The perfect little bite I was looking for. I'm so over all these mediocre $15-20 breakfast sandwiches. The mocha was also soooo good. And this is coming from a mocha snob. Super rich dark chocolate and espresso. Definitely more on the chocolatey/rich side. And a good amount of drink as well (a little bigger than a Starbucks grande). I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in the area.

So many people define themselves as experts. Sadly, many of those same people will walk in and say things like, "Gosh, I'm tired, could you make me a double espresso?", clearly assuming that stronger taste automatically means more caffeine. My wife and I simply like a good coffee in the morning. Which leads to the obvious question: what do we define as "good coffee"? For us, it helps us get into the day, tastes pleasant, and does not leave a bitter note. We are absolutely not coffee experts and can discuss coffee, at best, at what we Germans would call "Thekenniveau" -- bar-counter level. I do understand, however, that it may make a difference whether beans were roasted weeks or even months ago somewhere remote, then shipped and stored, or whether they were roasted locally and recently. So we asked ChatGPT, and one of the recommendations was REGENT Coffee in our neighborhood. We went. Our directive was very clear: we explained that we knew little to nothing about coffee, which was precisely why we had come in and were looking for advice. The lady helping us started with: "Well, it all comes down to the settings of your coffee machine when you pour your espresso." I responded that we are not really espresso drinkers -- we drink Americano. She gave us "the look" and explained that an Americano is espresso with more water. The information: fair enough. The way it was communicated: not ideal if your goal is to win me as a customer. From there, the conversation did not really lead anywhere. We were asked questions such as whether we preferred nutty or fruity coffee. That may be a perfectly reasonable question for someone who already knows what those terms mean in practical taste terms. But we had just told her that we did not. That was the entire reason we were there. We were not looking to prove our coffee knowledge. We were looking for someone who had the expertise to guide us. In the end, we bought an Americano. It was served so hot that my wife burned her mouth in the car, and it took almost the entire 45-minute drive to Santa Monica before it had reached what we considered a comfortable drinking temperature. It cost $5. And we did not even particularly like it. Would I go again? No. Would I recommend REGENT based on this experience? No. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was a tremendous lost opportunity to turn us into long-term customers. We like expert advice. We drive to Farmers Markets to buy fresh produce knowing full well that we may pay 200% more for something that is perhaps only 15% better. But we can taste the difference, and that makes it worthwhile to us. Coffee could have been exactly the same. If I specialized in coffee, I would make it incredibly easy for people like us to enter that world. I would offer tastings. I would explain, in simple language, what "nutty", "fruity", "chocolatey", "bright", "smooth" or "low acidity" actually mean in the cup. I might offer a short class on how to set up a home coffee machine properly. Maybe even machine-specific sessions. Maybe in the shop. Maybe at the customer's home. Because there are customers walking through the door saying, quite literally: "We know very little. We want advice. We are willing to spend money." And even better from a business perspective: Not just money once. Continuous money. Imagine if the conversation had instead started with: "I totally understand where you are coming from. Coffee can become unnecessarily complicated very quickly. Since you mostly drink Americano and want something smooth rather than bitter, let me give you two small tastes so you can understand the difference. Then I'll recommend one bean to start with." We would almost certainly have bought a bag. Possibly two. And if we had liked them, we might have bought beans there for years. Instead, they sold us one tiny cup for $5 over the counter, while the payment screen suggested an 18-25% tip. And two potentially very loyal customers walked out frustrated. That, to me, is the real business lesson here. It is not about whether REGENT makes good or bad coffee. Taste is subjective. It is about recognizing the customer who is standing right in front of you. Especially when that customer is effectively saying: "Please teach me how to spend more money with you." And then making sure you do not send them home without doing exactly that. Small caffeine footnote: espresso is more concentrated in caffeine per ounce, but a normal serving of drip coffee usually contains more total caffeine than a single espresso because the serving is much larger. Stronger taste does not automatically mean more caffeine.

