Chimichurri Steak, Beet Salad, Truffle Fries

I am so glad I tried this place. I've heard friends say positive things before but it really surprised me how good the place was. You pick and main item and two side items. The had a good variety of selections for the side items. The Chimichurri Steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The beet salad was refreshing. And those Truffle fries were excellent! I was surprised about the generous portions given the price. It was very affordable for high quality food. Semi casual spot. You order at the counter, they give you a numbered placard and then they deliver the food to you. My only complaint is the parking. This is a very busy shopping center with a lot of stores and not enough parking.

Wow!! Such a cool place to check out. We came here for my mom's birthday dinner and this place did NOT disappoint. So many food options on the menu, the food comes out super fast and taste so fresh and flavorful, and it's plated so beautifully, like a fancy restaurant. The ambiance is super chill and low key, the music is spot on, it's just perfect. And the staff, they are all super friendly, they welcomed us immediately as we walked in. Brooklyn and India deserved to be recognized as they were very friendly and welcoming. There was another staff member staff who brought us out our drinks but we didn't catch her name but she was also super helpful, We used the kiosk to order which is nice too. Definitely stop by and check them out, you'll be so glad you did.

We had such a great experience when we came over the weekend. Ordering is so simple. You just place your order at the kiosk and that's it. There's plenty of seating inside the restaurant as well as outside on the patio. Our food orders came out relatively quickly. Let me tell you it was all so very delicious. The staff were incredibly sweet. Shoutout to India and Brooklyn!! Highly recommend and can't wait to come back again.

Food: 5 Mics Service: 5 Mics Ambiance: 5 Mics Food: American Fare is served here with lots of choices to hit exactly what you are looking for. Entrees, salads, sandwiches, burgers. I was tempted to try the burger but went the healthy route of a salad with steak. Wife had the beef with mashed potatoes. Service: Awesome! Having hospitality experience, this is what you are looking for. Friendly, patient and can guide you through the menu options. Ambiance: Clean and modern and lots of seating. We went to the Davis location-come thru and eat! You won't regret it! We'll be back for the next few Sundays.

This review is based on a catered order. The steak sandwich looked pale and rare, but it was surprisingly tender and tasty. The house salad was ordinary, but the vinaigrette and pickled onions elevated the greens. I would try this place if I'm around.

I came here with some friends for brunch on a sunday, and we stayed for a while just talking, which made for a nice experience. We sat in the patio outside. it was nice and quiet considering that's its next to one of the main roads in davis. The service style is the one where you order at the front first, then they give you a table flag and bring the food out to you. You also handle things like water, condiments, and utensils yourself. The roast chicken was pretty decent. Nothing crazy, but good. The caesar salad was good too, and overall the food felt fresh and healthy. The fries were fine, felt like they were battered or at the least seasoned One interesting thing is that they rotate specials through the menu every week encouraging you to try something new Overall, it was a solid experience. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The food tasted healthy, and I felt pretty good afterward.

Food: great selection, healthy, portions are just right (the salmon I ordered was moist and not dry at all) Service: food is probably made to order so it takes a while. It's worth it though. Just don't come here in a rush. The servers were nice. Ambiance: there are shared tables and an outdoor patio. I came on a really cold night and didn't want to sit outside. There wasn't enough seating for my party of 4 inside. We had to sit separately during our meal. That's the only disappointing part. Otherwise, I will be back.

We saw this restaurant reviewed on Instagram and we finally made it to eat! It was nice and clean. We walked in and ended up ordering at the kiosk. We are kind of old school so it was nice to have the opportunity to talk to a human even though we know kiosks are the future. Prices are kind of steep, but that's the trend now. The menu is very extensive! I ended up ordering the steak salad and my friend ordered the siren turf plate. I looked at the fries avg they looked so yummy, so I ordered a side of fries. We grabbed our table sign (mine was my HS graduation year) and sat down at a bar-height table with comfy chairs. The restaurant was pretty busy while we were there, but it only took about 10 minutes for our food to arrive. His plate arrived first (Surf 'n Turf) and it looked yummy. We should have put our meals on the same number since my food came out about 5 minutes after his did. He started eating since his was hot and I didn't want it to get cold. My fries came out next and I was disappointed. The images on the kiosk made them look like they would be very well seasoned. It did not look seasoned at all when they arrived. They were nice and hot, but my friend said they tasted "like a potato". Nothing to write home about. I didn't even end up eating too many and I don't often leave food behind! My salad came out and it looked amazing! I ordered the steak well done since it was the only other option. Surprisingly the meat was still very tender and not dry at all. There was a hint of mint in the salad and that was a very refreshing addition. I liked the mango salsa and added crunch of nuts, but I got most of it at the end of the salad. We stayed until 9:30 and at one point the lights dimmed so we took that as our sign it was time to leave. Overall, our meals were good, but I probably won't put this restaurant on a regular rotation. I paid $30 for a salad and fries and I left some fries on the plate. It reminds me of a higher-end Panera. The vibe was nice and I did really like the layout and design, though.

