Wow!! Such a cool place to check out. We came here for my mom's birthday dinner and this place did NOT disappoint. So many food options on the menu, the food comes out super fast and taste so fresh and flavorful, and it's plated so beautifully, like a fancy restaurant. The ambiance is super chill and low key, the music is spot on, it's just perfect. And the staff, they are all super friendly, they welcomed us immediately as we walked in. Brooklyn and India deserved to be recognized as they were very friendly and welcoming. There was another staff member staff who brought us out our drinks but we didn't catch her name but she was also super helpful, We used the kiosk to order which is nice too. Definitely stop by and check them out, you'll be so glad you did.

We had such a great experience when we came over the weekend. Ordering is so simple. You just place your order at the kiosk and that's it. There's plenty of seating inside the restaurant as well as outside on the patio. Our food orders came out relatively quickly. Let me tell you it was all so very delicious. The staff were incredibly sweet. Shoutout to India and Brooklyn!! Highly recommend and can't wait to coke back again.

I am so glad I tried this place. I've heard friends say positive things before but it really surprised me how good the place was. You pick and main item and two side items. The had a good variety of selections for the side items. The Chimichurri Steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The beet salad was refreshing. And those Truffle fries were excellent! I was surprised about the generous portions given the price. It was very affordable for high quality food. Semi casual spot. You order at the counter, they give you a numbered placard and then they deliver the food to you. My only complaint is the parking. This is a very busy shopping center with a lot of stores and not enough parking.

I was tempted to try the burger but went the healthy route of a salad with steak. Wife had the beef with mashed potatoes. Service: Awesome! Having hospitality experience, this is what you are looking for. Friendly, patient and can guide you through the menu options. Ambiance: Clean and modern and lots of seating. We went to the Davis location-come thru and eat! You won't regret it! We'll be back for the next few Sundays.

This review is based on a catered order. The steak sandwich looked pale and rare, but it was surprisingly tender and tasty. The house salad was ordinary, but the vinaigrette and pickled onions elevated the greens. I would try this place if I'm around.

I was not wanting to cook. Again. Drove to Urban Plates. Checked the outside menu. Chose a chicken bowl. Opted for mashed potatoes instead of rice. Had a nice toast with it. Enjoyed the chicken and curry sauce. Atmosphere is modern Served is pleasant and quick. My meal was delicious. On a Friday night.

I came here with some friends for brunch on a sunday, and we stayed for a while just talking, which made for a nice experience. We sat in the patio outside. it was nice and quiet considering that's its next to one of the main roads in davis. The service style is the one where you order at the front first, then they give you a table flag and bring the food out to you. You also handle things like water, condiments, and utensils yourself. The roast chicken was pretty decent. Nothing crazy, but good. The caesar salad was good too, and overall the food felt fresh and healthy. The fries were fine, felt like they were battered or at the least seasoned One interesting thing is that they rotate specials through the menu every week encouraging you to try something new Overall, it was a solid experience. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The food tasted healthy, and I felt pretty good afterward.

Food: great selection, healthy, portions are just right (the salmon I ordered was moist and not dry at all) Service: food is probably made to order so it takes a while. It's worth it though. Just don't come here in a rush. The servers were nice. Ambiance: there are shared tables and an outdoor patio. I came on a really cold night and didn't want to sit outside. There wasn't enough seating for my party of 4 inside. We had to sit separately during our meal. That's the only disappointing part. Otherwise, I will be back.

We saw this restaurant reviewed on Instagram and we finally made it to eat! It was nice and clean. We walked in and ended up ordering at the kiosk. We are kind of old school so it was nice to have the opportunity to talk to a human even though we know kiosks are the future. Prices are kind of steep, but that's the trend now. The menu is very extensive! I ended up ordering the steak salad and my friend ordered the siren turf plate. I looked at the fries avg they looked so yummy, so I ordered a side of fries. We grabbed our table sign (mine was my HS graduation year) and sat down at a bar-height table with comfy chairs. The restaurant was pretty busy while we were there, but it only took about 10 minutes for our food to arrive. His plate arrived first (Surf 'n Turf) and it looked yummy. We should have put our meals on the same number since my food came out about 5 minutes after his did. He started eating since his was hot and I didn't want it to get cold. My fries came out next and I was disappointed. The images on the kiosk made them look like they would be very well seasoned. It did not look seasoned at all when they arrived. They were nice and hot, but my friend said they tasted "like a potato". Nothing to write home about. I didn't even end up eating too many and I don't often leave food behind! My salad came out and it looked amazing! I ordered the steak well done since it was the only other option. Surprisingly the meat was still very tender and not dry at all. There was a hint of mint in the salad and that was a very refreshing addition. I liked the mango salsa and added crunch of nuts, but I got most of it at the end of the salad. We stayed until 9:30 and at one point the lights dimmed so we took that as our sign it was time to leave. Overall, our meals were good, but I probably won't put this restaurant on a regular rotation. I paid $30 for a salad and fries and I left some fries on the plate. It reminds me of a higher-end Panera. The vibe was nice and I did really like the layout and design, though.

