I visited this restaurant recently. I can say everything was five stars. Service was outstanding. We were greeted right away and seated. Our server's name if I am not mistaken was Edward. He went above and beyond in providing customer service. He made recommendations on what to order and what their popular food items were. For food, this location is offering brunch now. I can say food was very tasteful. I really enjoyed my waffle. It was so yummy. I can say it was one of the best waffles I had. For ambiance, this location has a very lovely ambiance and decoration. It is perfect for a date night or casual hangout with friends. It is nicely decorated and there is a small water fountain too. They also have private rooms for small events. Came here in December 2025 for a women's get-together brunch. What started as 20-25 women quickly grew to 35, and Urban Press Winery handled it seamlessly! The restaurant's event manager, Rose, was incredibly sweet, accommodating, and supportive throughout the entire process-- from booking to execution. We had a buffet-style setup with select bottomless drinks, and the staff was absolutely on it--consistently bussing tables, keeping glasses full, and graciously accommodating picture-taking. The venue itself was spacious enough that we never felt like we were "taking over the restaurant," which made it a perfect fit for our western-themed event. What a real treat to finally make it to Urban Press Winery & Restaurant! My friend and I have circled this restaurant and our schedule finally aligned. The decor has an old European charm to it, and it makes you feel like you're transported to a far away winery even though you're in the middle of Downtown Burbank. Wednesday night is a great night to visit since they have Happy Hour including $10 pastas all night! To start off, we had the Charcuterie with an assortment of delicious deli meat and cheese, fig jam, olives, dried nuts and fruits, and foccacia. It's a great appetizer and paired well with the white wines we had with our 6-glass wine taster set! The Arancini is also a must have for appetizer. It is crunchy, savory, and just so delicious. It is similar to meatballs in a sense, but lighter as a filling. For our main entrées, we had the smaller Happy Hour portions of the Cacio e Pepe, a classic Roman pasta that I love, and Agnolotti, a butternut squash and ricotta stuffed pasta with browned butter sauce. As much as I love Cacio e pepe, this one is a little bit underseasoned, but still tasty. I just wanted more from it. The Agnolotti was the clear winner between the two with its delicate balance of cheesiness, nuttiness, and sweetness. Finally, we had two pizzas, the Fennel Pork Sausage as well as the Quattro Formaggi (four cheeses). Both are quite tasty, but the Quattro Formaggi is just so good with its Asiago, Gorgonzola, Parmesan, and Truffle Oil, and ultimately the more memorable pizza. Doesn't look like much from the outside but as you walk in, you're transported to a magical hideaway. The inside has a cozy atmosphere with dim lighting. Very romantic and a great place for a date. We sat outside in their patio area, which has heaters and beautiful lighting. Service was great and fast! They offer a variety of wine options and food including pizza, seafood and appetizers. We ordered the mushroom pizza, octopus and shrimp risotto. The pizza was really good, with a thin crust. The shrimp to me a little overcooked but the octopus was wonderful. We hosted about 20 people for lunch and everything was delicious. I selected the Rigatoni Bolognese, Chicken Piccata, and Baby Gem Caesar salad for the lunch menu. We also added pizzas for extra options and I brought a cake. I don't like cannolis so bring your own dessert if you're not a cannoli fan! Came here with my partner on a Thursday night, we made reservations through their website 2 hours prior and it was fairly easy! They have a live music downstairs where you enter from the restaurant and it's nice, I'm glad the music wasn't too overbearing or too loud which is nice. We ordered the fennel sausage pizza as an appetizer and I must say it was pretty solid. The dough has a light airy texture and a nice chew. It wasn't crispy or too floppy, I think they made it just right. Not too burnt and not undercooked, it was perfect. It had a good flavor and I think this was my favorite dish of the night. I highly recommend this or any of their pizzas, I don't think you'll go wrong. I had the lamb shank and it was on top of a bed of risotto. The lamb shank has a good flavor, but I felt it was kind of tough. Usually lamb shanks should be fall off the bone tender but this one wasn't. I had to keep chewing for a while to finally be able to swallow it. There were some parts of it where it was tender, but the rest not so much. The risotto was quite delicious though, but if I wanted risotto to be the star, I would've ordered that instead. My partner ordered the mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said it was solid, but he prefers the pizza over the risotto. The mushrooms were nice and fleshy and the asparagus still had a nice bite to it, sometimes it's a hit or miss with asparagus. It's either too hard or too soft, and he says they got it spot on. It had a good flavor to it too, not too salty. We ordered charcuterie for starters plus two bottles of wine (rosé). We added pasta for the main entree. If you want to get the full experience of their entree, it will be best to go with that first rather than the charcuterie. The space was beautiful, the food and wine were delicious, and the service was outstanding. We added a few lanterns with tea lights for a cozy touch, and the atmosphere couldn't have been better. We started with the most amazing charcuterie boards -- complete with truffle honey that was absolutely to die for. Dinner was served family-style: stuffed chicken, branzino, mashed potatoes with a dreamy sauce I'm still thinking about, fresh