I lived in the area about 4-5 years ago and this was my favourite place to go eat…read more Things have definitely changed though. Not sure if it's under new ownership now or what but the experience was awful. Just wanted to get some food to go and was filling my bowl with ingredients and the guy was watching me like a hawk. He then tried accusing me of pushing the food down into the bowl and said there would be an additional $10 charge if it needs a second container. I wasn't worried about that because I have gone there many times before and stacked my bowl much higher than it was. But then when he went to put the food in the container which already was 1/3 full of rice that I didn't even want he didn't even fill it up all the way and put the smallest amount in a second container and said I need to pay $10 for the second container of food. I was so in disbelief that all I wanted to do was get a refund and go somewhere else but I decided to just take the one initial container that wasn't even full that I paid $20 for and just leave. I did try to have a talk with the guy and explain that the container was not even full and that I never asked for rice but he started getting really aggressive and yelling. Not sure how much longer this place will last with the way they are treating their customers

We truly appreciated how welcoming and helpful they were. We were impressed by the wide variety of fresh and healthy ingredient options. There are so many fresh toppings and sauces to choose from, and it was so easy to fully customize our bowl from base to protein to toppings. It is not a preset menu spot, which makes it even more fun. We also loved how vegetarian- and vegan-friendly the options are. The portion size was surprisingly generous (more than enough for us)! For the quality and price, it was honestly very impressive. Our bowls were served hot straight from the grill, and we felt like we were watching a cooking show as the staff prepared everything right in front of us. We could literally feel the heat from where we were standing. Huge thumbs up to the hardworking team managing both prep and grilling. Everything tasted fresh and flavourful without being overly greasy. We even had leftovers for lunch the next day, and it still tasted amazing. We also loved their healthy drink options and frozen yogurt. Learning that their entire menu is seed-oil free and refined-sugar free made us appreciate the concept even more. The space is clean, bright, and has a super welcoming atmosphere. It is a great option when you want something warm, hearty, and customizable instead of cold salads or typical fast food. Great value for money and protein options for everyone. We truly think Goodbowl needs more locations in Vancouver. Highly recommend. 100% would come back again. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $30-$40 spent per person (dinner) Presentation: 2/5 Parking: 1/5 Be patient! It is located in a busy plaza with lots of restaurants and shops. Tips: * Go on a weekday if you can. It is a bit easier for first-timers to learn the process. * Ask questions. The staff are more than happy to explain the build-your-bowl steps. * Do not underestimate the portion size. * Pair your bowl with their drinks or frozen yogurt if you are extra hungry. I ordered a Regular Bowl ($15.95) with egg noodles, various fresh veggies, hormone-free chicken, and teriyaki sauce. I feel that I could've asked for more sauce though as I prefer more saucy noodles. I loved how the ingredients and toppings were all made on a grill top in front of you and it is served sizzling hot! The fruit smoothies ($8.65) were such a treat too! We chose the Green Machine (spinach, apple, kale, pineapple, banana, low-fat vanilla froyo) and the Classic (strawberry, banana, orange, low-fat vanilla froyo). We enjoyed how refreshing and natural it tasted. They also have fresh fruit frozen yogurt and we picked a small size ($4.95). We picked a strawberry banana and blueberry flavour. This was pretty good but I felt like it could've been creamier or blended even more. Still hit the spot though. If we want nutritious food and fresh ingredients next time we're in the Richmond area, we'll be returning to Goodbowl!

This is the first time i've ever been to happy lamb. I rarely eat at all you can eat hot pot places…read morein general. -came on a weekday early afternoon with my friends. -happy lamb had a $19.99 happy hour all you can eat lunch special so we decided to try it out. -We selected the mushroom broth for our hot pot broth. Not a big fan of it. Tastes pretty plain in my opinion. Not bland by any means but it was just ok in terms of taste. -The meat was fine. It wasn't fatty. It tasted like any sliced hot pot meat you can get anywhere. There were lamb, beef, pork, and luncheon meat slices available for this menu. There was a small selection of seafood available as well. I didn't really like the cod paste siu mai. The texture was rubbery and the flavor wasn't that great. The fish tofu, fish roll, and fish balls were fine. They tasted like any other fish balls you can get anywhere. There was also a small selection of vegetables available. The Napa cabbage leaves and winter melon slices were fresh and big. No complaints on the vegetables. The sauce station was vast and everything you could possibly want was there. There were no lines and the station was clean. Some places like Big Way Hot Pot provide simple sauce recipes for beginners, but there were no suggestions here. It would be nice if they added some suggestions because i'm a newbie when it comes to sauce combinations. A very small selection of hot small plate appetizers were available too. They served as appetizers for the hot pot or something more solid in case you want a break from just eating hot pot foods. I wish there was a bigger selection though. For the appetizer buffet area, there were lamb bones with meat in some type of brown and red sauce, the classic vegetable spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, and deep fried mantou, which is basically a kind of crispy fried dough bread with condensed milk. They had a few cold vegetable appetizers like chinese Kelp salad which was slightly spicy, and wood ear mushrooms which were slightly sour. I didn't like either of them. Also, i noticed from past yelp reviews that customers were offered free ice cream. We were not offered any. I guess they discontinued that bonus. As for the service, I don't really have any problems with the service here. The staff were pretty good at refilling the water jug with sliced lemon even though it wasn't really empty. We didn't have to wait long at all for our hot pot ingredients. It all arrived within 10-15 minutes. One little hiccup was that we ordered udon but the staff gave us thin ramen noodles by mistake. Our server changed it to the correct udon noodles after we pointed it out. As for the place itself, it was pretty empty with a couple of solo eaters and a couple tables with families. The dining area was clean and roomy. We were seated at a booth by the window but the blinds were closed since the sunlight was too bright. Washrooms were tucked away far in the corner so it was a bit of a walk but they were clean, not too small, and empty. Overall i would give the food 3 out of 5 because nothing stood out to me. The food was just average all around. The service was fine, but the price was great at $20. In fact, I think $20 per person is by far the cheapest, best value all you can eat hot pot deal in the Vancouver area. So i'll give Happy Lamb Burnaby 4 out of 5 yelp stars overall because its a good value. This is the best bang-for-your-buck AYCE hot pot deal as long as you're okay with their average food quality.

The menu depicted various grilled meats and lots of veggies, with rice or noodles, for a reasonable price. (Most everything else at the other places were fried. And I wasn't in the mood for Panda Express). I ordered a teriyaki chicken with minimal rice. This dish cost $5.99 (the cheapest meal offered) and I usually eat 1/3-1/2 of any given meal, anyway. The lady who took my order was friendly but quite the character, with her "wig" of red yarn braided in two large side braids, and the "cook" was a nice guy who was personable enough. My dish was presented in a styrofoam box (even though I said I was going to eat it in the food court there). As for the food itself, I inspected the chicken pieces and they were cooked through and through. There were some veggies (carrots and cabbage, mostly). And, as I requested, I got only a bit of rice. Unfortunately, everything was doused in a teriyaki sauce that I wasn't too keen on (mostly because there was so much of it. But also it just wasn't my cup of tea). I ate 1/3 and threw the rest out. And I felt super queasy and had major GI issues for the next few hours (I'll spare the details but, suffice it to say, it was NOT a fun drive back to Vancouver for me). Other than a Starbucks coffee, this was the only thing I had all day, so the chances are pretty high that this food didn't sit well with me. Not sure if it was me or the food, but I'm not going to take a chance and eat here again.
