any stars from their service to us!! Someone stated that business owners can delete reviews off Yelp that have less than 3 stars so I am testing his theory!!! (Funny how the day after I first posted this, my review was deleted. Also, they say they refunded our payment but AmEx says no, as of today! 2/17/17) Here is a picture of the surprise flowers that were delivered to me for my Valentine's Day Gift from my husband....oops, no pic, because NOTHING WAS EVER DELIVERED!!! Even though my husband chose to use them because of their great reviews on Yelp!!!! They over promise and literally UNDER DELIVER!!!! AND as of the writing of this review(6:07pm 2/15/17) we still have not been credited back the $178.20 to our AmEx that was pre-paid for the flowers! Shortish Version: My husband pre-ordered flowers for me, to be delivered as a surprise to my home, on Valentines Day. Florist GUARANTEED delivery by 5:00pm because we had to make our dinner reservations. At 5:30 the florist called my husband's phone and insisted on talking to me. I took the phone and the woman on the other end (I think she said Linda) proceeded to ask me if I was still at my office(????). I told her I was home and she verified that the address she had was my home. She told me that I could expect my flowers to be delivered to me within the hour. (So much for the surprise). 6:30 comes and goes and still no delivery. My husband calls the flower shop and she said their drivers were still out so mine hadn't even left the shop for delivery yet. She asked if he wanted to have them delivered to the restaurant!!!!! REALLY!! He said no and she asked what he wanted her to do...OMG!! He said credit me for the flowers and deliver them tomorrow since you ruined my wife's Valentine's Day gift. Her response "I cant give you the flowers for FREE"!! Wow, what stunning customer service...NOT!! This truly appears to be a company that DOES NOT CARE about their customers or their integrity!!!! Five Star Plus! Sheryl demonstrated the epitome of customer service and the arrangement was breathtakingly beautiful!!! THANK YOU, SHERYL FOR CARING! Having been disappointed time and again with the big name online florists, I now search for local florists and order directly from them. Selected Upland Flowers based on Yelp reviews and ordered an arrangement from them on their website. Within hours, I received an email notice of delivery. Soon after, I received a phone call from Sheryl to make sure the delivery would go perfectly. Rather than simply leaving the arrangement, she wanted to make sure it was safe to porch it and then as it turns out, the recipient address did not designate which unit (of a 4-plex). She took the time to call me and the recipient and we spoke several times, even though it was closing time and a very busy Mother's Day week. Her delivery person had gone twice to the address, yet she remained calm and patient, despite my panic. When we finally sorted it all out, it was after hours and her delivery person had gone home. I agreed on a next day delivery because the delay was certainly not her fault at all. Instead, when Sheryl realized that my friend was at home, she offered to personally deliver the arrangement on her way home!!! Now that's incredible customer service! She made my day and made it a very special Mother's Day for my friend! Thank you again Sheryl for going over and beyond! read more