First time coming to this place and I must say I really like it! Met up with some friends here for lunch and the food was delicious! Everything was fresh and looked so colorful! We all enjoyed our food and loved the desserts! We tried the Banana cream pie, mango tart, chocolate cake and hummingbird cake! Highly recommend coming here if you like fresh salads, and good quality food! Good service ! Alexa was helping us out and she was friendly and sweet. She even let us try a cookie and it was a huge cookie! Too bad there's not a location closer to me or I would come more often!

Stopped by here on a whim during a road trip. Ordered online to go - the chicken Cobb salad fresh and filling - decent portion size. I would order it again. Some observations: for a chain restaurant, I like that they emphasize no additives or preservatives. There was a large water dispenser with cups available. Very busy, lots of people waiting to order and also seated. I noticed the all gender restroom was clean, spacious, and they even had this cool rubberized mat around the toilet bowl that catches any fluids, rather than it ending up on the floor. It was well stocked and I like that there was a Koala Kare changing station - very family friendly! There are about 3-4 solo restrooms, which is nice for a change (as opposed to multiple stalls). They partner with Plate Pass, a paid membership program which gives you discounts and and dining credit. Overall, happy with the food quality and ambiance. I would definitely return.

Went back after Christmas and it's still as good as I remember! The food is served promptly after ordering. Would really like our local urban plates in Dublin, California, but we had a meet up with some friends in Davis and we were truly impressed by this new restaurant! It's got a cool layout with outdoor seating, but it was too cold to be outside so he died inside and the staff was so accommodating. We had a group of seven and they put tables together and waited patiently for his Alzheimer's to figure out how to order on the touchscreen! Everything was delicious. The service was great the bathroom spotless, and we were even treated to free cookies afterwards! I recommend. read more

Great place if you want a wholesome meal! My boyfriend and I picked a blackened salmon plate and a grilled sustainable salmon plate and loved it! I chose to pair my grilled salmon with ponzu sauce which was delicious. My boyfriend paired his blackened salmon with hollandaise which he thought was great. We ordered through a kiosk at the front of the store and our food followed after 15 minutes. The person that served us our food apologized for the wait and explained that salmon takes the longest to cook (we didn't mind the wait). The restaurant itself was spacious with outside seating. Just okay. I can see how this would be a good option for a health conscious college student. Otherwise, there are better local options. Brussel sprouts - very hard, bland. In my opinion, roasting the brussel sprouts until tender with some purple onions to caramelize would make a good combo! :) Carrots/beets side - mostly carrots, which were quite crunchy. Steak - chewy, tendony, but grill flavor was ok. Quinoa - wet and did not taste pleasant. Potatoes - cooked nicely but unpleasant herbs. Asparagus - soggy and unpleasant seasoning. I feel this would be better sautéed in olive oil and garlic. Gluten free bread - surprisingly good! I never have high hopes for gluten free bread, but I enjoyed it. Flourless chocolate cake - delicious!!! My favorite part of the meal. read more

Service was great on grand opening. There was a guy out in front, Cyrus, who talked to my parents a lot lol and made their experience feel welcoming and he was very knowledgeable about ordering on the kiosk and told us about plate pass which I signed up for. Mild inconveniences: The app is not the best - it's kind of slow and I would rather order in person. Parking is a bit atrocious here too at the Davis collective lol. I wish they considered that when developing... tbh I think the ratio of available parking to stores/restaurants is a bit... well we will see. The food was delicious and fresh! I also like the restaurant layout - not too crowded and you can see the food being made. My favorite is the sea bass. Although I don't have it pictured lol. The steak is also really nice. Very tender. They had this coconut lime refresher that was also really good. Shoutout to Abreena(?) for helping us get water and clearing our plates, Nikki for going around and checking in on us (the cookie was really yummy), and Luis ‍ A lot of servers also checked in on us. So good vibes all around. I will definitely be using my plate pass lol. read more

