The place was lively for Father's Day but their service was still great. And they have a very professional and attentive. Great decor, even the bathrooms are well done. Spacious enough but small enough to be cozy and feel like home. All three of our meals were great! Definitely recommend the chicken and vanilla waffles. Great coffee too. Bc we were planning to go to Davis by noon my wife wanted to try this cute cafe in Dixon. It was a bit of a distance far from the freeway but when you have a car it's no biggie. We haven't been to Dixon in a long while. At least we found parking in a lot nearby the restaurant which was free & totally convenient. Street parking is there for the taking. City police is just down the street. It helps to know what you want bc you order at the counter right away. Take a number & find a seat! The restaurant was loud bc apparently they had a work party with the white elephant gifts! We found more private seating towards the rear of the restaurant but it was still crazy noisy! My wife ordered the Bulletproof coffee & she was hooked! Our food was served rather quickly too much to our happiness bc we were hangry. It took a little over an hour to get to Dixon bc there was an accident on the freeway back by Elk Grove. We almost didn't make it but ecstatic we did. My Farmers plate with organic eggs, bacon, Yukon gold potatoes & toast was delightful. My wife had the citrus pork tacos no cilantro & added avocado with sweet potato chilaquiles was delish. She was full even after 1 taco but still managed to finish both. She would love to return to try more of what's on their menu bc their cuisine is farm to fork, paleo, organic, healthy & gluten free. Met some friends here as it was a mid point between our houses. I called ahead to ask some questions and had wonderful service from Bella. There were 6 of us and we each ordered something different. I had the avocado toast with bacon. My husband had the pork tacos. My friend and the burger and her mom had chicken and waffles, her son had pancakes and bacon and her dad had the farmhouse breakfast. We had some cookies and a few different drinks. Everything was absolutely perfect and cooked as ordered. Loved the farmhouse table as we were able to visit and enjoy our time. It is a cute place and hope to visit again when in the area. It was our first time here and before we were assigned a table we were given menus to make our choices. This is a counter service restaurant, we paid at the counter and they served our food to our table. I chose the Farmer Ben's BLT and daughter got the Chipotle Chicken Wrap. The BLT was made with local sourdough toasted, thick cut bacon, chipotle mayo, and greens. They were generous on the bacon. Daughter enjoyed her food also. I was looking up places to meet my girlfriends for Saturday brunch that was between us. What a total gem! Located in a historic downtown Dixon, the outside was unassuming with plenty of parking. In general, really look forward to going to this place with friends since they have fresh ingredients, innovative menu for the area and last, but not least the Matcha is really creamy and the gluten-free baked goods are so delicious! Down side is that last time I went the sweet potatoes were salty and I found a hard piece of plastic in my burnt sweet potatoes, gross and hazardous...however, the other two times were excellent, and the baked goods and matcha are so so good that I will come back for them parking was also easy and people were in general pretty nice. My family and I had breakfast here on our way to a giants game. Seriously the best breakfast we've had - ever. I had the breakfast tacos and they were filling, fresh and delicious. Review #014 - 2025 Before coming out to meet my "adopted" son (nephew) on Saturday, Dec. 13th, I yelped for the nearest breakfast spot in Dixon since he wanted to treat me to a belated birthday meal and this place seemed very promising! Since we were meeting up to do Wreaths Across America at my mom's gravesite at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, it was a quick 10-minute drive. We showed up at around 9:25 AM. The place was pretty busy, but we still managed to find a seat pretty quickly since there was a communal table that we ended up sharing with another family. However, when another table opened up before our food arrived, we decided to move to our own table. I ordered the nourish bowl, but asked them to leave out the onions, which they did. My order was healthy, but kind of on the boring side since there wasn't any type of sauce or dressing. Luckily, my nephew ordered the Chipotle steak tacos, which came with avocados and chile verde. Since he was allergic to avocados, I asked them to put the avocados and chile verde on the side and I ended up making good use of them. His lost! My daughter had the vanilla pancakes, which she said was just ok. She rarely complains about pancakes, especially when she can pour syrup all over them! I had a hot matcha latte (whole milk, no sugar), which was actually the highlight of my meal! The reason for the 3-star rating instead of a 4-star is I had to deduct a star for food display sanitation. There was a large counter full of unwrapped hot cookies, just sitting where a customer was