The young lady who helped was nice and explained how pick up works. Appreciate the helpfulness. This location has both indoor and outdoor seating area. There are several tables inside and I notice couple of tables outside. Store was very clean and well maintained. They also had sample cookies by the register for customers to try which was a nice gesture . This coffee shop is located in walking distance from Americana which makes it a great spot to grab coffee after shopping. There is street parking available and Americana/ Glendale Galleria are another option for parking. I will be back to try different coffees , since the menu looks different than other coffee places.

This place is absolutely amazing! I can't even begin to explain how much I love coming to Urartu!My favorite drink they have must be the white chocolate mocha, which quite frankly is to die for :) and on a sunny day (which it almost always is in California) I order the Urartuccino (i think that's how its spelled) the drink takes me to caramel heaven! The owner is a really nice guy and treats you like family the moment he greets you! The customer service is great and the place has a sense of warmth and great comfort. I would be more then glad to take that extra trip just to come here, trust me its worth it! If you even have more than an thirst for coffee, i would HIGHLY recommend ordering their sandwiches, you can taste the freshness and quality in every bite. Just talking about it is making me hungry! Parking is a breeze too, theres a parking lot right next to the cafe ! This is truly my favorite cafe, I work right across the street and it's such a nice quiet spot with a very comfortable feel. The workers are extremely nice, once they notice you are here to stay for awhile to work, they immediately offer you the wifi password and ask if you'd like your order for here (your order comes in a cute glass mason jar). I came here to work on a thesis and they didn't mind me staying at all! The prices are good and affordable, and the quality and care they put into their work is amazing. My turkey omelette sandwich with avocado was superb! And it was huge, for such a good price. I recommend this place over starbucks anytime if you need a place to work and relax. read more

OMG! Such a tiny cute coffee house! I am truly obsessed with it! It is located in Maryland which is a tiny pedestrian street. I love the service here. The owner here is so nice and welcoming. I did some research to know if it's available in other areas as well, but I found out that it is a single location business. It serves breakfast, lunch, and coffee in Downtown Glendale. It has a really nice Armenian coffee which is something I've never tried before and I really liked it. The owner, I think his name was Yourik and his son Yourik are so welcoming and nice to all the customers. Definitely coming back! read more

The gentlemen behind the counter is very friendly, but my overall experience will likely prevent me from returning. I came here to try to get some work done and it seems there is a regular crew of smokers who hang out right next to the door. I'm not a smoker and I found it to be rather annoying. They do sell cigarettes which should have been red flag. It's a small place that's relatively quiet, but I was disappointed by their coffee. Probably great if you're a coffee and cigarette lover, but not for me. read more

It's a tiny little place on a road off of Brand Blvd, but is very warm and welcoming inside. I loved the eclectic mix of couches, tables, chairs and a counter with computers and printers. The lady working was very sweet, and our lattes came in giant mugs! I loved the feel of it and will definitely be back for a relaxing study spot. read more

I am very lucky to work down the street from this coffee shop so when I need a quick morning pick-me-up, I can swing by here before work or on my morning break. The coffee is great. So far I've tried the Latte, Mayan Mocha, and Iced Coffee. My favorite is definitely the iced. but I'm so sad that they only have it during the summer! Small business, family owned, and done right. When I stay in LA they take care of me every time and know exactly what I want. Their mocha is my go to and it'll probably be yours after visiting them. The staff loves being there and takes pride in their business as much as the owner. After coffee and some traditional pastries, there's a plethora of places to go have lunch within walking distance. Their breakfast food is dark bomb. Especially their avocado toast and their waffles covered in fruits. The avocado tastes so fresh and really hits the spot. Even the waffles are nice and crispy in the outside and the maple syrup is divine. They really pile the fruit on. Every time I have these I eat everything. Great portions too. I work two business from them and everytime I'm on the go they prepare my meal fast that by the way their chicken grilled sandwich is yummy not to mention their pastry always being fresh, Coffee is great cold or hot and the owner is awesome! Extremely disappointed with the cappuccino at this place. The milk was overheated, the foam was thin and collapsed almost immediately, and the coffee itself was bitter with a burnt aftertaste. It honestly felt like the barista had no idea how to make even a basic coffee drink. It's just not worth it. Definitely won't be coming back here for coffee. read more

I went to the counter and politely explained the problems and asked if I could get something else. I was told no because the food is made to order. I also explained that I had ordered a hot espresso, not an iced coffee, but was told I hadn't specified that. The young woman said she would get the manager. We waited another 15 minutes, and no manager ever came to our table. So we left. For the prices they charge, I expect better food, better service, and--most importantly--some effort to make things right when a customer is unhappy.