I was able to be apart of the VIP experience before the restaurant opens on Monday the 20th. I was so pleasantly surprised by the food, it's a lot of meals that I would love to have home cooked so it's nice to have a place that you can get that experience without having to cook it yourself. (This is not sponsored or anything I just think you guys might enjoy it) I am looking forward to trying the other dishes and sides as well as the desserts! All of the staff was so friendly and Chenel was so kind and helpful. Highly recommend checking it out when they are open to the public. My husband and I were intrigued by Urban Plates since it's been all over our social media lately, so we stopped by for lunch. We got the braised short ribs and the braised beef. He said his short ribs were super tender and gave them an 8/10. I gave mine a 7.8 because I expected a few more veggies in my bowl (as described on their menu), but the flavor was really good and the beef was so tender. I usually don't even like mashed potatoes, but theirs were creamy and delicious. Portions were generous too we had to take some home. Oh, and that garlic hot sauce they have? So good, definitely try it with the bowls. Chenel was great and made sure we were taken care of. Loved the chill vibes here, even though it was pretty busy earlier. Overall, a solid lunch spot! read more

I got a Chimichurri Steak with garlic parmesan mushrooms and caesar salad. The chicken was dry though, which was disappointing because the flavor was tasty. Overall the food was pretty good -- not mind blowing, but I would come again. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming! Our interaction with Vinny was particularly pleasant. The service is great! While you place your order yourself or at the register the service is always friendly. Alexa is one of our favorite servers. Alexa is always friendly and I never seem to have an empty drink glass. There are couple of other people I wish I could remember their names, they are great as well. Even though it's not the "traditional" set up for a full service restaurant. It feels like the perfect in between. Really nice meals and do not skip dessert! My friend met me here for dinner. Neither of us had been here before and we were looking forward to trying it, especially with the great reviews. Unfortunately, we didn't have a good dinner. My salad had several pieces of brown wilted lettuce in it...yuk. The tomato basil soup was decent. My friend ordered the French dip and asked to add cheese. She was told it came with cheese, but it didn't...just overcooked dry meat on bread...very plain. Again...yuk! The young employee who took our half-eaten meals away asked how it was, and we showed him the brown wilted lettuce and dry "sandwich". He apologized a few times, then came back with a couple of cookies for us, which he didn't have to do. And the a/c was way too cold...my friend had to go back out to her car to get her sweater. Parking was a joke, but that certainly isn't the restaurant's fault, just an FYI. Not sure if we will be back. read more

They had 6 or 7 tables from what I remember with high chair and regular chair options. You can get a cup of water for free. Utensils are on the tables. Here's what we ordered: * Poke bowl with 2 protein choices $14.25 - Note, you can opt to do a small bowl option with 1 choice of protein. You can add toppings for $1 each or pay for their topping combos. We found this poke bowl to not be the best value since no toppings were included in the price of the bowel. My husband was not a huge fan of the fish and said it did not taste like the poke he used to eat growing up in Hawaii. He said it was lacking Hawaiian salt. * Soft shell crab sushi wrap $16.50 - Huge sushi wrap split in two! This was delicious and had a good amount of soft shell crab in it. It tasted like a handheld sushi roll with soft shell crab. I loved it. I ate half in the restaurant and then reheated the other half at home the next day. I enjoyed this a lot and would order this again! I just visited the restaurant today! I was excited to try it because the online menu looked pretty good. We ordered two drinks, and that was the beginning of the downfall. The strawberry lemonade wasn't too bad, but it definitely tasted mostly like a "hint" of basil, with not much of a lemonade flavor at all. The pineapple coconut drink was atrocious. It had an almost sour, acid-like taste. That being said, maybe that's just our preference, and other people might enjoy those drinks. Let's move on to the food...we ordered two plates. The crispy jumbo chicken tenders plate had so many things wrong with it. We ordered it with bread, which was pretty burnt, along with two sides. The breading on the chicken was somehow burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside. The texture of the breading was both dry and doughy, which made it very unappetizing. One of the sides ordered with this plate was mac and cheese, which was alright but very watery. The other side was tomato soup, which was the best thing out of our entire experience. The other plate we ordered was the sustainable salmon. It was okay, a little on the burnt side, and the burnt parts had a charred taste that some people may like, but I wasn't a fan, especially since it didn't look that burnt in the menu photo. We also got bread with this plate, and that was burnt as well. The sides we chose for this plate were tomato soup and fries. The fries were already cold, not even warm, when they were brought to the table. It could've been a great meal because the place is very nice, but only if the food had been prepared differently. read more

