I order the medium half cheese-half meatlovers, light sauce, pizza with a side of ranch. Everything we have EVER ordered is delicious! The owner is very nice and goes to the same dentist as my mom! This might sound strange, but I can totally tell a difference between the two locations and we normally like this location more than the Oceanside one (even though we live a few blocks from the Oside location). Something about the dough or the cheese or the ovens is just better here... Tonight was the first time we got a pizza to go (we wanted to watch the Michigan playoff football game at home) and we were SO disappointed. We ordered a large cheese pizza with light sauce (easy order) and when the hubby got it home, we opened the box and were so sad! Like I said, we normally like the pizza from here, but the pizza was burnt AND cold (not even sure how that can happen). I think we will stick to eating in (but will probably wait a while before returning... hoping they were just having an "off" night, but it's still hard to get less-than-stellar food and want to go back and spend hard earned money). Generally, I am not a big pizza eater but when I get pizza, this is the place. It is consistent, the sauce is perfectly spiced, the toppings are fresh, the crust is traditional, with just the right amount of chewiness and crunch. I almost always get a half and half salad too. Something about the pasta salad and green salad is just magical. Definitely need to try this when you come in. Wash this down with one of their ice cold beers on draft and I could not be a more happy camper. I think this is the only time we have been disappointed with our food. We had called the order in & when it was picked up one of the pizzas was missing a topping on half of it. The customer service is great, even when the staff was busy and the restaurant was packed they took time with each guest in a non rushed manner. A year later and this place still does not disappoint. I called in an order for pick up and was immediately attended. Although it was while the SuperBowl was on, they attended to me right away. They told me my order would be ready in 15 min. When I got there about 20 min later, everything was ready and piping hot. I came here for an employee Holiday party which was excellent because I didn't think they would allow that many people in one party. We sat in the way back because it was big enough to accommodate so many people. The staff was great and we didn't want to overwhelm them so we took our time ordering. The food was damn good and the prices were very fair. The menu was great because you could order personal pizzas. We finally found a great spot for pizza after our former go-to spot closed a few years ago. It is odd that it took so long to find this place when it was hiding in plain sight, in a strip mall we go to quite often. So, it really doesn't look like much from the outside and if you aren't looking for it you will probably miss it (like we did). From the outside it looks like a small hole in the wall, but inside there is a surprising amount of space. They have a good size dining room with a real pizza joint ambiance. There is an arcade off to the side in an alcove so the noise from the games isn't overwhelming. So far we have only had the pizza and it was great. The sauce was nicely seasoned (not sweet tomato sauce) and the italian sausage also had a delicious earthy seasoning going on. Upper Crust Pizza has been in the Vista community for years. This resturant has supported and sponsored many different sports teams and high school programs. When my daughter was in Vista High Regimental Marching Band, the resturant would stay open later than normal for all the band members and family's to eat after the game and review the bands performance on the big TV screen. You place your order at the front window and take a table. They bring the food out to you. The plates, silverware, napkins, salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes are on shelves on both side of the resturant. You help your self. They give you beverage cups and you feel and refill your drinks. Their food is wonderful too! With a selection of pasta's, salads, subs and of coarse Pizzas!! All items are excellent! We have been coming for years! What we have really come to appreciate is the Monday and Tuesday night specials. Monday night is a generous serving os Spaghetti with marinara or meat sauce and a very generous side salad with garlic bread for $9.99. Tuesday night is a meat Lasagna with a generous side salad and garlic bread also for $9.99. They both are excellent value for the money. Very generous and filling, and delicious to boot. I know they have a family meal deal that is also a great value and makes bringing a family affordable. I have never found their bathrooms to be messy. Always well stocked and clean. So disappointing when you can't wait for your favorite pizza and it's made wrong. I have loved the Pizza Lite. Less of everything. Thin crust with half the cheese and veggies. I know, not most peoples idea of pizza but we like what we like. So anxious to dig into my medium pizza lite tonight only to find out it was made with the regular dough and it more than a teaspoon of cheese. This review is for their chicken wings only!! All of their other food is really delicious!!! So I just ordered 12 wings and they were the worst wings I've ever had in my life!! I'm not even exaggerating. They taste like they were boiled and then a little bit of sauce was thrown on top of them. The chicken wing had no crust, they were literally sauceless when they were supposed to be a mild sauce. The texture of the wing was soft, sticky and gooey like I said earlier.. like they were boiled or something. Maybe they were thrown in the oven after being boiled but like I said those are some of the worst wings ever. Me and my wife ate three wings each because we were hungry but we threw away the other six. This is a staple in Vista. I feel I am biased to the food because when I walk in it brings me back to when I was a little girl and we would come after my brothers little league games. I like their pizza and salads. Simple but delicious. This was our first visit here and only came here bc our kids wanted pizza and we are staying over at Welk resort. We got a anti salad which was prob the best thing from to nights dinner. We ordered a large meat lovers.. holy hellllll this pizza was so heavy not from the meat but from the dough !!! I've tried and tried to give this location an honest attempt to write their wrong. However three strikes and I'm gone now. First time was about a couple years ago and there was a hair inside my pizza that I show them and they quickly just gave me my money back with no apology just a "here" type attitude. The next two times which was recently this year in the last 60 days - one time the pepperoni pizza was so greasy and oily the box was dripping outside. The top of the pizza was just lined with it as well. The second time the BBQ chicken pizza had pizza sauce and BBQ sauce mixed together? It should only be BBQ sauce and the chick was like in crumbs and tasted old. The onions were just lumped in the center of the pizza not spread out. Felt like someone just throw stuff down and threw it in the oven. My honest opinion is do yourself a favor drive about 5 mins up the road to the Oceanside location that is not associated with this one.
