    me riding during my lesson
    Mackenzie K.

Amazing trainer! To start off with the place, it is so organized! As with Dede, she has so much patience and she is just an amazing person! For the training part of her, she is so understanding if you are struggling and she will do her best to help find a technique that helps you do it best! A thing I found amazing is that when I was struggling, she gave me exercises that helped me so much! Unlike my old trainer, if you finish your lesson early, she will let you help feed, bathe, etc. Right when I met Dede, I could tell that she isn't doing this for the money. She loves her job and she is doing it because she wants to help all of her students find what they love! I totally recommend this place and I am so grateful I am taking lessons with her!

Finally a place that's close by my house 13 minutes away, took my lil one for a riding lesson and we had an amazing time. I got in contact with Dede and she's GREAT! Easy to talk to and very courteous. Janelle was my lil one trainer and she did an amazing job with my daughter. Thank you! I will be coming back for more lessons and I will definitely bring my older kiddos to ride. I highly recommend this place!

I had a great experience my boyfriend and I had a horse riding lesson with Diana she is such a sweet heart and explained everything with a lot of patience we had fun and also she made us feel comfortable around the horses. I really recommend coming here if you want to learn and ride horses.

Dede was an absolute gem. We had prepaid for horseback riding and accidentally went to the wrong place, but Dede took my husband and I in with no problem. She was very understanding for the last minute trip coming in from out of town, along with us having no experience in horseback riding. She let us pick out our horse, give them love and maintenance, and then we rode the horses around the station a few times. Our appointment went over an hour and we were super appreciative of her. We didn't feel rushed, and we also got the hang of it not too long after with her great teaching skills. Thank you for the experience and the photos you captured of our time!

    * Disorganized, unprofessional, & very impatient * Long review ... but it's definitely one to read when you have time!! "Trainer" DeDe said bad reviews never get read, but hopefully someone reads this and takes this review into consideration before deciding to waste your time, energy & money. My 9 yr. old daughter has been attending classes since the 1st week of September. After the 3rd lesson I found Dede getting frustrated with my daughter. My child is extremely shy, super polite and very soft spoken. My daughter has a tinier physique so she wasn't so stern with the large rescue horses she was put on. I had pulled DeDe aside and asked her to have a little more patience with my daughter. I asked DeDe if she was too much to deal with because of her bashful personality. She said no & she would get a smaller horse for my daughter to train on. Dede brought a smaller horse out only for the next session and proceeded to place my daughter on one of her rescue horses for each following session there after. Payment: When initially booked I let her know my schedule and she agreed to Tuesday night lessons, which got switched to Sundays at 4pm and she switched again to 12 as her previous client came back from vacation "and wanted her time back". She priced me at $500 for 10 lessons or $60 pay as you go ( which was NO problem ). I paid 120 via cash for the 1st two lessons and SHE offered to "discount" me the proceeding sessions. So I sent her 150 for lessons 3(which thankfully I kept receipts & tracking via text). Being that I share joint custody my daughter's father agreed to pay lessons 6-10. He paid lesson 6 cash (again got proof of payment) & lesson 7 Dede canceled then an hour later asked if we could go at a later time (btw this would have been the 3rd class she would have cancelled) I agreed, we showed up and the class was cut short as ALL her others have been!!! My daughter's father didn't show that day but I offered to Zelle her and she declined due to the class being cut short. I confirmed the following week lesson Sunday at 12 and she agreed! I show up to this last lesson to be approached by DeDe while having one of her clients (little girl about 11 years old) on a horse to be advised that she gave my daughters training time away. Confused, I asked why she would do that when it was confirmed the weekend before. She got super defensive and said she didn't have time. I advised that was very unprofessional of her to act that way in front of the little girl and her response was "damn right I'm unprofessional". At that time I wished to not continue with the conversation & advised her I was going to write a review on how she conducts business and my experience. As soon as I left she started sending me text messages which I asked her to stop and she continued! My daughters feelings were the least of her concern as she was more worried about the review I was going to leave. Dede tried to profile my family as a disrespectful "crew" lol (she may not be used to blended families or cordial co-parenting, which she commended us on as well) and was under the assumption we didn't have money which is very much the complete opposite. She tried to say we owed her money which in fact we didn't! We never have been disrespectful, rude & even offered to help around the stable as she's a little older & seemed to be by herself a lot. If your looking for someone who's genuinely patient and willing to take their time to teach your child this place is not it!!! After all these lessons all my daughter learned how to do was brush the horse, not even a full groom.. which btw grooming took up 20 minutes of the 45 minute class (which should actually be 60 minutes) If you decide to go with this trainer make sure you KEEP RECEIPTS OF EVERYTHING ~ from payments to schedules!! Also.. if you're thinking about booking for Quince pictures know that these rescue horses are not accustomed to big dresses. Dede had a lot to say about one of her clients after several attempts of them taking photos and were unsuccessful because the horses were scared! I definitely will not be taking my daughter back here and will make sure she gets the training she deserves!!! To DeDe: I know you have been waiting for this review to comment. Whatever you have to say to me is irrelevant at this point and I wish you nothing but the best!!!