Holy SMOKES. People, this restaurant is next level. 1. the ambiance was great. It felt so lovely to come in and feel like you're in a cozy space, but know that there's plenty of seating. I loved that they had a long table in the middle for either large parties, or for several small groups. 2. Loved the food. They had a menu specifically to highlight allergens. It made it so easy to order. Also, you can order on your phone and have it delivered right to your table. No waiting in line or anything. 3. I cannot stress this enough, the service was UNBELIEVABLE. It happened to be my birthday and I was wearing a birthday hat. One of the employees, Nikki saw my hat, and came over and wished me a happy birthday. She also gave me a treat on the house and because I couldn't have any of the desserts (allergens) she let me have a fancy blueberry lemonade as my "treat". She really made the whole experience very special. I love Urban Plates and will sing it's praises to anyone and everyone. The food - delish. The consideration - superb. The staff - unparalleled. My roommates and I sat in for a wonderful late lunch during their complimentary training program experience prior to opening day. Even on the patio, the ambiance was sublime, complete with a tiny succulent on our table. The food was delicious and the employees were very accommodating and sociable. We specifically want to thank Jade for being very welcoming and understanding when taking our order by taking time to explain each of the menu items. We were also greeted by Francesca with some delectable replenisher samples. Alize and Manuel stopped by our table once we had finished eating to check in, and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, by forming personal connections. Finally, Nikki helped conclude our experience by making sure we had all the to go containers we needed. Lucky enough to score a spot during their friends and family pre-opening. Comfortable urban-inspired design serving a mix of sandwiches and wraps, salads and choose your own adventure plates (protein and sides). Husband had seared ahi, with a tangy pickled beet and goat cheese salad along with perfectly seasoned sautéed mushrooms. I opted for a veggie plate: extra creamy mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and sesame broccoli, served with some grilled Italian bread. Son opted for a chicken Caesar wrap with chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was Tara, who was friendly and engaging and never let any drinks go unfilled. There were a ton of staff around, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The place was very busy but no one seemed rushed or overwhelmed. We were gifted slices of hummingbird and chocolate layer cake to try, both of which were fabulous! We will definitely be back. read more

Went to their pre-dining event....absolutely amazing food but quite honestly what sold it for me was the service. They got this dude that works there named Manuel. Top 5 humans of all time if i'm being completely honest. If i needed water, Manuel would know before I even knew I was thirsty and would already be behind me pouring me a glass. His energy was just astounding truly. Another all star of the roster gotta be Benji. BENJI. If there was a mount rushmore of people on the planet, he'd be on there FOR SURE. Killer personality, such a friendly individual, and made me and my mates laugh so hard I almost threw up my food which would've been a crime considering how yummy the food was. I came on one of the opening days and despite it being busy, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I came back today and got the Surf N Turf plate with steamed broccoli and carrots with beets. Alize came to check up on us and she was able to change my carrots with beets for mac n cheese even thought I ordered. Throughout the rest of my visit, Chenel was making sure our food was good, which it was lol, and that we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely great! They have a diverse menu and are relatively well priced compared to other locations of their caliber. An amazingly welcoming environment as well. My steak sandwich was perfectly made by Alyssa, and Benji made some very pleasant conversation with me while i waited for my food. At the front end Nikki was very patient with me and my daughter on looking at the menu and offered my daughter samples of the refreshers they have. I went to the pre opening event with my friends and everything was so wonderful!! Jade took our order and Chenel checked on us while we ate. Both were so friendly and enthusiastic and welcoming. The food was absolutely delish and good sized portions. I got the half club sandwich with tomato basil soup and truffle fries. 10/10 experience super easy to order and they bring the food right to your table. I got the surf and turf and it was amazing 100% would recommend. I came here since it had some healthy lunch options. When you walk in you can immediately order at a kiosk, which there are 2 of. Also a counter if you want but I did the kiosk. Was a little confusing as far as the number system but since it wasn't too busy it was okay. Staff helped clear my table and it is a nice study spot. You get a big cookie for writing an honest review! The sea bass was good with the broccoli and beet+goat cheese sides. read more
