Stopped by Urban Crave for some lunch while waiting for my flight home. I liked that the restaurant had plenty of seating and the menu had a good amount of options. I was going back and forth on whether to get a burger or salad, and opted to order the Asian style salad with kale and fried chicken. My friend ordered the kimchi style burger with a side salad. The salad that I ordered was a good size and I liked how they didn't drench it with dressing. The chicken strip pieces, kale, and addition of cashews made the salad pretty enjoyable. My friend's burger was alright, but they overdid it with the spicy sauce and did the same with her salad dressing. She couldn't finish the side salad, since the dressing was a little too much. Our server was quite welcoming and helpful. Customer service was friendly and attentive and we had a decent dining experience. I will say $24 for a salad with some chicken tenders is a bit high. I considered ordering the key lime pie for dessert, but changed my mind, since it was $10. The prices for food are steep, and I assumed it would be a bit cheaper. However, that is generally the case for airport food and ONT has very limited selection. Possibly worth visiting if you're flying out of ONT and in need of a pretty good meal before your flight. To be honest, it may be best to dine or eat somewhere outside of the airport. read more

Grabbed a Mean Street Burger with fries and a water. Food was fine. Nothing outstanding and nothing bad. Fine for a quick bite at the airport. What I was not expecting was a new surcharge called an Employer Benefit Surcharge that's normally seen in the Bay Area. I just want a burger, paying for a stranger's health insurance is not something on my mind when eating out nor should it be. No one else pays for mine and I don't want anyone to. So I sit at the bar and the bartender she asks me for my ID which is standard at these places, mind you I'm 60 but I get it. Now my license is slightly, and I mean slightly, curved from being in my wallet and subsequently my pocket. So the bartender decides in her infinite wisdom to attempt to straighten it out and cracks it in the process then proceeds to tell me she can't accept it because it's cracked. Manager comes out and tells me the same thing, when I tell him what happened he stares at me blankly and just repeats the same thing. Now I'm traveling on a somewhat family emergency and can't afford to be removed from the airport so all I can really do is walk away. read more

I got lunch and dinner there for a flight to the east coast. It's a typical bar centered airport restaurant so everyone was eating in. While ordering to go wasn't easy with nobody interested in helping me out, I eventually found a nice server who was willing to do it. She even was able to rush the order so I could make my flight with time to spare. I ordered a bacon avocado chicken sandwich and it came with a side salad that was shockingly solid; it even had half an avocado on it (maybe by mistake). They do have a limited selection of vegetarian options on the menu. But beware if you're dairy-free or vegan. They include dairy ingredients that are NOT listed on their menu. I ordered the black bean and avocado bowl without the ranch dressing. I waited 20 minutes and took it back to my gate -- only to discover it was coated in cheese. The cheese melted in, so pushing it aside wasn't an option. The staff was kind, at least, and processed a refund. I only came here for drinks and to watch the Dodger game while waiting for my flight to board . They upgraded this place since the last time I was here and it looks good . Big screens With sports on everywhere you look. They do make a decent dirty Martini so we ordered 2 . Staff is great, bartenders are awesome. Prices are typical of your airport menus, everything makes you just a lil mad when you think about how much you're being taken for a ride for your money. But that is just airport dining. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza which tasted like a pizza you'd make yourself at midnight in your kitchen, but those have been some of my best pizza experiences so I'm not mad at it. read more

Five-Stars because of server Daniella who worked the morning shift on Sunday, May 4. The place was cranking and she was only one working the floor. Despite that, she acknowledged each party saying I'll be with you in a few minutes with a smile, and most people were patient and understanding. We almost left because the type of music blaring was not our cuppa tea on a Sunday morning- I'm talking some serious hard rock- which in our heyday woulda been fine, but now as oldies prefer something more top-40. Upon leaving we noticed the info on place it's a rock-theme bar so just beware fellow-boomers. Daniella made sure we had our coffee, waters, meals and thanked us for our patience. She was so sweet and never gave off a vibe of being stressed or harassed. Hard to find that nowadays. We used to be in the industry so we know how it can be. The food was very good- basic breakfast fare, but NOT greasy, oily or dry. Eggs cooked perfectly, toast nice and hot, bacon was crisp without being burnt. We made it through TSA fast enough to have breakfast at Urban Crave. Chelsea was friendly and served our coffee quickly. The food was delicious - and I don't think any restaurant serves a better Tator tot. We will definitely allow time for breakfast when we next fly out of CVG. read more