talking all over it. I pointed it out to the cashier and she said it wasn't her job to move them, but she'd let the owner know of my concern. I wonder how no other customers ever realized that this was a health code violation. Maybe the restaurant owner in me just couldn't stand it! My daughter brought me here for Mother's Day this year on a Saturday. We needed a spot close to Davis since we had an appointment there. I had never spent any time in Dixon before, but the town has it's own charm! Rosemary's has plenty of free street parking. The interior is beautiful and looks new, love the lighting and decor. You order at the counter and then you get a wooden spoon with a number which you put in the vase on your table. Daughter got the avocado toast ($12) with extra bacon ($3) which she loved. Bacon was thick, smoky and had a ton of flavor. I opted for the grass fed beef burger ($19) which came with a side of broccolini, Brussels sprouts or crispy potatoes. My mom and I came here for brunch, and when we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and immediately noticed the great ambiance of the place. I ordered the Farmer's Platter with extra greens, and my mom ordered the Crispy Vanilla Waffle with Chicken. On the right side of the restaurant, there's a cabinet filled with utensils, cream and sugar, condiments, water cups, a water dispenser, water jugs to bring back to your table, and napkins. I really appreciated the cabinet full of essentials because everything we needed was right there--no need to ask for anything additional. Not a fan of this place. There is a massive lack of customer service. I ordered a special seasonal latte, and this kind lady who was seated after me asked for the same type of latte (it looked great) and the waitress was unnecessarily rude to her. There is a lack of food safety, as they sell cookies, and they are NOT covered up in any manner. In fact, if a customer happened to be sneezing they would have simply sneezed all over the white chocolate and chocolate cookies which were all left on the counter. Another issue is that you are not served water, you are made to get your cup yourself and literally fill it up. Our friends arrived and we all ordered our food and sat at our table, receiving drinks soon after and waiting for our food. This worked out well for us but I wish their system was more clear and organized; there is no sign or explanation of how it works. I initially ordered a hot chai latte and it was one of the best I've had; rich in spices and delicious. Due to the wait for food I ended up trying a maple matcha latte as well which was decent. I had the apple salad with crispy chicken and I loved it! It was rich in flavor and texture, the chicken was crispy but not overcooked. My husband had the farmers plate and he said the food was good but arrived to him barely warm. Everyone that works there is very friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The wait: yes, service staff did mention that it will take 45 minutes to get the food. But, when you know that it has been over 45 minutes and the people behind you got their food before you, and your food was lukewarm warm, that kind of sucks. 2. The smell of cleaning products: as it was near closing time when we got our food, the staff started cleaning up. I get that time is of the essence, but smelling cleaning products while eating does not make a good experience. 3. The price point. You stand to order and pay before you sit and then you go to the side counter to get your own silverware, napkins, water, etc. If it's the first time for you, you didn't know this, and you probably added a tip for table service but there really isn't any table service. Rosemary's has a new location but needs to sort some things out. First, and it's a sign of the times, but prices are sky high. We spent $75 for breakfast for 2, including two breakfast entrees, a latte and tea, and a side of bacon. The breakfast tacos (pictured), with a $3 upcharge for goat cheese, worked out to $10 each. Paired with the expectation that patrons get their own napkins and utensils, and the upfront purchase model of a coffee shop, makes Rosemary's an expensive hybrid service model. And, with such prices, everything has to be right. I'm happy to say the scrambled eggs demonstrate the chef's skill--slightly runny, blending beautifully with the cheese--and their salsa verde is perfection. However, the tortilla was under-warmed and stiff, and the cilantro was piled on stalks and all, which made for a flavorful but leafy bite. Warm, soft, tortillas a mano would make all the difference. Additionally, the new location imposes a significant challenge to the restaurant's atmosphere. A former fire house, every surface is reflective and the space is noisy. The echoes and complete lack of wall decor make it feel like you're dining in an art gallery or unstaged showroom. Fabric, tapestries, baffles, plants, booths, etc are what's needed to help absorb sound. Also, the meal prep taking place in one of the vehicle bays could occur behind a screen. Taking a country drive to Dixon and enjoying farm to fork cuisine is one of the joys of living in Solano County. I'm optimistic Rosemary's will be a destination worth the trip. 3/5 read more