I'm not Irene. But would you want any business to respond to you like this?? Yikes!!!

I'm not Irene, but would you want any business to respond to you like this? Especially one that deals in children and beginners?? Yikes Aside from that I did ride with this woman and her deniability is shocking. Please go literally anywhere else. They have some very nice trainers in Santiago canyon, Irvine, and San Juan Capistrano. Well worth the drive. I've already learned shoulder in haunches in and out, lengthened trot sitting and posting, leg yeilds and working on side pass. My trainers work with children 4 and up. Good luck everyone

My family has been getting lessons from Dede for almost a year now. We treasure our time with her. Not only is she an excellent horse trainer but she is also a very kind and humble person. I could not ask for a better person to guide my family on what it takes to love on and care for horses. She has a great sense of humor. Dede does a fabulous job of catering each lesson to her students and meets them where they are but encourages them to do their best everyday.

I went into this thinking I was just going to ride a horse. This course is much much more than that. Understanding, caring and reading the state of mind of a horse is much more important than riding. These animals are amazing and I through De De's teachings gained a complete respect and understanding of this. Every week was a learning experience. Highly recommend giving this a shot. One of the better things I've decided to do. I now am seriously thinking of horse ownership.

Dede is an amazing instructor to teach Horseriding. My daughter is 6 years old and loves horses. So we found Urban Horseman on Yelp and I'm so glad we did. She has been going weekly and you can see an improvement each week. I'm so amazed when I see my little girl riding, she is doing really good, with a lot to learn. Dede has the patience and experience to teach, and I love that about her. She has been so patient with my shy daughter teaching her so much. If your looking for someone to teach horse back riding you found her. Another thing I have loved about attending Dede's classes is the relationship with the horse. My daughter has grown to be comfortable around them, they are so good, loving and beautiful.

    The Urban Horseman

My daughter started training with Dede in June 2023, she was ambivalent and has a really hard time following directions and staying on task. This has honestly been the best therapy (that's what I call it) for her. Dede is so patient and has learned what works to get through to my daughter. In this short period of time she has become a more confident rider and I can honestly say she has learned to focus, pay attention to the horse, attention to herself in what she is doing. I've enjoyed watching her progress so much I started taking lessons myself last month. :)

