My experience with this leasing office was a complete nightmare. From unrealistic move-in dates, misinformation, not returning phone calls or emails, to the buffoonery with which our documents were being processed..I think I have PTSD after dealing with this staff. Visited Level 21 as part of a promotion from another apartment complex (providence row) and the views are phenomenal.

A few days ago the shelf in my closet fell off the wall, leaving my closet in clutter chaos. Within a few hours of me reporting this to Concierge, Manny, from the maintenance crew was at my apt to review the damage and assess the needs to repair. He and his team came Monday morning, while I was at work, and by the time I got home Monday night the entire shelf was repaired. A project that I anticipated taking 2-3 days was wrapped up in one. On top of their immediate attention, they even took the courtesy of vacuuming my closet floor and walkway where their crew had been - WOW! read more

I can't recommend this place enough. Brand new building, staff goes above and beyond and they're so accommodating (Mario and Desmond are both so amazing and helpful and made the move-in process so smooth. They're on top of everything). Maintenance requests are completed very quickly and the maintenance staff is so kind. The apartment itself is absolutely perfect - the floorpan was so well designed, all of the appliances are top quality and I haven't heard any noise from any of my neighbors at all. Floor to ceiling windows provide so much light, and the dimmers in every room are such a nice touch. Tons of kitchen counter space, barn doors, and I have enough room for a sectional and a 4-person dining table. There's also a mud-room area and shelving when you walk in, so you aren't cramped at all. Very reasonably priced as well. One other thing I love is that it's just a 3 minute walk to Whole Foods, a 30 second drive to get on the highway and it is never difficult to get out of the parking garage, even during rush hour traffic. Even though it's still under construction, I don't find it to be an inconvenience at all, and they're making so much progress daily. Excited to see it all finished because the amenities will be the best in Charlotte. They've thought of everything. I could ramble on, but bottom line is I would recommend this to anyone looking to move uptown. read more

PLEASE fix the elliptical and the peloton bike in the Mid-rise gym. It's been broken for weeks. Also some of the stairway doors don't work.

It's okay. Elevators are always down. Lots of noise in parking lot. Not really near anything like bars or restaurants. Amenities are ok

Take your time and look elsewhere. We have lived here for about 2 years and it has gone down hill majorly. The recent shooting and armed robbery, drug problems, cars being broke into/ vandalized, lack of security, some sketchy residents employed in illegal activities. Getting anything repaired is basically unheard of. Animals urinate and relive themselves all over the halls and elevators constantly. Some residents let their pets live on their balcony's so you hear constant barking and smell animal feces. The amenities are always broken or unavailable. The leasing office is dishonest so please pay very close attention to every word in everything you sign or agree to. They try to change dollar amounts or durations without you noticing and claim it was just a mistake. They are hurting for money during these times and try to fine you in any way they can or overcharge if you don't notice. The more affluent residents are flocking away which is leading to some possible financial cash flow issues over time which will be placed on the residents to make up. Unfortunately we won't be returning. read more

I'm a current resident with my wife. I'm fed up with a list of things that have gone wrong during our stay here at Uptown 550. It was my wife's idea to come here she really wanted me to experience what she thought would be a luxury city living here at uptown 550. However, I expressed to her the amount we are spending for this apartment is for a luxury hi-rise but we are living in an apartment that is not worth the amount we are being charged let alone the quality of the craftsmanship. The  list of issues goes on and on. -Shower vales were reverse hot was cold and cold was hot. They came and corrected the problem but now the shower knob comes right off. -All the outlets were not working - Cabinet knob fell off in the kitchen on day 2 of being here -Master bathroom light over the sink blinks off and on at will and was to be replaced never done - Basement door key fob has not been working for at least 3-weeks now -Roll up gates stay open for 15-20 seconds way longer then it should, allowing other cars to follow -Outside deck windows still have not been cleaned when it says window cleaning takes place twice a year -Dyer sheet still in vent located in the kitchen -Unit door slams shut and you can hear the neighbors coming and going -Walls are very thin can hear the conversation next door and a dog  playing with a ball at late hours of the night - Security Camera hanging from the ceiling in the basement -No Security cameras in the garage. Motorcycle was vandalized on the main level steps from the front entrance -No dedicated security staff on site -No dedicated cleaning staff on-site to keep elevators cleaned and sanitized -Office staff high turnover Moved in and was given the wrong mailbox key had to wait several weeks and finally, the staff gave me the master key to my box -Elevators constantly down and there's only 2 for the high rise and if someone is moving in or out so only one elevator for 21 floors Concierge are spread thin and you have a long wait time to get packages or other requests -Still have not gotten a property tour to know where everything is located - Amenities always breaking down, sauna, hot tub wired wrong, golf simulator The carpet never got changed even after they clean it a few times you can still see the stained spots of urine substance from prior tenants -Washer and Dryer are very loud when in use -Closet had to be adjusted because a normal size person clothes would drag on the floor -Master bedroom fan still has not been replaced even after being looked at by maintenance -Limited parking for guests so they tag behind a tenant and park in the garage making it difficult to find parking Wine refrigerator condensation sets up inside the glass where we can't look through only to have to open the door. What I do know is that uptown 550 is not the place for us. read more