Ok, this is a particularly sad one -- one that may even make it to become the #1 poster boy in my…read moreupcoming business lecture tour and book. Coffee. So many people define themselves as experts. Sadly, many of those same people will walk in and say things like, "Gosh, I'm tired, could you make me a double espresso?", clearly assuming that stronger taste automatically means more caffeine. My wife and I simply like a good coffee in the morning. Which leads to the obvious question: what do we define as "good coffee"? For us, it helps us get into the day, tastes pleasant, and does not leave a bitter note. We are absolutely not coffee experts and can discuss coffee, at best, at what we Germans would call "Thekenniveau" -- bar-counter level. I do understand, however, that it may make a difference whether beans were roasted weeks or even months ago somewhere remote, then shipped and stored, or whether they were roasted locally and recently. So we asked ChatGPT, and one of the recommendations was REGENT Coffee in our neighborhood. We went. Our directive was very clear: we explained that we knew little to nothing about coffee, which was precisely why we had come in and were looking for advice. The lady helping us started with: "Well, it all comes down to the settings of your coffee machine when you pour your espresso." I responded that we are not really espresso drinkers -- we drink Americano. She gave us "the look" and explained that an Americano is espresso with more water. The information: fair enough. The way it was communicated: not ideal if your goal is to win me as a customer. From there, the conversation did not really lead anywhere. We were asked questions such as whether we preferred nutty or fruity coffee. That may be a perfectly reasonable question for someone who already knows what those terms mean in practical taste terms. But we had just told her that we did not. That was the entire reason we were there. We were not looking to prove our coffee knowledge. We were looking for someone who had the expertise to guide us. In the end, we bought an Americano. It was served so hot that my wife burned her mouth in the car, and it took almost the entire 45-minute drive to Santa Monica before it had reached what we considered a comfortable drinking temperature. It cost $5. And we did not even particularly like it. Would I go again? No. Would I recommend REGENT based on this experience? No. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was a tremendous lost opportunity to turn us into long-term customers. We like expert advice. We drive to Farmers Markets to buy fresh produce knowing full well that we may pay 200% more for something that is perhaps only 15% better. But we can taste the difference, and that makes it worthwhile to us. Coffee could have been exactly the same. If I specialized in coffee, I would make it incredibly easy for people like us to enter that world. I would offer tastings. I would explain, in simple language, what "nutty", "fruity", "chocolatey", "bright", "smooth" or "low acidity" actually mean in the cup. I might offer a short class on how to set up a home coffee machine properly. Maybe even machine-specific sessions. Maybe in the shop. Maybe at the customer's home. Because there are customers walking through the door saying, quite literally: "We know very little. We want advice. We are willing to spend money." And even better from a business perspective: Not just money once. Continuous money. Imagine if the conversation had instead started with: "I totally understand where you are coming from. Coffee can become unnecessarily complicated very quickly. Since you mostly drink Americano and want something smooth rather than bitter, let me give you two small tastes so you can understand the difference. Then I'll recommend one bean to start with." We would almost certainly have bought a bag. Possibly two. And if we had liked them, we might have bought beans there for years. Instead, they sold us one tiny cup for $5 over the counter, while the payment screen suggested an 18-25% tip. And two potentially very loyal customers walked out frustrated. That, to me, is the real business lesson here. It is not about whether REGENT makes good or bad coffee. Taste is subjective. It is about recognizing the customer who is standing right in front of you. Especially when that customer is effectively saying: "Please teach me how to spend more money with you." And then making sure you do not send them home without doing exactly that. Small caffeine footnote: espresso is more concentrated in caffeine per ounce, but a normal serving of drip coffee usually contains more total caffeine than a single espresso because the serving is much larger. Stronger taste does not automatically mean more caffeine.