Stopped by here on a whim during a road trip. Ordered online to go - the chicken Cobb salad fresh and filling - decent portion size. I would order it again. Some observations: for a chain restaurant, I like that they emphasize no additives or preservatives. There was a large water dispenser with cups available. Very busy, lots of people waiting to order and also seated. I noticed the all gender restroom was clean, spacious, and they even had this cool rubberized mat around the toilet bowl that catches any fluids, rather than it ending up on the floor. It was well stocked and I like that there was a Koala Kare changing station - very family friendly! There are about 3-4 solo restrooms, which is nice for a change (as opposed to multiple stalls). They partner with Plate Pass, a paid membership program which gives you discounts and and dining credit. Overall, happy with the food quality and ambiance. I would definitely return.

First time coming to this place and I must say I really like it! Met up with some friends here for lunch and the food was delicious! Everything was fresh and looked so colorful! We all enjoyed our food and loved the desserts! We tried the Banana cream pie, mango tart, chocolate cake and hummingbird cake! Highly recommend coming here if you like fresh salads, and good quality food! Good service ! Alexa was helping us out and she was friendly and sweet. She even let us try a cookie and it was a huge cookie! Too bad there's not a location closer to me or I would come more often!

This is my new go to stop for low calorie healthy meals. You can easily get a plate that's only 600-1000 calories that still has big flavor. They know how to maximize flavor in their dishes without just adding excess amounts of fat/sugar. Surf and turf: A Shrimp has this delicious garlic butter. Grass fed beef steak is so tender that you eat it with a butter knife. And it's marinated quite nicely as the center of the meat is not bland at all. Sea bass: B This was a to go order and I will say the fish was good. Food definitely is better served hot dining in. For the sides I like the sesame broccoli, seafood chowder, and potatoes.

the food was really good I got the steak plate with sides and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly 10/10 for sure . The service was top notch and all of the workers were super friendly. In particular, Gina and Raul were super friendly and they did their job excellently. Raul took my order and assisted me with any food questions I had and even gave me chimichurri on the side for free when I was deciding whether or not to get it. I really wanted to try out this place and I'm glad I did! Parking is no joke and I ended up parking the side lot by Ulta just to check this place out. Place looked very clean and modern and I ended up ordering the short rib plate to go along with a drink. Service was top notch where everyone was friendly , quick, and they packed my order so well! I don't like restaurants with little human interaction. Ordering on a computer screen and seating yourself makes it feel like a cafeteria ambiance and the food reflects it. Not our vibe. We opened our first restaurant in Del Mar in September of 2011. The inspiration for Urban Plates came from our desire to connect real people and real food with memorable experiences, We are committed to serving fresh, high-quality, chef-inspired meals made from scratch, delivered in a warm and inviting environment. We act as your chef advocates to ensure the finest quality ingredients for the price are on your plate. Now I eat my Reubens with horseradish sauce so I ordered a side of horseradish mayo for my sandwiches. It added the perfect kick to a perfect sandwich. The sauerkraut was tangy, the sauce was great, even the Swiss was good. What a great find! The employees were quick, efficient, and very polite. The restaurant was clean, as was the bathroom, so all was good there. The few tables they had were full and there were people coming in and out to pick up their orders. So I downloaded the app and am now a Mr Pickle's fan!

Their Elk Grove location has now made its way on to my bookmarked list.

I just visited the restaurant today! I was excited to try it because the online menu looked pretty good. We ordered two drinks, and that was the beginning of the downfall. The strawberry lemonade wasn't too bad, but it definitely tasted mostly like a "hint" of basil, with not much of a lemonade flavor at all. The pineapple coconut drink was atrocious. It had an almost sour, acid-like taste. That being said, maybe that's just our preference, and other people might enjoy those drinks. Let's move on to the food...we ordered two plates. The crispy jumbo chicken tenders plate had so many things wrong with it. We ordered it with bread, which was pretty burnt, along with two sides. The breading on the chicken was somehow burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside. The texture of the breading was both dry and doughy, which made it very unappetizing. One of the sides ordered with this plate was mac and cheese, which was alright but very watery. The other side was tomato soup, which was the best thing out of our entire experience. The other plate we ordered was the sustainable salmon. It was okay, a little on the burnt side, and the burnt parts had a charred taste that some people may like, but I wasn't a fan, especially since it didn't look that burnt in the menu photo. Lucky enough to score a spot during their friends and family pre-opening. Comfortable urban-inspired design serving a mix of sandwiches and wraps, salads and choose your own adventure plates (protein and sides). Husband had seared ahi, with a tangy pickled beet and goat cheese salad along with perfectly seasoned sautéed mushrooms. I opted for a veggie plate: extra creamy mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and sesame broccoli, served with some grilled Italian bread. Son opted for a chicken Caesar wrap with chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was Tara, who was friendly and engaging and never let any drinks go unfilled. There were a ton of staff around, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The place was very busy but no one seemed rushed or overwhelmed. We were gifted slices of hummingbird and chocolate layer cake to try, both of which were fabulous! We will definitely be back. read more

