I have yet to try their coffee and will definitely be back to try it BUT this is probably one of the best avocado toasts I've ever had. The service was awesome, I had a picky eater with me who only wanted fruit. They were kind enough to make a fruit bowl that she requested. Atmosphere was great, it's a small shop but there's plenty of room outside to sit as well. Saturday mornings are quiet here. Urartu Coffee serves as a great study spot granted there's limited seating but it's hardly ever crowded. There're also ample outlets to use so don't worry about fighting for a seat next to an outlet. You can expect to be greeted with a smile and genuine friendliness. I'd say Urartu Coffee has the most friendly coffee shop environment I've ever been to. In terms of their coffee, it works, and it's good. It won't blow your mind but it does its job of providing caffeine and decent flavor. Definitely try the Armenian coffee for something different, that was some good coffee. Aside from coffee there're also smoothies, pastries and sandwiches if you need something more substantial to fill your stomach. I quite enjoy Cafe Urartu on every visit. Whenever I am in the immediate area I make a pit stop. And its always a pleasant experience for me as the atmosphere is relaxed and the service from Youra and his family is very friendly and welcoming. I came here for a quick coffee date with my friends and I happened to order one of their simple lattes from the menu. It was a Saturday afternoon around 2:30 and the place was packed with people of all ages. Some were studying and doing work on their laptop, while others were getting together with friends and chatting away. I appreciated the vibe of this place which made it feel more welcoming, homey and intriguing--all in addition to its beautiful location with the cobblestone steps surrounded by other wonderful boutiques and restaurants. I took great notice of the interior decor, which is actually what made me bookmark this place from the beginning, with its Greek accent artwork paired with Armenian menu items...such as the classic Soorj (Armenian coffee) served in a classic coffee cup. I liked the setup of their menus organized into three categories at the cashier: one for food, one for drinks and a third one which I forgot about. Maybe there were two? I don't remember. I actually ended up sitting outside with my friends so I didn't really get a chance to see the inside of the shop that much. However, the entire vibe I got from this experience made me want to visit again in the near future. I forgot the name of my latte but it was closer to the sweet side. I'd probably try something a little less sweet for my liking, but I'm sure someone else would like my drink if they had a bigger sweet tooth. PARKING Available in the adjacent structure. In my personal opinion, this coffee shop is just OK in terms of coffee and waffles. I really liked the casual vibe with the sofa, and plenty of seating both inside and outside. I ordered a Vanilla Latte and it was nice and hot and foamy, but the coffee quality wasn't exceptional. The waffle took 10ish minutes to come out even though I was the only one who had ordered food, and there was only one piece as opposed to the two that was in the photo. Combined, the coffee and waffle came out to be ~$12, which I didn't find to be very good value, as the waffle was only OK as well. It was chewy, but the strawberries were not fresh, but frozen, and the bananas weren't super fresh either, but tasted pretty good anyways. Overall, I had an OK breakfast, but I would not return. The store keeper was pretty friendly though. read more

An incredible little hole-in-the-wall sort of establishment! Wouldn't have found it except for the fact I was explicitly looking for a small little coffee shop to sit down at and study for a while. It's on a street off of Brand Blvd, and is very small but cute inside. You can tell it's a Mom-and-Pop business. It was warm and welcoming inside, with an eclectic assortment of couches, tables, seats, and a counter with computers and printers. The lattes we ordered were delicious, and came in huge mugs! This coffee house is on the part of Maryland that's a tiny pedestrian street. The lights hung across the street would be pretty at night from the shop but I went during the day. It's a homey kind of place with big couches and a few tables in and out. I stopped by with a friend to get some coffee and there was a feeling among us that Starbucks would not do. So we found this cute little place and it was a fantastic choice. I had the iced mocha and what makes it stand out is that they use chocolate bits instead of chocolate syrup. Tucked in the quiet part of the street, this Armenian WiFi café included sidewalk seating followed by a large counter and a number of small tables and couches. The occasional foot traffic and laptop dwellers here and there made the mellow place conducive for uninterrupted studying and quiet conversations. The Armenian Coffee ($2.25) came in a tiny but powerful cup that tasted dark, weighted, and deepening to the last drop. It was a much-needed awakening for my writing session. I recommend it. The Decaf Soy Latte ($4.50) arrived with solid espresso flavor. The consistency was smooth, but the flavor didn't carry the taste buds very far. It was not the most striking latte I have experienced. Their plate of Fresh Fruits ($5) was cut into various shapes and sizes nicely stacked together. The fruits were fresh, sweet, had good textures, and the quality was consistent on every visit. It was a good snack to have in between my study breaks. Service was friendly and responsive. Overall, the café was home-like and the owner was warm, friendly, and accommodating. However, my friend and I were particularly disappointed when he refused to serve a homeless person when he was looking to buy a cup of coffee. The gentleman even took out his money to show that he was able to afford it. Despite the fact that businesses in California are legally allowed to discriminate against the homeless, I also believe the owner could have demonstrated a sense of justice and compassion, and extended the same kindness and generosity experienced by his other patrons. Good coffee. I ordered mine iced. I think it's in a great location. Nice and quiet place. There were a few other customers inside but also a large group of men seated outside. There's a computer station in the corner so I'm guessing that one can pay to use it. I also didn't attempt to log into a wifi connection so I'm not exactly sure if they have wifi. Definitely has a nice, quiet, homely feeling. The employee, maybe the owner was very nice. I parked in the garage close to it. I think I was there a little over an hour and it was about $6. I was in a hurry so I'm not sure if there was validation. I was notified that there is indeed free wifi and free 90 minutes validation for parking. Great to know! :-) Check out this place. read more

My bf and I found this place nearby on Yelp after stopping by Porto's Bakery and not wanting to wait in line again (the long, long line) for coffee. It was sort of on a street that reminded me of an alley, but obviously still a street just quite narrow and it was very unassuming in its exterior appearance. Inside we found a few college students hanging out doing homework as well as apparently some of the owners friends chatting it up over coffee with the owner. The owner got up immediately when we entered and greeted us so warmly I felt like I was coming over to an old friend's house instead of a random coffee joint. It was definitely cozy inside. The owner was extremely nice, and I must emphasize on this point ... extremely!! nice ... very pleasant to work with and although the coffee was only mediocre, the experience more than made up for it. I got an iced mocha with almond milk and it was good. There were also food options available. I like how laid back and quiet this place was. It had a very home-y feel to it and plenty of seating inside. The wifi was reliable and free. There were a good amount of outlets inside for you to charge your laptop. There was outdoor seating which is great for your pets! It's location near all the downtown Glendale attractions and there is paid parking in the garages nearby or you can find street parking and walk here. One of my favorite places to chill in Glendale! Eye came here today and felt like eye was at home!! The lady up front was super nice and genuine without a doubt. The pecan bar she recommended was kinda heavenly like her service. Eye sat down at the kings couch facing the street, and read a couple pages from my book eye have been hooked on called Creative Visualization.