veggies, and Italian beignets for dessert. Had a really nice Sunday brunch at Urban Press on their back patio. They have unlimited brunch on the weekends that costs $39, and you get to try smaller portions of lots of different menu items. It was my first time here, and most of the dishes were honestly really good. I'd recommend making a reservation since the patio fills up fast on weekends. Parking: Burbank recently installed metered parking on the main streets, and parking is sometimes hard to find. For free parking- I would recommend parking at the AMC 16 or near the mall and walk over to the Winery. Ambiance: The back patio was super cute and relaxing. There were curtains, umbrellas for shade, and lots of plants. It had a calm, nature vibe that made brunch feel extra nice. Food: Very yummy! You get 90 minutes to try a ton of brunch items on their menu with items ranging from fluffy stacks of pancakes to lobster egg benedicts and pasta. You can order the same dish more than once if you find one you really enjoy. They also offer a free bread basket- ours was filled with focaccia, croissants, and pain au chocolat. There are tons of bread but you don't have to finish the bread basket. Overall, this place was a a cozy brunch spot for us with tons of good food, especially if you like trying a little bit of everything. I have often wished I could find a neighborhood jazz club that I could frequent regularly. Having been a singer, including in a few clubs along the way, it would be a treat to find a place to go, sing along, do a pop-up set, and enjoy food and a glass of wine. But, jazz clubs are few and far between in L.A., and they are usually open late at night, which lets me out -- I am not going to drive an hour in the wee hours, iykwim. Enter Urban Press! We booked it for a late lunch and to our surprise, there was a jazz duo. Dave Tull on the drums and Wayne Weiland on the keyboard. They were very good. That explains why the room filled up at a truly off hour. I think there is usually a cover charge for this, but we did not pay one. Yay! The food was very good. Loved the decor and the general vibe. It is in the middle of a happening part of Burbank (Burbank is looking great right now, having fully recovered from the covid nightmare). Everything we ordered was perfect. Been here twice now Corn soup - sweet & delicious. I'd get this again anytime. Panuozzo - steak was a perfect medium rare by request, the Dijon sauce was fine, but more than I care for. Could have used more salt overall. The pizza crust bun has good flavor, and a little bit of char. Fries were a little dry and overcooked, and could use seasoning. Made me wish I had ordered the side salad instead. All in all a surprisingly underwhelming dish, flavor-wise. Gem Caesar Salad - the dressing on this is phenomenal, especially if you like it garlicky! I wish it was more lettuce, for the price...you could easily add 50% more lettuce and still have a good dressing to lead ratio. The little tiny croutons are super crispy. Could use more Parmesan. The first time I had this dish, it was covered with tons of parm shavings. This time, I got it with the steak addon, which was cooked to my medium rare request and a generous portion for the price. The steak, however, could also have used more seasoning. On a previous visit, we also tried a lamb shank, which was quite good, and the mushroom truffle pasta which was bland and not worth the price. Food is really hit or miss here. The Caesar has been good both times! Service is always friendly, but can be slow, especially on busier days, or on slow ones when you sit in a different area from everyone else! Their indoor and outdoor dining area are very separate and perhaps it's easy to be forgotten. The patio is nice, but their high speed ceiling fans out there can be very loud. I wish this place was more reliable and consistent with their flavors and seasonings because it could be really great! When they do something we'll, it's good, but the rest of the time, not worth the price or time. It has potential and I wish them good things. I went there for the first time for Eric & Kaili Grooms wedding rehearsal dinner and it was a lovely experience. The staff was friendly and attentive and kept our glasses refreshed. I came on a Wednesday for happy hour from 3p-close. I had some wine, pizza and truffle fries. Select wines are $8 a glass. For pizza I had Wild Mushroom Truffle and Fennel Pork Sausage. The mushroom was good and topped with arugula. The pork sausage was perfect; my favorite of the two. The fries were good and, as always, perfect for sharing. There was little to no truffle taste in it. Since it is still January and still cold there weren't too many people which was nice. The restaurant is located in a busy shopping and eating area but there is street parking and free structures located all around the restaurant. There is a winery with wine tasting and seating in the front and an outdoor patio area upstairs. The ambiance is so welcoming and comfortable. The restaurant offers an unlimited brunch for $39.99 per person. The menu items are made to order and are smaller portions so that you can try and share different items. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. My favorites were the buttermilk pancakes, chicken and waffles, chilaquiles, peanut butter and jelly French toast and the crab cake. Food - Hit or miss. Mostly overpriced for what you get. -Oysters - The order I had was super tiny w/ lots of pieces of grit. -Burrata - Had way too much pesto (basil) that it was overpowering and the olive crostini is just 4 tiny pieces stuck in the top - so you're not really getting anything to eat the burrata/tomatoes/squash with. -Mussels - My favorite thing to eat here, has a bit of heat on the tongue and great with a glass of the syrah. -Grilled Octopus - Bland and underwhelming -Seafood Risotti - Bland & underwhelming -Lamb Shank - My 2nd favorite thing to order here.
