Just like any other thrift store, you have to hunt for pieces of clothing you like. Unlike any other thrift store I've been to, a majority of the clothing is in very good shape and priced fairly. I find at least one great thing every time I go. I always find 10 good things, but have to narrow it down to what fits (lol). Although not a vintage store, I've found great vintage clothing here the past two times I've come. They also have a point system where you earn points for shopping. I racked up a mere 45 points and was able to use them for a 20% discount! Not bad at all! read more

Love love love this store. Always find the best pieces. GREETED IMMEDIATELY and I LOVE THAT. The in store energy is fun so waiting for my clothes to be appraised wasn't a grueling process. The buyers were super kind and patient. Very helpful when I had questions about certain pieces and they proved to be knowledgeable. The store was a well oiled machine with customers needs all taken care of. I commend this location being the only one in central Austin they see A TON of people and they hold the place down really well. I'll be back for sure and I'm sure I'm going to find my new favorite pieces. Id say it's one of the TOP 10 AUSTIN THRIFT stores. That's coming from a born and raised Austinite. Called ahead to ask if they were still accepting people for the day at 5pm, was told they were accepting things until 7pm, drove 20 minutes there and lugged 2 boxes and 5 bags for them to tell me they would only take a portion of what I had and failed to mention over the phone. Complete waste of time + rude staff. Won't be back. read more

Three of the staff members were not knowledgeable about the donation and receipt process. I gave them circa 2006 clothing to donate and asked for a receipt. They gave me a paper document saying "contributor's donation receipt", yet staff members kept insisting that I still needed to go online to donatestuff.com to get a receipt. I'm confused. The form said to go online to schedule a pick up. Why would I schedule a pick up when I gave Uptown Cheapskate the item to be donated? Why would donatestuff.com come over to my house and sign my receipt when Uptown Cheapskate has my donated clothing? We went online and there's no where it says to get a receipt, just pick up. All I needed was a receipt. Yet two of the staff members kept insisting that the form they just gave me wasn't a receipt, just information on how to obtain a receipt online. Then one staff member said it didn't matter anyway because I can't itemize unless I have $5000 worth to donate. We looked up tax laws and that $5000 only refers to a different form requiring an appraisal. Turbo Tax automatically selects the form for me based on the amount. How would she know how much my husband and I donate to non profit organizations and used Goodwill donations, and include medical deductions to qualify for a non standard deduction? She wouldn't. I just wanted a receipt and two of the staff members kept insisting I needed to go online to get a receipt. They didn't know that the form they just gave me was a receipt. Staff at minimum should be trained to read, "contributor's donation receipt"; it's not an informational pamphlet on how to obtain a receipt online unless you return the item for pickup. I asked to speak to one of the owners but they weren't available. read more

Do not sell your items here. They are dishonest crooks, the lot of them! On more than one occasion, the buyer "forgot" to give me back multiple items that were priced and left on the counter behind her. On one occasion, I opted to donate the pieces they did not want to buy only to find the "donated" items for sale the following week. I asked to speak to the manager and the associate gave me their number. The sent me a string of multi-paragraph, ridiculing texts after I explained the situation. Ultimately, the manager called me a liar. read more

I brought in multiple bags (Sperrys, Levi, Hurley, Dockers, etc) and it was done within 25 minutes. There was a long line ahead of me when I checked in. They took TWO items! I know they didn't even go through all the bags because I accidentally double knotted it and it was not undone. They also didn't give me back a bag and I had to ask for it, as it was pushed away on a shelf! I looked around while waiting and I saw nothing cute! There weren't any shoes and I brought in a basket full of never worn, definitely in style, heels! Highly disappointed. read more

I waited over an hour to get a bag of items "appraised." This is on a friday, at 1p, not very busy, with the staff outnumbering the customers. There were 3 other frustrated customers sitting next to me that I saw within that period wondering what the heck was going on. Most of their stuff for sale is overpriced junk that you could find at Ross or TJ Max for less than what they're selling for used. $18 later, I took my cash on the 3 items they offered to buy. i recently went to this store to sell, waited outside in the heat for 30 minutes and once inside, i was second in line but i heard them calling 2 or three other people before me. i went to the counter and asked and was told that the others "didn't have that much". No "sorry" or anything. that was rude and i feel disrespected. read more

As a reseller I'm aware every place is gonna have buyers who know more than others or have varying levels of customer service abilities but here I feel left out in the cold. They never have a good reason for passing so I go in not knowing whether they'll take or pass what is obviously current styles and in good condition. They take forever and that's because they look everything up. At Buffalo they know in an instant and even if they hold off I don't feel disrespected and they have a reason or will find someone who does. I can always get a second opinion from a manager and everyone dresses like fashion. As a shopper it's also confusing. I never really getting a deal it's either crap for $30 and everything cool is 100 and up? At Buffalo I've gotten amazing pieces for 40-50. Even Buffalos lower priced stuff is fun and interesting. Uptown feels like the worst poshmark store you've ever seen. Keep in mind it's pretty easy to buy reviews on google but not on yelp. read more

Takes about 2 hours to sell clothes here and they want you to stay in the store the whole time. They give you barely any money for the clothes you sell. Not worth it. Also 15 employees and only one poor girl was doing all the clothes sorting and checking in. read more

Honestly, what a waste of time. It took almost an hour for them to process my items, and then they offered me $20 for two pairs of Lululemon leggings in perfect condition. They are extremely picky when purchasing, but that doesn't seem to match the quality of items they are selling in the store. I guess I don't understand consignment. read more

My FAVORITE thrift store. Really clean, organized, and fashions that are hip and fresh. I always find something cute here. Prices are a liiiiiittle higher than a normal thrift store, but it's worth it (clothing usually under $13-$20). This is my partner and I's favorite spot to shop. Be careful in the parking lot, it is very busy. But next door is an art gallery and framing studio, and restaurants so it's a fun area to walk around in. Definitely recommend this shop! read more

What an awesome store! I had to pick up a last minute outfit or top for an audition. I had thirty minutes to hurry and get something. I looked up Uptown and realized it was 6 minutes away so we headed over there. We went to the store and had about 15 minutes. They were so sweet they actually allowed me to try my options on with 5 minutes to close remaining. I appreciated that! All of my items worked and I even saved 40% off on one of my items! Score! They even have a rewards plan for regular customers. They have really cool options so if you're in Austin you should go by there! read more