Went to their pre-dining event....absolutely amazing food but quite honestly what sold it for me was the service. They got this dude that works there named Manuel. Top 5 humans of all time if i'm being completely honest. If i needed water, Manuel would know before I even knew I was thirsty and would already be behind me pouring me a glass. His energy was just astounding truly. Another all star of the roster gotta be Benji. BENJI. If there was a mount rushmore of people on the planet, he'd be on there FOR SURE. Killer personality, such a friendly individual, and made me and my mates laugh so hard I almost threw up my food which would've been a crime considering how yummy the food was. Overall have not had a better experience in Davis with restaurant service in my three years of being here. True urban legends in the making...check em out. read more

I had such a great experience at Urban Plates! The food was fresh, flavorful, and honestly just really satisfying. You can tell they use quality ingredients -- everything tasted clean and well-seasoned without feeling heavy. I love that there are healthy options that still feel like comfort food. What really made the visit stand out though was the service. Chenel was absolutely amazing. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind from the moment we walked in. She made sure everything came out right, checked in on us at the perfect times (not too much, not too little), and had such a positive attitude. It's rare to get service that feels that authentic these days, and she definitely deserves recognition for it. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service thanks to Chenel. Had a great experience at Urban Plates in Davis. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you're looking for a quality, healthy meal. What really stood out though was the service. Nikki did an exceptional job welcoming us in and made the entire ordering process feel easy and comfortable. She went above and beyond by even bringing a small gift for our little one, which meant a lot to us as a family. After we finished our meals, she came back to check in and make sure everything was perfect. It's rare to see that level of care and attention you can tell when someone truly takes pride in their job, and Nikki definitely does. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better service. I came on one of the opening days and despite it being busy, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I came back today and got the Surf N Turf plate with steamed broccoli and carrots with beets. Alize came to check up on us and she was able to change my carrots with beets for mac n cheese even thought I ordered. Throughout the rest of my visit, Chenel was making sure our food was good, which it was lol, and that we had everything we needed. It was my first time coming here since I heard it just opened up and right off the bat when we sat down our server Chenel came up to us asking what we ordered and was really easy to make conversation with she was so nice. Another server Alize also came up to us making conversation on our order and she even changed our sides without trouble. We had such a great dinner at Urban Plates tonight! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly, but what really made the experience stand out was the staff. So I don't really leave reviews, nor do I use yelp but after coming here I don't mind opening an account and leave a review about me and my daughter's first experience here. At the front end Nikki was very patient with me and my daughter on looking at the menu and offered my daughter samples of the refreshers they have. i an a huge meat critic, i lovee having meat in my mouth. to be honest it is rare to see a place at this price serve steak that is cooked that well. The first bite had juices exploding in my mouth and it made every bite taste so great i was screaming FAHHHHH!!! also to mention the customer service was as good as the food, chenel was great and she was actually the one who told me about how good the steaks are. the whole atmosphere was great and very well organized. read more

Me and my family went to Urban Plates in Davis for the charity event days and to the Grand Opening! Wow!! Everyone was GREAT, professional, and efficient! The Owners, the General Manager, and everyone working there was AMAZING! I went to the pre opening event with my friends and everything was so wonderful!! Jade took our order and Chenel checked on us while we ate. Both were so friendly and enthusiastic and welcoming. The food was absolutely delish and good sized portions. I got the half club sandwich with tomato basil soup and truffle fries. All were amazing but the thing that stands out to me is the hefty amount of avocado. I love avocado. Very neat, very pretty, very yummy. 10/10 read more

10/10 experience super easy to order and they bring the food right to your table. I got the surf and turf and it was amazing 100% would recommend. The steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was full of flavor. I also got the pineapple coconut drink and it was very refreshing. I came here since it had some healthy lunch options. When you walk in you can immediately order at a kiosk, which there are 2 of. Also a counter if you want but I did the kiosk. Was a little confusing as far as the number system but since it wasn't too busy it was okay. Staff helped clear my table and it is a nice study spot. You get a big cookie for writing an honest review! The sea bass was good with the broccoli and beet+goat cheese sides. read more