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel welcome and at ease. The instructor, Laura, was knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain everything in detail and ensuring that my daughter feels comfortable before getting on the horse. The horses themselves were well-trained and gentle, making it easy for a beginner like my daughter to learn the basics of riding. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with a spacious arena for practicing different exercises and techniques. Throughout the lessons in these past 6 months we have see the improvement and how she is gaining confidence with each ride. Laura provides helpful feedback and guidance, pushing Delilah to challenge herself and try new things. Overall, I highly recommend taking horseback riding lessons at this stable. I read a recent review left by someone claiming that the staff here are not kind or welcoming to minorities. This has never been the case for us as we are Mexican. So that statement is far from being true. I highly recommend this place to all who are looking to start horseback riding. Perfect for younger kids. Parking was probably the only downside. Since you park in the main park area, it was pretty packed with baseball games and birthday parties going on. If you're going mid-afternoon, just be prepared to circle a bit for a spot. Pro tip: get the Groupon! We grabbed a family 4-pack for only $13 way cheaper than paying at the gate, which made it feel like a really good deal. As for activities, pony rides were $10 and the tractor ride was $12. My nephew skipped the ponies but loved the tractor ride. Feeding the animals costs a couple bucks ($2-$3 for pellets), but just keep in mind you can only feed the llamas, goats, and one pony. Still fun though! He also got to interact with a chicken, which he thought was super cool. Overall, it's a cute, simple spot for a quick outing with kids. My son attended Adventurewood camp for the first time this week. For the most part he enjoyed…read morehimself -- particularly the characters they introduce throughout the week. However, we decided to pull him out for next week because of a very disturbing situation. He shared that a counselor had pushed him with both hands on his shoulders during a capture the flag activity. He had dropped his flag and was putting it back on when a counselor (he didn't know her name) pushed him back hard enough to make him lose his balance and fall. She also barked "you need to reset!" She didn't ask if he was ok or help him up. You'd think if this was an accidental push and he fell over she would say something like "sorry bud are you ok? Here let me help you up" but nope, not a word. A friend he's attending camp with witnessed the whole incident. Since I pick them both up in the afternoons they both recounted this situation to me and both of them noted how inappropriate her behavior was. I immediately reached out to Michael, the owner of the camp. He said he wanted to identify this counselor and get her side of the story. Understandable. My son felt uncomfortable going back the next day but I reassured him it would be handled and offered to drop him off in the morning and stick around to talk to Michael and the counselor. I wanted him to feel safe. Michael identified her (her name is Carson) and said he wanted to talk to her first, which he did a few feet away from me. I heard her say she didn't push him. They then walked over to me and she again denied everything. So we asked both kids to come over and recount what happened. They both did -- in front of her -- and reiterated she pushed him. She denied even touching him. So Michael suggests at this point that perhaps it was an accident and my son responds by saying "how do you push someone like that by accident?!" No response. So I ask her, are you saying these kids are lying? She again said she didn't touch him and at this point we send the kids away. I'm incensed because not only does she gaslight both of them to their face but tells this bold faced lie to her boss in front of the campers and me. I tell her I believe them and I think she's the one lying. At this point she gives me this dirty look - angry, irritated and almost rolls her eyes at me. I turn to Michael and say "and now she's giving ME an attitude?!" Unbelievable. In a follow up call, he tells me how good of a person she is and that this is shocking for him to hear but that she doesn't seem like someone who would do something like this...that she's getting her teacher credentials and he knows her really well. I am getting the vibe he doesn't actually believe any of this and he sounds very skeptical. I respond by telling him that it's almost always surprising when people exhibit bad behavior and that even teachers do bad things...that doesn't make her any more credible in my eyes. He acknowledged that. In fact, it's worse because I would be really concerned to have someone like that teaching a kid. Lack of empathy, accountability, and integrity. I mean, I think it's great he's trying to have her back but there are moments in life when you need to draw a line and act swiftly...these are one of those moments. Because ultimately, this impacts the reputation of your camp. I told him that it would be good to offer training to his staff in case this ever happens again in the future and honestly he sounded baffled and asked me to clarify...I said well maybe tell your staff not to give dirty looks to a mom who's clearly upset that her son just got pushed by a grown adult at summer camp?? I told him that the response to this situation could've resulted in a totally different outcome. Had she said something like "I really don't recall pushing you but if I inadvertently did and made you feel bad I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that" - I would've went home that morning feeling fine about the situation. When I told him this he said that he's not going to police all her reactions, that she's still young, that she's still learning and made all kinds of excuses for her. Exhausting. Apparently she got a "warning" and will sit out of the flag activity (umm, ok...). He seems like a smart guy and wish him nothing but success in the future and I was earnestly trying to offer advice for how to handle a situation like this better but it fell on deaf ears. I really hope that some kind of learning comes out of this for both of them. Oh and to top it off, my son's friend told her mom that Carson was giving her looks several times throughout the day today and when she asked what kind she said "side eye" looks. NOT COOL. My son also said she was kind of mean to him but wondering why they were even in close proximity when Michael said they'd absolutely be separated and would not see each other? Validates we both made the right choice by pulling them both out. He offered a refund but I'm still pissed about the situation.

BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER!…read more My husband and I dreamed of a wedding where everyone could stay together onsite, immersed in nature, with no worries about driving after a night of fun, and Camp Osito Rancho made that dream a reality. Our families stayed in the health center, lodge, and electrified cabins, while our friends embraced the adventure of summer cabins and tents. The venue offers so many stunning spaces, from the spacious dining hall for meals to the stage/amphitheater with fire pits--perfect for s'mores and late-night stories. We exchanged vows at the top of a hill near the outdoor pavilion, with a gorgeous backdrop of pine trees and a view of Big Bear Lake in the distance. We were able to offer our guests camp activities like archery and a pool day, as well as had room to setup other activities like craft tables and lawn games. The biggest perk was the complete freedom to choose our own vendors, allowing us to create a truly personalized experience (huge shoutout to Scratch Kitchen for catering--our guests still rave about the food). We spent a year making signs, collecting décor, buying solar lights, and crafting to transform this Girl Scout camp into a full-blown wedding festival. If you're up for planning the details, this venue is the ultimate blank canvas. Last but not least, the Camp Osito Rancho team is absolutely amazing. A huge thanks to Angel for her help throughout the year, Ryan for his help throughout the weekend, and to Gerardo for the tour that sold us from the start. For a wedding that feels like an unforgettable getaway, this place is pure magic

This was my first time visiting Disneyland and basically my first time in California, as a tourist anyways. Disney did not offer transportation like in the past but I needed to get a transfer from LAX to Anaheim and decided to go through them because I do not know anything about the area or even how far it actually was from LA to Disney. It turns out to be quite far. Disney sent me an online form to fill out all of the details of the flights to a from CA. I not only filled out the forms but I called Disney twice to make sure it was all set. Karmel never contacted me or texted me ahead of the vacation, but I thought Disney is very organized, it must be all set. Wrong! Typically Disney is on top of things, at least they were every time I went to Florida. For this trip, I told them to pick me up at LAX at 10:00 AM. I get to the airport and call the company. Disney told them noon! I'm like "What?!!!!!" I do not want to wait outside the airport on the curb for two hours. Luckily, Karmel was very friendly and very helpful and located someone to get us within twenty- thirty minutes! This gentleman was very friendly and professional. We got a nice Suburban that took us directly to the hotel. Perfect! Then the company finally let me know they needed my number so they could text me the day before departure and then the day of when they arrived. This was never communicated to me by them or Disney. Luckily, I called them again because they did NOT have my number even after all of this. They picked me up about four hours before the flight. I did read a complain on Yelp stating they thought that would be too much time before the flight. It wasn't. It was accurate! We had a 7 AM flight, so they got us at 2:45 AM. Again, a nice, professional driver got us again in a nice Suburban. By the time we reached LAX, dropped off the luggage, went through security, got a coffee, caught a shuttle to another part of the airport and reached the game it was after 6 AM. Even super early in the morning this airport is very busy and it takes a very long time to get where you need to be. So Karmel's timing was accurate. It left only about twenty minutes time to eat breakfast before boarding the plane. Would personally use them again? Maybe. They seemed to have a good system, but only if you communicate with them directly and not rely on a company, even if it is Disney, to make the arrangements. But when you are a family with multiple suitcases and carry-ons and need to get back and forth, the large SUV's were very efficient transportation and probably a better value than booking and waiting for an Uber when you need to travel in the middle of the night.

USED 2 times within last year from LB airport to Disney area. HIGHLY recommended. ON TIME FAST NICEread more