After living at Uptown 550 for a little over a year, the only good thing I can say about this place is their concierge staff. In the first two weeks of living at Uptown, my car was broken into while parked in the garage along with a dozen others. There was a shooting in the building (photos included are of the crime scene I stumbled upon in the lobby). There was also a robbery in the building. There were multiple fights at the pool where police had to be called. They even had a prostitute at the pool, dressed in a Victoria's Secret thong who was pulling men into the public bathroom. The dog park was always littered with food, garbage, and even vomit from the balconies above. Regardless of how many times residents complained, nothing was ever done about it. We had stuff thrown on our balcony from other residents and nothing was done about that either. When we moved out, we never received a final statement or details about our security deposit. Instead, Uptown 550 immediately sent it to collections. We paid nearly $3,000 a month for 13 months and they send us to collections for a $236 bill and took our $300 deposit. When I contacted Uptown 550 to express how upset I was, they finally emailed the bill statement and said we could pay immediately to clear it up. However, they charged $335 for cleaning charges when we moved into a dirty apartment to begin with. And an additional $100 for not having renter's insurance when we did. I provided proof, and they said it was too late because the charge was already added to the account. Weird, we had to put up with violence, theft, car break ins, shootings, vandalism, and more, but removing an incorrect charge is too much for them to deal with. I was also pushed off the phone when I tried to discuss and get further information. I was told they'd email me after discussing with management, but they never did and my follow-up emails have been ignored. I would highly advise against renting from Uptown 550. read more

I have been a resident for 2 months at Uptown 550 and couldn't be more pleased with my experience thus far! Being a Charlotte native, living in multiple communities around the area, and having just moved back after 2 years of renting in San Francisco, I can confidently say that living here is a treat! The quality of the interiors is a step above many other rental options in uptown Charlotte. Being a new building, there were a few minor maintenance items early on that were addressed quickly and precisely. With outstanding amenities to offer, the staff has done an incredible job at providing resident events that are creating a true sense of community among residents. They have offered free weekly small group fitness classes, botox and spa facials, trivia nights, and cookouts. Mario, Desmond, Engrid, Erica & Gamal have been ultra available and accommodating. It's never easy to keep residents happy when you are supporting a property that is still partially under construction, but the leasing and maintenance staff are handling it beautifully and creating a community experience anyone would want to be a part of! Came to tour with my sister and was not able to because I left my ID in my car (which I had parked at my sisters house). Was a little frustrated due to the fact that I had my 7 month baby with me (If you're a parent you understand the hassle) but we understood the policy and decided to go back and grab my ID anyway (20 minutes away). We got back about 45 minutes later and because I had grabbed the ID that was expired (I have 2 ID's) Marissa informed us that I would still not be able to view the apartment. I thought this was completely ridiculous due to the fact that 1) it was still a government issued ID and 2) I was just viewing the apartment. Marissa was not sympathetic at all to the fact that we had done all of that back and forth driving WITH a baby just to not be able to view the apartment. I asked to speak to a manager whom she said was not there. I also asked for corporates information and she told me she doesn't have it. I have worked for multiple property management companies and have never heard of such a thing. What type of company doesn't allow you to contact their corporate office when you have an issue? I am so upset with the service and the fact that I wasted 2 hours out of my day for nothing. read more

We have lived here for almost 4 months and one thing that is consistent, is the Conceirge staffs professionalism and always taking that extra step to help in anyway. I had ordered a rug that weighed over 50 lb and Guy (one of the Conceirge staff members) brought it up to our apartment in the middle of the night (secured building). We are in the mid-rise, so this would haven been a challenging task for us. Kenya, another Concierge staff member, took an extra step trying to locate a package for us that was delivered. After her researching and keeping me informed, I realized my mistake as it was delivered via postal service and was in our mailbox. Carla & Lance always have a smile on their face as they greet you in the lobby. Desmond in the Leasing Department is awesome! We worked with a newer Leasing associate , who was still in the learning process, but Desmond helped us whenever the new person wasn't able to. The apartment itself is nice as well as the amenities and the social gatherings that are set up. The property is well maintained, the Maintenance staff is great! I constantly see Juan cleaning up around the property (I work from home) and any work orders are fixed almost immediately. I feel the Property Management could do a few things differently, but this is a newer property and they may be going through growing pains. read more
