I should've reviewed this company over two years ago when they installed my HVAC, but I didn't, and after my second experience with them, it's definitely necessary. I purchased my home a little over two years ago, knowing the HVAC system would soon need replaced. It happened to go out completely the week I moved in, during the first heat wave of the year, fun stuff! I had four different companies come out and provide quotes; Matt with Upton air beat them all -- by a long shot! He quickly made the arrangements to come do all the work -- scheduling a crane, etc. He communicated very well, was polite, and professional. I have been very satisfied with my new unit. It's very quiet and has done an excellent job heating and cooling my home these last two years. It recently started making an odd noise, so I reached out to them and got a service call scheduled. Unfortunately before they were able to come out, the AC stopped working -- during another epic heatwave -- gotta love CA! Matt came out again for my service call and quickly diagnosed the issue, which thankfully is covered by the manufacturers warranty. However, the part will take 10-14 days to arrive. I was dreading another two weeks without AC, but Matt kindly offered to loan me a portable unit to get me through. In addition, he also offered to waive the labor costs of installation for the new part. What company, especially in this industry, waives labor costs & service call charges?! I'm not promising he'll waive your labor costs/services charges, but I can assure you he's not in business to capitalize off others. There are many different options in this industry, most of which have reputations of ripping people off. Have been dealing with this company for a couple of years. They did service and repairs on our 20 year old heating and air conditioning system and were always timely, friendly and professional. So when we decided it was time for an upgrade to a more efficient unit, naturally we called them. Today was the final appointment to finish the installation and we are very pleased. We got a new filter system for the new unit because of my wife's asthma and the difference is noticable. Well worth the expense for her breathing and for the power savings the new unit gave us. We would recommend Upton Air for all your heating and air conditioning needs. AND, they also are starting offering home generators in case you are part of the PG&E grid with rolling power blackouts. Matt came to my home to try and fix my heat. I have an old unit so I knew it would be difficult. He found the problem and started calling suppliers to find the part. He was able to find the part and drove to Stockton to get it. When he installed the part, the unit would not stay on. I told him I would pay for what he had done so far and asked for an estimate for a new unit. He told me no that he really wanted to get unit working. After trying a couple of more things the unit stayed on. He also checked the house for carbon monoxide and recommended that I get a carbon monoxide alarm. I will be using Matt and Upton Air again. Matt was very professional and concerned about my safety. He worked on my unit for over 3 hours. Great customer service. read more

Matt is the MAN !!! So we wanted to cool our under ground wine cellar. We suggested a mini split system and other somewhat pricey solutions. Matt came out, took photos, assessed and said he'd get back to us in a couple of days. He did. He told us he had a solution for the room and could do an install for 1/3 the price and that it would be clearly as efficient if not more....... HUH???? Now I am not saying this is the case with every customer or for every situation ---but if its possible; its Matt! So, he came out with a new unit, did the install, electric work, perfect clean up and all is amazing. The work I suggested would have taken 3 days and Matt's solution took about 3 hours. Do not use this company, the only positive thing I can say is that the owner was very polite. I had them replace all my duct work on 06/27/22 for a cost of $3600.00. I got a text from one of the workers letting me know his ladder slipped and did damage on one wall. When I returned home after the installation there was debris everywhere that came out of the vents, and I mean everywhere. I then crawled up to look into the attic and immediately saw exposed ductwork that had insulation ripped off due to their installation of the straps. I also noticed a area of ducting that was not even replaced. I called the owner, Matt and he did offer for a cleaning company to come out but we had already been cleaning up the mess due to the fact that we had no other option. Matt also said he told his technician to tie into the existing duct as it was to low for him to get to. If that's the case then why am I paying for all duct to be changed out if they were only going to to change most of it. The company ultimately came out the next day to "fix" everything. They put some Stucco on the wall and supposedly fixed all the issues in the attic. If I hadn't have looked in the attic to check their work I would have never known that it wasn't much better than what they took out. They even used the old straps until they came out the second time. Never once did they offer any kind of discount for the inconvenience or mess. Today I checked my a/c to make sure there was no leaks. I found a huge handful of insulation that was in there from the installation, picture will be attached if I can. Our AC decided to break down in the middle of the summer so we needed someone over here PRONTO! We called Matt on a friend's recommendation and he was over here about an hour later. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and even though the part we needed was not something standard (larger than average fan motor if I recall correctly) he was able to get things all fixed up within a couple of hours. Both Matt and his employee helped us out when my in-laws module on the blower motor burned out. Due to a severe health issue it was imperative that we get the unit repaired quickly. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes for another HVAC company (think "ding" brothers) to answer, I got on Yelp and found Upton Air. I called Matt and he quickly arranged to have his tech come over within 2 hours and troubleshoot the problem.
