I don't normally write reviews but on leaving the store I had to asked the young lady her name because she needs to be recognized. Shanique does an amazing job when it comes to being very polite and respectful to every customer that walked in while I was there. I have visited the store many times and I have observed her interacting with other staff members professionally and spoke with such a warm and friendly tone of voice. Because of her exceptional service I was able to become a returning customer because often times people don't normally provide this type of service in an environment like this. I would definitely recommend her to be the front person for the restaurant training and up skilling other staff how to provide service to enhance the organization, so that each customer can feel valued, appreciated and become a returning customer just like me. If there's one thing I enjoy, it's hot chicken. Originally created in the southernmost parts of Tennessee, honey hot chicken blends the flavors of spices, sweetness, and crispy fried chicken to create a flavor filled treat that always hits. When I heard that Urban Bird opened up in Killeen, I was really excited that this city close to home had finally gotten their own Hot Chicken spot!coated right in the plaza closest to the highway off Fort Hood st, Urban Bird sits comfortably in the heart of Killeen, hoping to establishing itself as a Central Texas staple. The inside of the establishment offers bright colors with pictures of the food and gimmick sayings associated with the restaurant. The seating is very modern with there being two rows of booths and an ordering bar with an open view of the kitchen. I only wish that the menu was not at the front when you walk in, because it does not allow much room for many people to view it at the same time, maybe only a few people. The service there was great! Katoira did a great job assisting me with my drink, asking me about my day, and essentially showing me some good ole fashioned Texan hospitality. The prices were a little far fetched for a place like Killeen. When you think of Central Texas, you usually don't think of people who are high class. Selling a single tender for $4 is a little unrealistic, and selling drinks on the side, fries on the side, and making a basic tender combo only include 2 tenders will not resonate well with this community. These are the prices that I would expect in a place like California, not so much Killeen. However, that is not to say that this business won't thrive, as there are people willing to pay high dollar for their food! The food, was a little underwhelming. I was disappointed by the lack of flavor in my #Sando especially when I received the slider dripping with honey and #BirdSauce. The fries were done well but were little in quantity, and the drink was really good. I definitely plan on trying this place in the near future, because I want to give Killeen businesses a chance! Fast service, food is made when ordered, I've had the Nashville hot tenders and the sandwich, both were good, the French fries would have been great if the were hot, but as they were they were decent and had lots of seasoning on them. The spicy honey dip and their signature bird dip weren't that great and the restaurant itself is crowded with boxes and tables being used as storage/ office space, otherwise the place appeared clean. read more

The Fam and I tried the smash burgers( I know it's a chicken place) and a tender basket. The smash burger was definitely hitting the spot. The tenders was good also but..... it's 3 tenders for $15 and they weren't even big. I feel that that is extremely overpriced. Should be no more than $10 or $11 for 3 small tenders. I would go back though lol, and would definitely recommend. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. I visited on July 31, 2026, and from the moment I walked in, the service was unacceptable. I stood at the register for about 10 minutes without a single employee acknowledging me or explaining how to order. I finally asked the employee in the black shirt, who appeared to be managing or overseeing orders, if I needed to let someone know I wanted to order. He simply said, "Yeah, someone will be with you in a second," but never bothered to tell anyone. After waiting even longer, another employee came over and took my order. She was polite, professional, and actually did her job, so I appreciate her effort. The problems didn't stop there. I waited over 30 minutes for a simple chicken tender basket with sweet potato fries. During that time, multiple customers who ordered after me received their food before I did. I had to ask several times where my order was, and instead of helping, the employee in the black shirt kept looking over at me with a smirk, which only made an already frustrating situation worse. When my food was finally ready, it wasn't even the employee in the black shirt who bagged it--it was the same employee who had taken my order. She seemed to be carrying the workload while he stood around making other orders. If the employee in the black shirt was the manager, then the leadership at this location needs serious attention. A manager should set the standard for customer service, not ignore customers and leave other employees to pick up the slack. Based on this experience, I believe management should review the security footage and evaluate whether he's the right person to be leading the team. The only reason this isn't a one-word review is because the employee who took my order was courteous and professional. She deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the overall experience was so poor that I won't be returning and I threw the food straight into the trash when I left. read more

I was impressed by the taste and tenderness of the tenders. I rank it up there with Chick-fil-A tenders but with better spices, like the spicy seasoning. Their lemonade was also delicious, had almost 3 servings. I'm here in Killeen for 4 weeks, I'll return before I leave. read more

We waited well over an hour and half for our food to get ready on UberEats. We finally had to canceled because our Uber driver said they still hadn't even started making our order yet. I understand you're a new business and are busy. But please update your order wait tine, we ordered and it said it would be ready in about 36 minutes. If we'd known it would take over an hour, we wouldn't have ordered and continued waiting. Coming from an Uber Eats driver myself, this is extremely frustrating for the drivers because the longer they sit, they aren't making money. And for them to have to cancel waiting for the order takes away their time waiting there. We were excited to try it but we won't be eating here and we will sharing our experience with others as well. read more