The food was fine. Not great, but fine. The service was good and the music was nice and not too loud. But we'll never eat there again because of the 7% server retention and training surcharge. That's absurd. Increase your prices if you need to, but don't tack a surprise surcharge onto every check. And yes, it was on the menu, but it was in fine print at the bottom and you know most people will never notice it. Raise your prices and then let folks decide if the price is reasonable or not. So our flight got diverted from PHX to Ontario due to thunderstorms. We decided to have a cocktail and a bite while we wait out the 4 hour delay. The bar is busy and crowded but we found a table. Our server was SO rude. His name is Richard (appropriate). They obviously have a full bar, but I was told rudely, I could not order a Mojito. I asked if the Margherita pizza has tomatoes, and he responded, "does it say it does?" When he returned with my pathetic looking cocktail, I didn't say anything. He said, "You're welcome!" Really?! I cannot believe the level of rudeness from this server. The pizza is obviously a boxed pizza that is heated up. Food was marginal, service HORRIBLE! Never again. This place is a complete rip off. The food quality does not warrant the prices on the menu, AND they charge an additional 7% "employee retention surcharge" that is not considered gratuity. Surcharges like this are complete BS. HOW ABOUT UPDATING YOUR PRICES TO REFLECT THE TRUE PRICE INSTEAD OF SURPRISING CUSTOMES IN THE END. I stopped in while I was waiting to board my flight. The grilled chicken sandwich was average, but the fries were really good. They were nice and crispy, and tasted fresh. Half way through eating, I noticed an eyelash or a short hair on a fry. I didn't notice it at the time, but if you zoom in, you can see it on a fry. I just tossed the fry to the side and didn't eat it. Service was not the best. I had ordered mozzarella sticks as a starter and the waiter brought my main entree out first. I waited some time and noticed they forgot about it, so I just brushed it off and continued to eat my main entree. The next time the waiter came back, he had the receipt in hand and said no rush. I wasn't too happy, considering he forgot the starter, didn't refill my water once and closed the check out without asking if I wanted anything else. Rock & Brews was one of the only options for an alcoholic beverage at Terminal 4 of the Ontario Airport. Not saying they're amazing... but I'm saying it was not bad considering it was my only option. My flight was getting delayed so I thought I might as well grab a drink and a bite. There was a sign up for self seating. The seemed to be slightly understaffed like all of the other businesses out there, but the girl working the area was definitely trying her best and super nice and sweet by the time she got to me. For my beverage, I had the Creole Bloody Mary ($14) which comes with absolut peppar, house made bloody mary mix, creole salt, olives, okra, celery and a glorious crunchy piece of bacon. It definitely had a kick of spice and I loved it. Funny thing is my flight time moved slightly back up by the time I got the blood mary so I had to down it real fast. I also had their Gastropub Burger ($15.75) which is served on a brioche bun, double melted swiss, caramelized onions, bacon, baby onions, tomatoes, garlic aioli and topped with a sexy sunny side up. The burgers come with a side of fries. Due to my flight moving back up, I had to QUICKLY stuff as much of this burger down as possible... Literally the amount of time the waitress took to get the check. Glad I handled most of it. The meat was soft and juicy. The caramelized onions were a nice touch. It was tasty for an airport burger and I wish I had more time to enjoy it slowly. Overall probably one of your better options if you find yourself needing to kill some time while at Terminal 4 of Ontario Airport. read more
